***UPDATE*** We found out the day after driving the car home that the chip protection promised to be performed one week out from purchasing is actually ONE MONTH... so trying to make sure we don't drive the car on the highway otherwise the many thousands spent on chip protection seem pointless. If you cannot offer a service within a short amount of time after purchasing the price should be discounted severely... now we are shuffling around four drivers with ONE car to take to work shifts, appts, etc to avoid the new car getting scratched and chipped. This is NOT acceptable. We have two cars but one is basically undriveable for a month to protect it. Plus we don't want our teenagers driving the new expensive car. Considering the costs involved this is not a good look for Lee Johnson...and I took away one star...

Unethical Sales Tactic: Lie promising they'll match another dealer to get you in only to give you a quote of $200/month higher. I provided them a quote in email and asked to make sure they can match it because my mom has to lose money and take a day off to come with. I got a passive aggressive reply from Brian Walter saying how the only waste of time is if my mother won't qualify for the EV rebate for which she did qualify. Instead of the $377/Month their first offer was outrageous at $570+. Then I said I literally got an offer from them TODAY through TrueCar for $444/month so they went back and gave me a $461/month offer. They didn't just NOT match another dealership and wasted our time, but they couldn't even match their own quote. I bought 2 cars from them before and was about to get a 3rd one. They could just say they can't match that deal but no they had to get me in.

and forgetting deals... here at Lee Johnson, at least with Edgar, it was nothing like that! We knew going in what we wanted, and no pressure let us take it for a spin. I'm use to having the salesman be in there with us, but they let us go on our own. Pretty cool since we got to talk (bicker) about little things, talk amongst ourselves and come to our OWN decision. Walking the lot was easy and ended up upgrading on our own (pretty much because we got to talk l, debate... so the married thing, with no one around, until we needed help). From there, Edgar got to know us, tell me I get a Military discount, and really got us an incredible deal because he took the time to talk to us when we were ready. Even was honest about the pros and cons with the different trims and price points. Super straight forward, pretty fast too and BOOM, we have a new car! Thank you so much to the Lee Johnson team and i HIGHLY recommend, even if you're just looking, for honest feedback. In the end, he even sat in the car with us to show us how to use the features even after the sale was done!

recently had a disappointing experience at Lee Johnson KIA in Kirkland, despite wanting to support a local dealership. Jeffree repeatedly assured me that the car I wanted would be ready on Friday after a "thorough check," but when I tried to confirm the details the day before and on the day itself, I got nothing--just radio silence. Undeterred, I showed up that evening only to find out that Jeffree was out on that day Instead of a smooth handoff, I ended up with Alex, a salesman who was more insensitive than helpful. He had little knowledge of the vehicle's features, which was frustrating, especially since I had previously purchased the same car from another dealership. During the test drive, the audio system was non-functional, and Alex assured me it would be fixed if I bought the car. He downplayed the issue, claiming it was likely just a quick wiring fix, despite saying the audio was working perfectly when they inspected it. While filling out the paperwork, there was a mix-up with my mom's information, and we were awkwardly asked multiple times if she was a citizen. As Kirkland locals for over 10 years, this was the first time anyone questioned our citizenship, and it was both unnecessary and insulting. Julia from finance was incredibly unprofessional, making snide comments when we declined her add-on packages and getting argumentative instead of respectful. To top it off, I left the dealership with a car that had no gas in it. After being ghosted about the audio fix, I chased them down myself. Five days later, Honda revealed there was an aftermarket radio in the car. Lee Johnson had to send it to Car Toys for a new audio system, and wouldn't you know it, the left speaker blew out again less than two weeks later.. While Lee Johnson did cover the cost of a new installation and one speaker, I'll be stuck covering the next failure. Additionally, Julia entered the wrong email for my finance application and a date I never agreed to, creating unnecessary chaos for my loan process. This level of incompetence is infuriating. The stress and rudeness I encountered from Jeffree, Alex, Julia, Braulio, and Perry were astounding. Their endless apologies for their mistakes mean nothing when it's clear this dealership can't mend a broken relationship. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. After two weeks without my car, it came back on low gas and splattered with bird droppings. Thanks for the warm welcome back, Lee Johnson!

I've been in the market looking for a new car for a couple of weeks/ month. I reached out to several different dealerships as I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted and cars were moving quite quickly. My first point of contact was with Tim Johnson and he kept in contact with me throughout my entire process while I was looking and not once did he make me feel pressured, it was just an email asking how I was doing, and how he could help. I went to the dealership on the weekend, which we all know is a very busy time. I walked in and was immediately greeted by everybody who worked there. People were extremely kind and friendly. I was in and out of purchasing the vehicle in less than 2 1/2 hours and that includes the test drives that I took. Have you guys ever heard of this? It was so easy and simple. They made it painless. You can tell they work very well as a team there and I was highly impressed. Excellent customer service. If you're in the market for a new car, go to Lee Johnson in Kirkland, as they are a family owned business, and you can tell they do treat people like family. And if you are looking for a educated, easy-going, non-pressure, sales man, go and see Tim Johnson. You will not be disappointed. He even put a big red bow on my car before I left and took a picture :)

    Seltos S Turbo

We bought our Kia Seltos S Turbo here today! This was the second dealership we visited today, the first one was a horrible experience which made us feel pretty defeated and just tired, and we honestly though that was just how it was gonna go: aggresive negotiations, that feeling that you're being tricked. We experienced nothing like that at Lee Johnson Kia, thank god! We arrived and were promptly greeted and introduced to Jesse, who was super nice and brought over the 2 SUVs we mentioned we were interested in for us to look at before we even got into pricing. We fell in love with our new car & were shown up front sticker pricing & different specs. It just felt right. It felt like we were dealing with a good friend. We were there for a long time, and our 7 month old was with us. I can honestly say almost every employee now knows our baby and went by to say hi, offer food or drinks. They got us pizza while we waited, it was delicious. Overall, it was an amazing experience, you can definitely see they're focused on their clients and not just on the sales. Never thought I'd say this about a dealership but I'm sure whenever we go service our car I'll be happy to see everyone again & update them on their new friend Charlie. Thank you for a great experience.

IF YOU ARE TRADING IN A CAR, READ THIS. THIS DEALERSHIP *WILL TRY* TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU IF YOU…read moreDON'T UNDERSTAND WASHINGTON'S TAX LAW ON VEHICLE TRADE-IN'S. This dealership (more specifically the manager who cuts the deals) will try to cheat you out of money and WILL try to take advantage of people who don't understand Washington's tax credit law on vehicle trade-ins. Read about it here and empower yourself for negotiating: https://dor.wa.gov/education/industry-guides/auto-dealers/trade-ins. Basically, if you trade-in a car in the state of Washington and purchase a car from the same dealer at the same time, you only have to pay taxes on any amount you owe after the trade-in value is deducted. So, suppose you're buying a car for $25k, and the dealer accepts your trade-in worth $20k, you would only have to pay taxes on the $5k you still owe after the trade-in is subtracted, instead of paying taxes on the full $25k price of the car. So, in the above scenario: WITHOUT THE TAX CREDIT: - Pay taxes on the full $25k: you owe ~$2.5k in taxes, for a total of $27.5K. Subtracting your trade-in of $20k, you owe ~$7.5k WITH THE TAX CREDIT (IN WASHINGTON): - You only have to pay taxes on the $5k difference: you only owe ~$500 in taxes, for a total of $25.5k. Subtracting your trade-in of $20k, you owe ~$5.5k THAT IS A FULL $2,000 IN SAVINGS THANKS TO WASHINGTON'S TAX LAW. So here's where this dealership tries to be sneaky. They'll look at how much you would have paid in taxes without the credit, and then show you how you're getting credited $2k in the above scenario, and offer you $2k less for your trade-in. So now you'll be offered only $18k. But hey, you're getting $2k back in credit, so it still comes out to your asking price of $20k! Right? DO NOT FALL FOR IT! You are entitled to that tax credit PLUS the fair-market value of your car without taxes even being considered! Because let's do the math now: - $25k price minus the now lower $18k trade-in, you'll pay taxes on the $7k difference: you owe $700 in taxes. So, $25k + $700 - $18K, you will now owe $7.7k. They just negated the tax credit you would have received by offering you less for your car. What's even worse is you end up paying $200 more than you would have if the tax credit didn't exist in the first place. The salesperson helping me also implied that his manager does this all the time to people. Likely thinking I didn't know about the tax credit. And to customers who don't know any better, they think they're still getting the trade-in value of their car they wanted. Except for the fact that they should have actually gotten even more money from the tax credit if the dealership had actually bought their car at real fair-market value. NOT fair-market minus the tax credit. Please, do your research and get offers before buying and trading-in to this dealer. Carvana offered me way more for my car AND they actually apply the tax credit like normal if you buy from them at the same time. TL:DR Trading in a $20k car and want to buy a $25k car? Without Washington's Tax Credit: You owe $7.5k With Washington's Tax Credit: You owe $5.5k (YOU SAVED $2k) With this dealer's underhanded tactics: You owe $7.7k (YOU PAY $2.2k MORE THAN YOU SHOULD HAVE, AND $200 MORE THAN IF THE TAX CREDIT DIDN'T EXIST AT ALL)

We overpaid for our new vehicle but accept that as the cost of purchasing during a pandemic and supply chain fiasco. While sealing the deal they told us they were basically a used car lot because there was so little new inventory. In light of that, it was a very no frills deal. Might be different when they are a little more hungry. Fast forward to time for the first oil change, again "Meh". Called and made my appointment. Told them I'd be waiting. Then when I arrived was told it would be a two hour wait. I have never had a wait like that for an oil change at Honda or Subaru. When I mentioned a couple things I wanted looked at, I was told they couldn't do it while I waited as it would be at least 4 hours. So, I will have to update when we can get those things looked at. The service is fine (as long as you are not in a hurry). If you are looking to make a deal or feel like your business is valued, it might be better to go further out from the city. I went to the Lexus dealer in Spokane to help an older couple but a car, and the service was leaps and bounds above and beyond. They paid less for their car, too.

At that time, I was over the car buying "game" as I was having a terrible expierence with the other dealerships that had the car I wanted. My car had gotten in a collision recently and I was taking care of a newborn. I really just wanted to sign the papers from home and pick it up next time I was in town (mind you I'm an hour+ away from these dealerships).
