We've been going to this dentist for about 10 years and my last review was some years back when…read morethey first moved into this facility. Originally, I was pleased...no long wait, got you in and out, and the new environment was very inviting. However, the last few years have just gone downhill, especially during Covid. Not enough spacing between appointments and the wait and the appointments just take too long. You would think during Covid, they would make sure to do the opposite and spread appointments out for just additional spacing in the appointment area, as well as the waiting room. I typically wait in my car because of the little spacing in the waiting room. Another issue I have is the calling system. They have a call center, so you cannot call them directly to speak to someone. A little annoying if you just left and needed to ask a quick question. Anyway, my son is a teenager with adult teeth, so it may be time to just find another dentist at this point anyway where he can get individual service.

Terrible company as a whole. Not this locations specifically. Couldn't get past their call center…read more Won't even let you know who the doctor at any specific location is. Rude. What happened to Dentistry being a one on one between you and your doctor or your clinic. Now, your relationship is with an unkind general call center. No thanks.

On the day of the procedure, they presented a surprise bill for $2,800--a $1,000 increase with no prior notice. Beyond the billing issues, the front desk conduct is deeply concerning. The receptionist, Hailey, displays a clear shift in demeanor based on the ethnicity of the patients she is assisting. From both personal experience and observation, it is evident she lacks the professionalism to treat African American patients with the same courtesy as others. When I chose to reschedule and eventually cancel due to these red flags, they refused to refund my deposit. This isn't just a "misunderstanding"--it's a predatory practice. Save your time and your money.

Our older child has had decent experiences there for dental care. They have TVs above the chair to help keep them entertained/distracted. Unfortunately, once we brought our younger child, it became clear that the positive experiences only exist for compliant children. Our younger one (2 at the time) was afraid of the cleaning and was not cooperating, at least not quickly. As soon as it became clear that he was not having it, the hygienist started pressuring me to hold him down and hold his mouth open so that she could do the cleaning. I explained that, since she had already informed me his teeth were healthy and clean, we would settle for a normal tooth brushing so as not to reinforce his fear. Since he didn't really need a full cleaning at that moment, my priority was to create a positive experience so that he would not develop an enduring fear of the dentist. I also explained that, when possible, we try to respect their bodily autonomy, and I did not feel comfortable holding him down and prying his jaw open when it was not truly necessary. She replied "so if he needs a shot at the pediatrician, what do you do?" That was the moment we decided not to continue with Peak. I did not go there to have my parenting choices judged, and if they disagree that creating a positive experience is important for a 2 year old, then they are not the right fit for us. And by the way, yes, we do hold him still as needed for life-saving vaccinations; that is not the same as a routine dental cleaning. Had he needed an actual procedure, we would have figured out how to make it happen, but that was not the case. When Dr. Cassinelli came in, she was short and brusk, and clearly annoyed with us before she even walked in. This had not been our experience with her in the past; I suppose the hygienist had told her we were being difficult? Finally, they give children tokens for prizes without asking parents. When the 5 year old received one and got to choose a price from the machine, of course the two year old wanted one as well. He was given an age appropriate toy, and they would not exchange it for a token for him as well (again, I am the parent and can judge which toys my child can handle). So, in addition to being scared and having an overall terrible experience, he was also devastated that he did not get a cool prize from the machine like his big brother. A big nope for our little guy, we are switching to a new practice that will respect me as a parent and him as a full human with feelings.

The dental office is beautiful but there is a fine line between being treated as a consumer instead…read moreof a patient. They offer private rooms at an additional $100 (optional) but only in the mornings and if you agree to a private room once- the office categorizes you as a patient who can graduate from that room but only based on the discretion of the people who are getting paid by such private room⁉They will refuse to schedule an appt with a regular room moving forward. You are stuck paying for the private room and front desk can't do anything about it. This feels unethical and not in the best interest of your patients. Every other dental office will offer you a private room due to hipaa and osha ( this is a clear violation) and not charge additional. The only difference is there is a door here and not a partition. At this office they make it so the chairs sit SO close together like in a dental college ( a dental bay is a clear osha violation) - that naturally the parent will request that private room bc all it takes is one crying child to scare the others. Either way, you do have to agree to it so it's not a secret either but again feels off and completely on purpose! This area is like the, "nicest," in the neighborhood I guess and the other offices around are pretty old, making it so that these type of businesses provide care in a different way, more like you're a number and not a person. The slide and toys are nice but not what most important here. It's too bad bc Dr.Diaz was very kind and the hygienists were lovely as well. Ultimately, I thought maybe I was not the target audience until the office manager called me back to smooth things over and never acknowledged the issue. She went out of her way to tell me why the have private rooms while still not addressing that the issue is they lock you into a room you have to pay $100 additional for and therefore cant even book a regular appt without their permission, the dr didn't bother to call me and Elaina even admitted there were no notes from Dr saying my son had to stay in private room. She kept saying you could graduate (wth?) I'm paying for this!! Delusional. This state is ranked the worst in health care, there is a reason.

She had cavities at a very young age and had to be placed under anesthesia to fill and he made sure he explained the process and we had it at the hospital because he was concerned with the size of her tonsils. Long story short his concern led to her pediatrician (who had to clear her for surgery) sending her to an ear nose and throat specialist. We had her tonsils and adenoids removed and we would have never known the issue existed if it hadn't been for Dr Hicks. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The new office is absolutely gorgeous -

It's by far the most beautiful dentist office I've seen, with a lobby that looks like a Vegas hotel lobby. There's a movie room to keep your children occupied while waiting, or adults waiting for their kids. In the new office, they have a gold coin to give to them where they can pick from several candy ball-like machines as a prize. My daughter literally asked when the next time she can get a cleaning because she wanted another gold coin. Brilliant! Highly recommend!
