I had already gotten a strange vibe from them. Came back the next year because it was close, they told me there was a very expensive issue. Was going to be about 2k and I needed new brakes... So I told them I'll figure it out. Went to this shop, told them what the last place said, they could have sold me BS, and I would never know. They gave me every available option, even told me I could probably fix some of it on my own if I was inclined. I had them fix everything. At the end of everything it went right over half of the last place's estimate, and what do you know, I didn't need new brakes.

I asked how much it would cost to grease the caliper pins and was told that it would take about an hours worth of labor. Late the next day I got a vm stating that the truck was ready for pick-up. When I picked the truck up, the bill was over $450. The caliper and brake shoes and brake hose had been replaced. I didn't ask for that. At the very least, I should have received a phone call with the update that was necessary. I would have asked him put it back together and repaired it myself. On top of that, he couldn't produce the take-out parts. His response was that he was just trying to make a living. This is a small town. Stuff like that generally doesn't happen here.

They quoted me $500 for the job over the phone. They worked on Tapping a trouble some bolt and charged me $1200! When I picked the vehicle up I had 2 lights come on the dash. "Check engine" light and "service engine soon." 2 Separate lights that they even admitted that were not on when they started working on it! Now the vehicle randomly loses power and dies under idle. The mechanic argued with me that these were prior problems and would do nothing to provide me piece of mind of a new quote to fix the problem or work with me. Now I have a vehicle worse off than I brought it there. After the fact, the mechanic admitted to not being "an expert" on BMW's but they assured me the repair, would not cause such current problems. Now it took them 5 hours to tap a bolt for $700, without notifying me that there was complications. I use to be a regular to this shop, and I now encourage anyone to go elsewhere. Money is too valuable to be wasting it on con mechanics.

After I left, I noticed that my audio system was not working, and that the screen in the center of the dashboard was completely black and non-responsive. In addition, my car would not lock. I returned to HTA and they fixed these issues, none of which were present before my visit there, for no extra charge. Several weeks later, I noticed that the horn was not working, but since I was about to go out of town, I put off getting in touch with them about this. I know that the horn was working prior to my visit there. When I called them regarding this, I was told that this could not be their fault because the car would not have passed inspection without a working horn, and that they could not fit me in for two weeks. When I took the car to another auto repair place, they showed me how the horn had been deliberately broken. It's unfortunate that the excellent reputation the previous owners built is being ruined by the new ones.
