It looks like I teach private yoga, but really I'm just using yoga as one of many languages (tools in my toolbox) to help people to clearly see where they are stuck, in both body and mind, and thrive in the life that they already have right now.
My ideal client is someone who finds themselves in a life transition, either by choice or by circumstance, and sees it as an opportunity to grow. After all, we are either expanding or contracting, and there is nothing more exciting for me than to work with someone who is rapidly expanding their perspective and with it their future potential.
Private yoga classes are:
- In your home (save the awkwardness of doing yoga in front of strangers).
- Around your schedule (no looking for parking or sitting in traffic).
- Completely personalized (taking into account your body type, your fitness level, your personal goals and most importantly what's going on in your life at the time).
History
Established in 2003.
After ten plus years in the corporate world, including most recently having founded my own sales consulting firm, I decided to shift gears and focus on the softer side of life - the part dominated by the heart.
I began my teaching yoga in Miami, teaching group yoga classes at some of the most beautiful clubs and spas in the world (The Four Seasons, The Mandarin Oriental, The Biltmore, Fisher Island etc.).
Now some 7 years later, I have taught many thousands of yoga classes to a very diverse audience ranging from billionaires to stay-at-home moms to teenage girls to 80 year old grandmothers, and even a former Ms. America!
As of late my focus has become working exclusively with individuals and/or very small groups in a way that allows for deep physical, spiritual, and emotional growth to occur.
Meet the Business Owner: Lee K.
I began taking classes regularly in 1995 in Berkeley, California with a wonderful teacher named Barbara Herring Kaplan. It was during those anxious walks to class and the relaxed walks back from class when I first started to understand the not so subtle benefits of yoga.
Now some fifteen years later, I have studied Iyengar, Power/Vinyasa, Bikram, Ashtanga and Yin yoga styles. My practice has been guided and influenced by many wonderful Western and Eastern teachers.
I have twice been to India to deepen my practice, first in 1999 for 5 months, and more recently in the Summer of 2003 to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore (www.ayri.org).
In 2003 I completed a 200-hour teacher training program at the Miami Yogashala (www.miamiyoga.com), a program registered with the Yoga Alliance.
