Came here upon a suggestion from a friend! My first impression it's a really nice building for a pizza joint! It's really a fancy place but inside looks like a normal pizza place. It was very empty when I got there for lunch with one really welcoming waitress! The food was ordered and arrived quickly! I had a Gochujang Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The bread was fresh and the meats were shredded well! The salad portion was huge and chicken wings were perfectly sauced! The food was tasty, environment hygienic and the staff friendly which makes this place highly recommended! Hope to be back here again someday soon! read more

My family were going here every week on Thursday for karaoke and would spend $100 on the not so great food just to have something to do as a family we even got other family members and friends to come as well also spending lots of money. Tonight we get there to find they have banned anyone under 18 on Thursday to their family friendly establishment. Kids were crushed and I'm angry, you see my kids in the months we have been going were 90% of the time the only kids in there. I feel directly attacked. Also when my mother in law came a few weeks ago to watch her grandkids sing it was hard for her to get around with her walker so not handicap accessible either. I love Ledos. I am biased since Ledos has been a tradition with my family since I was a kid. I spent a lot of time at the original location in Adelphi, MD, which is now closed. The "newer" original Ledos is now located near the University of Maryland. The franchises are different but they are required to use the same key ingredients in the signature items (sauce, pizza, soup). The best part of the experience for me is the tomato sauce. It is wonderful. It makes every single item taste incredible. You can even buy jars of the sauce at most locations. I stop in the Lynchburg location when visiting family. I signed up for the weekly emails to keep track of any specials. We love $5 Mondays. Hubby loves Calzones. You can order a $5 Calzone and pick your three favorite toppings. There is nothing better than having the aroma of a Ledo pizza while driving. The selection includes much more than just pizza. The minestrone soup is wonderful, even though the original recipe has been tweaked over the years. The ravioli is decent. We mostly order pizza cause that's how we roll. read more

It's been 4 years since my last review. I have gone back. This time the pizza was very good. Got the extra cheese I asked for. It was cooked perfectly. The waitress was great. The cashier was pleasant. Will definitely go back. After growing up with the original Ledos in Maryland you expect it to be right. All other dishes are completely different from Ledos, but good. We were so excited that there was a Ledos close by in VA, as we ate at Ledos in Maryland once a week. I eat at this place fairly frequently. The pizza here is always prepared well and I have never once had a complaint about the food. The ingredients are of fairly goo quality but sometimes could be of the fresh variety as opposed to canned. But knowing the ingredients fairly well I go here when I'm in the mood for it. If I'm in the mood for more of a gourmet pizza I go to Waterstone or Rivermont pizza. The nice thing about Ledo's is that the service is almost always great and the prices/portions are excellent. Another great thing about the menu is that it contains a whole lot more than pizza. Some appetizers there rock are the fried ravioli and the garlic bread with melted provolone. Also if you like calzones or Stromboli then you gotta try them at Ledo's. The Vege calzone is godly. All in all another great pizza place on Lynchburg that's cheap and supremely delicious. read more

Ledo is a restaurant chain familiar to those with ties to the Washington, DC area (the first Ledo was founded in 1955) and distinguished by its light-crusted, square pizzas. Most people who try Ledo say it's unlike any other pizza they've ever had. The star here is, naturally, pizza. The aforementioned crust is distinctively thin, flaky and light, and rolled out square - served on a rectangular tray. The crust is somewhat similar to a Pillsbury crescent roll. The tomato sauce is sweet, and toppings include generous amounts of cheese and choices of meat and veggies. My favorite is the Deluxe, which comes with four kinds of meat (thick slices of pepperoni, ground sausage and hamburger, and either regular or pre-cooked bacon) plus 'shrooms, onions and green peppers. Don't be squeamish about opting for the raw bacon: it fully cooks in the oven and the small amount of rendered fat infuses the pie with wonderful flavor. Since Ledo Pizza is located just over the Campbell county line you'll be able to save some money by avoiding the Lynchburg City food tax. This is a good place for pizza. They have square pizza. All thin crust. Maybe best as a carryout kind of place. Because the service is hit or miss. One waiter there is maybe the best you ever had. Then you go in another day, the waiter is maybe the worst. Don't bother with the crab soup. There's no crab in there. Waiter says there are little flakes of crab. I placed a catering order with Ledo for a party recently and I was not disappointed. I worked with Frank (who I think in the manager) and he was delightful. Really pleasant and helpful, especially when I needed advice on the menu. He delivered all the food to me on time and in the wind and pouring rain. Great atmosphere. The sauce used for pizza, calzones, etc. is wonderful. I dined on a ham and cheese calzone (5 bucks on Mondays). Not too bad, but not what I was expecting. In my experience, calzones have ricotta cheese in them and sauce is not in them. Not the case here, which was disappointing. The crust wasn't my thing. It tasted like and was as fragile as a cracker. Called in to order. Recently won one of there weekend giveaways on Facebook for an 18" cheese pizza and 4 Hillcats tickets which I was super excited about because ever since they relocated I've been wanting to try it. In addition to getting my free pizza I also ordered 1/2lb buffalo and 1/2lb bbq boneless wings which for the price they were so delicious comes with your choice of ranch or blue cheese. I called to place a carry out order. I asked about a special that only ran on a specific day of the week (which I sincerely did not know). The woman who answered the phone did not know either and asked a male co-worker. I could hear him in the back say, "I don't think today is Friday", then both laughed in the background. The woman stated that it's only on Fridays and I told her that her co-worker did not have to be rude because I did not know. Canned mushrooms are the devil. The family was in search of a meal on the day after Christmas, decided to go here after leaving the mall. HOW did we drive past another place to get here? The ONLY benefit to this place was the Campbell County tax, so what did we save... like $1? Oh, I am so angry that I wasted my time in this place. We all ended up ordering stromboli or calzone. Now, in the REAL world - the difference between the two is that ricotta is in a calzone, not in a stromboli. In the Ledo universe, they put the sauce in the calzone, no thought of it in the calzone. I do not like ricotta or sauce, so I went for the stromboli. I foolishly asked for mushrooms to be placed in my meal. After a long while, they delivered most of our food, but they prepared one persons improperly, so there was more of a delay. The way that the calzone is folded is significantly larger than the stromboli. But, the dough overlaps more with the stromboli. Well, I ended up finding out the drawback to that... my dough was not done! YUCK! And, they may have put a grand total of 3 tablespoons of cheese in the whole thing. Double yuck. So, it took me a few moments to catch on to the fact that the reason why the melted cheese was not so cheese was because the melted cheese was not cheese at all, but raw dough. Didn't complain.. why? Because I did not want anything else from this place to be offered. Take your money and let me go.... Do better, Ledo's. We have been to Ledo Pizza a few times before this visit and the service and food has always been satisfactory. During this particular visit the restaurant was pretty busy since it was during the late part of the lunch hour. My wife and I ordered a pizza and my daughter ordered a chicken calzone. The pizza was good but they brought a vegetarian calzone for my daughter rather than the chicken calzone she ordered. In addition to this we waited probably an hour for our food. When we let the manager know about our daughter's calzone he comped that part of the bill, so all we paid for was the pizza. Fair enough, but the long wait was enough that we probably won't be going back. read more

Horrible! I have been here so many times. Loved their pizza. However tonight was the last time I will go here. After being told "just sit wherever you want." My party and I say for 10 mins before being acknowledged from the server staff. They were short staffed and I understood. 20 mins later we got our drinks. All in total we sat for almost 55 minutes with no food, no acknowledgment from the manager who was bussing tables. After that I stood up and walked out. Came back in to tell the server that he could cancel the entire tables order. With a surprised look on his face I tell him that people were sitting adjacent to us arrived 20 mins after us and they have their food. I will NEVER come here again.
