She wasn't waiting enough time for my nails to dry before putting on another coat of polish, so the polish on my nails were sticky and there was so much polish it was running off my nails and onto my fingers/cuticles to the point that my fingers were sticking together. Looked like a child had done my nails. When she asked if I was happy I said can you use some nail polish remover around my cuticles? And she pulls out a drill and starts drilling off the paint on my cuticles with the drill which hurt. She then gets me to pay and asks if I'm happy again and I said no, not really it's very messy. (That was putting it nicely) and she said oh I can fix this! And I told her no, can you just remove the polish, and I'll go somewhere else ? And she said no I'll fix it. just sign. And I didn't want to sign the receipt but she kept pressuring me to so I did and then sat down again for her to fix my nails but then she brings out the drill again and starts taking off the paint and nicks my pinky so hard I start to bleed. I asked her to stop and for a refund and she said she couldn't give me one. The manicure cost $30 and she said she could do $15 refund. And at this point I accepted it bc I just wanted to leave. I left like this. Every single cuticle was throbbing. I am so so unhappy and hate that I wasted money and wasn't given a full refund for the horrible, painful job. I'm genuinely happy to see a local business succeed, but unfortunately my experience has changed over the years. As someone who has been a regular customer for more than 15 years, I had hoped to build a relationship with a dedicated nail technician or receive a bit more personalized service. That has never really happened. I've also had multiple appointments where my cuticles were cut too aggressively, causing my fingers and toes to bleed. The electric file used to remove gel polish has repeatedly left my cuticles sore and irritated. In fact, my toes are burning this morning, just as they have after several previous visits. Yesterday was especially disappointing. I requested a jelly pedicure, which was listed at $58, but I was charged $78. I wasn't given an explanation for the additional $20, so I left feeling confused. I had also scheduled a manicure, but after my pedicure experience I decided to cancel it and go home. I recognize that I bear some responsibility for continuing to return, hoping each visit would be better. Unfortunately, after this latest experience, I think it's finally time for me to find another salon. My hope is that this feedback is taken constructively. Lily' Nails has built a successful business, but I believe more attention to consistent service, customer care, and pricing transparency would go a long way--especially for loyal customers who have supported the salon for many years.
