Remember going to Karate Kid in 1984? The ton of people, the smell of popcorn the sticky grimy floors. You did not know what stadium riser seating was and teenagers making out? This is what you get with the Lee. Its pure Nostalgia. This place even lets you eat pizza in the theater with table like seating. I'll be more than happy to edit this review when I see changes made Here's the bad news: Candy Concessions: You will stand in line and have no idea of the prices and by the time you get up there you're trying to figure out what size for what price and what candy comes with the kids meal, etc. (I've mentioned to them, just get a white board from the dollar store & some stencils and hang a few up on the wall - no one has done anything) The lines would move a LOT faster if they just changed a few things. Pizza: You may be ready to order, but they will never ask the 2 people in front of you still deciding to move away from the register so they can take your order and don't ask the customer because they don't want your order done before there's is. (I've mentioned to them to have their staff kindly say "can I have you stand over here while your still deciding so I can help the next customer" - but it still happens every time) Here's the good news: These reviews on the youth working thankfully don't match up with my experience. I've always had good service (except the pizza staff who can't tell someone to move) but they are helpful and it's not their fault we are ticked off exhausted from standing in line with kids and then standing in front of them for 5 minutes trying to figure out what to get because you have NO IDEA of what the prices are until you get up there. The pizza is good! (we even order it when we are not going to a movie) and I like supporting local businesses so we go. Don't waste your money unless you don't mind sharing the movie experience with toddlers and loud people. We watched a movie, that was not a children movie, with a family who brought a toddler. The toddler cried and fussed the entire time, as anyone who knows toddlers would have expected. When we complained to staff absolutely nothing was done. I would rather take my money to a business that understands the movie experience people desire when paying money at a theater, versus feeling like you are in someone's private living room. We would rather drive to Tri Cities than ever come here again. read more

Our family has been going to the Lee Theater since we moved from Seattle, almost ten years ago. We have always been greeted warmly and have had excellent service. Another bonus, their pizza is delicious! Also, they deliver pizza. One time we asked if we could buy a tub of popcorn to be delivered as well, and they did! I think it is weird that a couple of reviewers mentioned "teens hanging out" as a negative. One, it's great that teens are going to movies in my opinion, and two, how is this the theater's fault if teens are talking around the front door? Lol. We have also always appreciated the free movies they show twice a week in the summer. This was a life saver when our kids were younger :) read more

love this theater so much!! I grew up in a small town where we only had 1 screen so the fact that there is only 3 doesn't bother me. The best part is no matter what screen you are viewing you can sit in a booth and get pizza delivered to you. How can it get any better than that!!?? It does though.... the menu offers more than just pizza, there was hamburgers and hot wings too. The theater was decently clean and I loved the atmosphere. The employees are high school students but they are extremely friendly. The ticket prices are reasonable too. If you choose this theater it will be a hard movie experience to beat. Tip: If you are ordering pizza get to the movie a little bit earlier about 15 min. So you can get your pizza at the start of the movie. You can also call in and reserve a booth. read more

They only have 3 screens, 2 of which are smaller but Screen #1 is the best, they have a few booths that you can reserve & get pizza. The only time we go is if a good movie is showing on screen 1, otherwise it's not worth it to us. They have the same problem as most movie theaters do these days, it's not an experience anymore. Most people would rather wait till it comes out on DVD, but if you do watch a movie on screen 1 you will get more of an experience than at other movie theaters. read more

I had a fun time with my family here! For the 6 of us I ended up spending around $80 since the young ones wanted some stuff. The only down side is that it's a bit old and the parking lot can get muddy. But it's close and wasn't crowded for a Sunday night. read more

It is very sad to see how far the Lee Theater has declined. I used to live in Ephrata several years ago and this theater was a great place to go, clean, well maintained, and a gem for the city of Ephrata. I have recently moved back to Ephrata and last Saturday went out for a nice evening with my wife. We enjoyed a nice dinner at a newer bistro in town then went to the Lee to attempt to see a movie. Upon entering the Lee I had to wait at the ticket counter for either the girl behind the concession stand to quit texting on her phone or for the guy behind the pizza counter to quit slirping down his soda in the food prep area. After paying for our tickets we proceeded to buy some concessions. We still had to wait for the girl behind the counter to stop texting, once she did we went on up to the theater and tried to find the cleanest seats that were also not broken. While waiting for the movie to begin, we had to tolerate a group of people, with a child, that most likely crawled out from under a rock somewhere in town, or just arrived in town after being chased out of some other town. They were dead set on talking loud, assuming everyone else was interested in what they had to say, and also how they were sneaking alcohol into the theater and mixing it in a soda bottle (they were late 20's early 30's, with a child). Then about 15 junior high kids came in and continued to run up and down the isles and crawl all over the stair banister and seats and be extremely loud. This was, at first, not a big deal, as it was expected behavior from kids this age; however once the movie began their noise level increased, despite the requests of the older couple behind us, and from the very direct request from my wife. Their noise level was loud enough to make hearing the movie next to impossible, and at minimum not acceptable for other paying customers to be subjected to. After of several minutes of waiting to see if the kids in the back and the obnoxious socially challenged adults in the front would settle down, we ended up leaving the theater and requesting our money back. We shared our experience with the young main refunded our money; however being that he is most likely not invested in the success of the Lee Theater nor the enjoyment of its patrons, I am confident our complaint will never make it to the manager or owner of the Lee, therefore this online review. My hope is for the Lee to regain its ability to be the gem that it can be for the City of Ephrata. This old theater is deserving of care and maintenance as many like it have been torn down or only exist in the larger cities. Rules and policy need to be enforced so that all people can spend money and time at the Lee to enjoy movies and for it not to just become a trashy and dirty place people drop their kids off for a couple of ours and rein unchecked at the expense of other respectful people and the the theater. Dear Lee Theater, please protect and be a responsible steward of this beautiful theater! read more

Besides the pizza you can eat in the theater, there is no reason to go here. It is dirty...I mean sticky, stuffy, dusty and old. Broken seats. Stains on the screen from soda (or??) being deposited and never cleaned off. All three movies start at the same time (stagger start times??) so the line for snacks is a mile long. The teenagers that work there are slow like you would not believe. I was laughing out loud at the slowness...no lie. It was as if it was deliberate. Once I got my snacks, (popcorn and soda only...the candy was bulk stuff (seriously...like from Win Co) put in bags by hands that may or may not have been washed) I watched pizzas arrive well into the start of the movie, obviously disruptive of my movie enjoyment when people behind me yell, "Can we get more napkins?" This place made me laugh out loud, and that was fun, but seriously, you own this place? It is obvious you dont care and that is too bad. read more

Actually 2 1/2 stars - I like the pizza. The good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: pizza served at a table ...love it! The bad: small screens. Difficult stairs, hard to navigate. The Ugly: Smells, sticky floors, I wonder what's hidden in those old scratchy stuffed seats. Did I mention the smells? Still, it's the closest theater around and I like movies (and pizza). read more

I took my wife out for a movie and decided to come to this theater...big mistake. While purchasing our tickets we were subjected to teenagers hanging around the ticket booth. Got our concessions and walked in the door and seen an open booth so we sat down there was no reserved sign on it so we thought it was safe boy was I wrong. 2 minutes before the actual movie starts I notice a crowd around our booth to which my wife asks me what is going on at this point I have no idea whats about to transpire. An employee of the theater comes up and tells me and my wife that we have to move because this booth was reserved. Being asked to move because someone had to stand in a line to order a pizza is completely asinine to me I stood in a way longer line to get my popcorn and the such and I managed to make it to the booth sorry for your bad luck try again next time right? wrong I was made to move so I told my wife we'd just get our money back and go to moses lake to see the movie so we went up front to get our money back. The man at the ticket counter listened to me tell him what had gone on and I told him I'd just like my money back and to be on my way this was not acceptable to me. He kind of chuckled and told me that "we do things differently than they do things where you're from." You're kidding right...how has this place remained open for this long? In the past, we have always looked forward to pizza and a movie during our yearly visit to Sun Lakes Resort with family and friends. each July. But July 11, 2017 we did not. We ordered Reel Pizza and asked for it right away. It was delivered 1-1/4 hours later after 4 trips to the counter to see where it was at and.when we would see it. It finally came but was cold and tasted horrible. I think we will forego ever eating here ever again, if not going the extra mile to Moses Lake for our movie. My wife grew up in the area and told me about this place when we first started dating. We ended up moving back about a year ago and decided to make the drive from Moses Lake and check it out. The prices for movie tickets are lower than at the Moses Lake theater and they have booths where you can sit and enjoy a pizza or burger. The pizza is not the best I've ever had, but it's up there. Their burgers are alright, but they serve them with chips instead of fries like I expected. The most inconvenient part is when you order your pizza, you pay at one counter, but have to order your drinks at another counter. It's a small inconvenience. I haven't gone back to the Moses Lake theater since discovering this little gem read more

Oh that was a little harsh. yes it is old, really goes back to the war days, ww2, seats are actually a lil larger than new theaters so more comfy but some are way broken down..hard to get out of. I went to this theater as a teenager. Nostalgic for me. The positive thing is that the booths in the main theater are great, like if you had little kids and you wanted to go but they wouldn't be comfy? they could fall asleep bottle in hand in the booth. Mom and Dad can watch and eat a pizza which i'd have to say is pretty good. Cleanliness is an issue yes, lazy teens? they are everywhere that's no different. The owner is friendly. But all in all it's a relaxing time and for me the only alternative since i cannot sit in the regular seats becaue I am disabled. . I appreciate having the Lee Theater. read more

I would in no way take your children to Lee Theater un less your life depended on it and then even then I would question it. The manager hung up on me. I took my two grandchildren to see Angry Birds tonight in Ephrata, not only is this show inappropriate for children under five that previews are inappropriate for any child under 12 in the manager does not care and I will be reposting this every day.
