The two lower from teeth had minimal damage, no numbing necessary. A top front tooth had a horizontal break less than an 1/8th inch of loss. This repair was carried out without any numbing as well. The bill was $1550. I had a feeling this was excessive and it was. I recently visited a dentist in La Grande, Oregon for minor chip repair on the other upper front tooth, a previous old repair failed (done in the Bay Area). In addition, I had some decay on the side of a rear upper molar for which the filling on top was in the way. Dr. Harris removed the composite filling and removed the decayed area and rebuilt the filling. Both procedures were quick, painless and $493.00. I have had a long history with dentists and a degree in Economics, my impression is that Dr. Najim took full advantage of the situation when I was in need by charging triple what another dentist would have charged.

But I'm kind of glad I bit my old dentist, because Dr. Herndon turned out to be one of the best dentists I've ever had! I was a patient of Dr. Herndon's for about 12 years. He is very gentle and apparently very good at what he does, because other dentists and hygienists I've visited since moving out of the area have commented on how amazing my fillings look. He always took the time to make sure I understood what was going on and also took the time to be personable, which I think is rare in the medical/dental field. I wish I still lived in the area so I could continue dental care with him. This small little mountain town is very lucky to have such a stellar dentist!
