I overall was not impressed. During the afternoon on a weekday, it seemed like I walked into a frat party based on the customers that were there and the noise level. It took longer than expected to receive my order, which was an eggplant parm sandwich. Unfortunately, the eggplant was undercooked and too lightly fried. The cheese was decent and generous but couldn't mask the texture or taste of the raw eggplant. I really wanted to enjoy my experience here since it's so close to where I worked, but I would very much hesitate to return back. read more

Really unfortunate. I thought I had my "non chain" pizza spot. Ordered online came in 5 min late, pizza hadn't even been started. Technology error which happens I get it. Nothing to make up for it a free drink or anything. Again it's fine. Get home pizza isn't what I ordered. Call to get fixed they say credit or come and get a new one. I go get a new one and they ask for the old one? This again is about 45 min past the original pick up time. They take old pizza, I wait for new pizza, nothing done for the customer to drive up there twice and screw up the order. That's not how a local joint should treat customers. Jojo's is hands down my favorite pizza spot in town. As someone who grew up in the Northeast, I know what proper New York-style pizza should taste like -- and this is it. Crispy crust, foldable slices, just the right balance of sauce and cheese. Every bite takes me back home. I probably stop by once a week (and it'd be more if I wasn't trying to shed a few pounds). It's that good. In a small town like Lynchburg, it's rare to find this kind of quality -- and I'm genuinely thankful for it. The owner is an awesome guy too, which makes supporting Jojo's that much better. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. This place is the real deal. read more

We love their pizza. But just had the worst customer service experience ever. Ordered a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza, arrived at pickup time and they hadn't even started it. We stand there and wait for them to make it, get home and it's a full pepperoni pizza. We call and tell them about the error and our options are to be credited for the pizza, or they can make us a new one. So we go and get a new one and they require us to bring the wrong pizza back so that they can throw it away!? So we bring back the old pizza & get a new one that is still about 3/4 pepperoni. They were not busy. At no point did we get any kind of apology or suggestion of a free item for the experience we had. Just bad all around. read more

First, let me start by saying I have known Jojo for a decade. I love catching up with him and swapping Brooklyn and Staten Island stories and he laughs when I order Manicot. (Manacotti for non Italians). That being said, i was in there today aroinf 3pm (11-7). I ordered 3 slices to stay, 1 large cheese to go and manicot with a meatball. I had to tell the "manager" (who wore a gray beanie) my order at least 5 times. I ate my pizza and grabbed the 'to go order'. I get home and i received spaghetti and a meatball. I call Jojo's and spoke the the guy who took my order. I asked if he was 'high' because after giving my order to him, at least 5x, he stilll got it wrong. First and last time I have this places food. The pizza was the worst! Salty, hard, chewy dough. The garlic pizza had just big clumps of garlic dotted throughout. I've been sick to my stomach off and on since I ate this pizza. Never, ever again. read more

My last review was in 2015- In the interim, we ordered pizza many times and were happy with it. The most recent time, though, I ordered a "Grilled Chicken green salad. " The salad was nice (see below) but the "grilled chicken" had a few negatives . . 1) the chicken came in little slabs of more or less uniform size, covered with some kind of coating and it was fridge-fresh cold by the time we received it- there was no doubt it was frozen and certainly not cut and prepared by an Italian nona from Naples. 2) the chicken was mostly tasteless and smelled vaguely as if it had been stored in the "anchovies" bin before serving. By the time I had eaten about half of it I began to worry and tossed the rest, along with the rock hard "croutons". 3) I had ordered a mixed green salad but they gave me a "Caesar" salad, in that it was made of chopped romaine. There was no dressing provided. I suppose this was an anomaly but I will not order chicken anything there any more. read more

They have a nice variety of delicious pizza by the slice in the display case for you to choose or you can get a cheese slice & add whatever toppings you want. A friend and I decided to give jo jos a try due to the positive feedback on the site and were very disappointed. We ordered a good cross section of the menu to give some variety as well. Our order is as follows... 1 slice of the works pizza 1 slice of the Chicago pizza 1 sub FILIPPO'S FAVORITE 1 small salad with Italian dressing 1 appetizer sampler 2 bottle drinks First off the pizza arrived before the appetizer and was luke warm at best and just ok..then the sampler came and was just standard frozen box appetizer mix but with very watery ranch ..like it could have been a ranch vinaigrette then the sub and salad came up and helped to confirm our poor choices in life coming here ...the sub meat seemed very low quality and the salad was mostly large chopped romaine that had turned brown on the edges and was disgusting. All in all a terrible meal and we won't return also the menu was outdated price wise and the current total for that failed attempt at lunch was 58.04.....we threw most of it away and now I wait for diarrhea to strike from what I did manage to get down out of pure hunger... read more

The food is great, when you get the right/whole order. My family orders takeout frequently from here and it is hit or miss. The owner is very personable and friendly but the woman that is usually at the register isn't friendly or helpful at all. Tonight we ordered takeout and I ordered the grandma pizza (picture of description attached). What I got was a normal crust pizza and when I asked the woman at the register if it was the correct pizza because the one in the display window was labeled as a grandma pizza and was on a thick garlic bread style crust she stated it was right and walked away. I could be wrong but the pizza I got didn't match the description at all (pic attached). I wish there was better consistency and friendliness. read more

Convenient delivery service to the hotels near River Ridge Mall (helpful to those from out of town). Good food too! I was surprised they offered a veal parmesan sandwich, and it wasn't half bad to boot! The cheese crispy rolls were tasty, especially dipped in ranch. The fried ravioli was decent, surprisingly still warm despite being delivered. The margherita pizza was just okay... they put HUGE chunks of garlic all over the pizza which was just too much, even for an Italian such as myself. This was my only gripe, though. To finish off, we had a cannoli. Not sure if they make it in house, but it was tasty and there was cinnamon sugar dusted on it, which was different. read more

I like JoJo Pizza. It's just ghetto enough to be quaint and the pizza is a reasonable price. We have ordered from here twice--once a carry out and the other time dine in. In the vein of quirky, their building is just so...rigged up?...that it's kind of cool. There's no real decor and there's a pool room that looks like it's never used or just used after hours by the owners and their friends. Plus they have a giant pizza and they have decent beer (i.e. not just Coors and Bud). I like the locality and prices so I'd probably eat here again for sure when I want a local pie. Got this recommendation from a guy I met at the Weeny Stand #1 and hey, he was a cardiologist so both hotdogs and pizza must be good for you. I went in a got a large pie with pepperoni and sausage, and also a small tossed salad. The salad came with a ton of stuff on it. The pizza was good - nice crust, not too greasy, get chew on the crust, nice toppings - all in all a very decent pie. I would totally go there again.
