BLAND pizza. I don't know what has happened to the usual Ledo pizza recipe but it was completely flavorless. I have never had such tasteless pizza before even with pepperonis on my pizza. My brother said his chicken tenders and fries were ok. I would recommend the place if you're not going for pizza. My server was kind and attentive. I visited Ledo for the first time yesterday. It clearly is a town favorite as it was quite busy at lunchtime. They have a good array of menu items, from salads to pizza to various sandwiches. The staff were friendly and that's always a plus. The place was clean too. I tried the fries and they were solid - nice, large and crispy but I would have preferred a little extra seasoning to give them a burst of flavor. I also tried the hot honey pepperoni pizza. I'm glad I got this instead of the regular pepperoni pizza because the pizza would have been quite bland otherwise. The honey drizzle, while definitely not hot, did provide a sweet savory flavor to spice up the pizza. I also liked the consistency of the thin crust. If they just step it up a bit in the seasoning/flavor category I would definitely step up the rating! read more

I am late posting this. I am a Pizza lover! (Actually, I am a lover of many food but I digress). I don't know what they do to Ledo's pizza to make it taste so good but its flavor and the mix of cheeses is one of the best to me. I had most of my Kids and Grandkids over for our annual Christmas PJ photos. We were really late this year as we went out of the country in December and time got away from me, etc, etc (and none of the Grandkids cooperated in the picture anyway). Wanted something easy that all my kids love. Ledo's was the perfect choice. Ordered the 18 in Big Mama pizza(that's what I call it!)for pickup in La Plata. Walked in and the restaurant was very festive. They have a nice sit down restaurant that was full of People having a good time in the holiday spirit. Staff was friendly and my pizza was ready on time. It was delicious and we loved it! Easy peasy and there were no leftovers! You already know I have Ledo's on speed-dial. I guess I am dating myself. I too unfortunately agree with gentleman below. Ever since the ownership change this Ledos is not the same. I have yet to get a bearable steak and cheese since. All three have been thrown away. I know some people who love this place, so it's just polarizing. That said, I saw a 5 cheese tortellini chicken alfredo offering. This was bad. It tasted like a lean cuisine. Ordered a pizza to pick up. Medium pepperoni, sausage, half mushroom, and extra pizza sauce. The pizza received had 4 squares with 2-3 mushrooms and skimpy pizza sauce. The crust lacked sauce so that you could only see the cheese and two meats and very few mushrooms that we were charged. Over the years, Ledos has been skimping on the sauce which is what makes their pizza so good. Ledos please add more sauce to the crust. Instead of using 1/4 cup add another 1/4 so we can taste that special Ledos sweet tomato sauce!! Take it from a loyal customer, add more sauce! Neighborhood staple and one of my favorite pizza places. Ledos has become somewhat commercialized. From the purchasable marinara sauce to the partnership with Urban Bar-B-Que. They have even sponsored some charitable races(upcoming 5k) but sadly that Classic menu died with all the new enhancements. In its place leaves a LOT to be desired. This place is unbelievable. I have refrained from writing this review because, they were the only place in La Plata where you can get half decent food but, it's time. They continue to disappoint. Today I ordered boneless chicken wings and did not get the typical ranch or blue cheese dressing that is offered at no cost, instead I asked if I could have honey mustard as I have done for the past six months without issue. Well, after six months of getting honey mustard for my boneless wings, they decide to charge me for the honey mustard; mind you, I did not get ranch or blue cheese with my order as is normally offered. I spoke to a manager and he said they have to charge for extra sauce. I think I would understand if I actually received extra sauce however, I didn't get any sauce and the honey mustard was my sauce instead of the typical ranch or blue cheese. The manager couldn't explain why I was charged for honey mustard this time.... But, I mean, that's really the level of customer service I've come to expect in La Plata based on my experiences since I've moved here. Continuing on, the food is never hot when I get home, it's always cold. I live less than 10 minutes away, how does a pizza get ice cold in 10 minutes? I ordered garlic bread and specifically tell them do not put cheese on the bread, well I get cheese on every piece of bread. I order beef on my pizza and, there's barely a piece of beef on each slice.... The inconsistencies are maddening. I don't think it's too difficult to give people what they order. And to remain consistent, if you don't charge someone for six months, don't all of a sudden start charging them.... It makes no sense. I love this restaurant which is odd because I'm mot a fan of their number one dish - their pizza. My kids love their pizza though. It's not bad pizza it's just not a style I like. It has a thin crust. That seems more like biscuit dough to me than pizza dough and the sauce is extremely sweet. Haven't eaten at Ledos in La Plata in a couple of years just got the spaghetti with Italian sausage which was upcharged $1.99. Paid $10.48 it usually comes with two links of sausage. All I got was spaghetti with sauce and a couple of crumbled up sausage, like the kind that they put on the pizza. I also got a supreme medium pizza, absolutely terrible, so greasy and so many onions and greens peppers it over powers the whole pizza. Can't eat. Would like my money back. I called in to place an order from the parking lot. I sat there talking to the barber next door for 5 minutes and 20 seconds on hold. The entire time there were two cashiers at the counter with absolutely no customers at the counter. So why was I on hold for 5 minutes and 20 seconds? As an Executive Chef this would be unacceptable from the front of the house in my kitchen...PERIOD! What makes matters worse is that I was lied to. After waiting on hold in front of the establishment for 5 minutes and 20 seconds I decided to walk in to inform them that I've been on hold for to long. They are VERY VERY unsanitary if you ask me. I ordered my food and waited with my girlfriend. As we we're talking, I'm realizing that the front of the house is all women with long loose hair and not one of them is wearing a hairnet. Went to this place upon request of my pregnant sister in law. The place is okay. Service was fast and attentive. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel and hot honey pepperoni pizza. The pretzel by itself was okay. Much bigger than I expected but it came with marinara sauce and a spicy mustard "sauce" but it was more like dressing. The mustard was not good and marinara with a Bavarian pretzel just doesn't make sense nor taste good. So that was disappointing. The pizza flavor wise was good. I liked the concept of hot honey and spicy thick cut pepperoni but the pizza was extremely greasy. So I was a little disappointed with that as well. The 411: this is a Maryland chain that serves its own variant of pizza: thin crust in a square shape. This place has the potential of being great, but inconsistent quality makes it suffer highly in my opinion. I grew up eating at this place. I'm forever a fan of their sweet and tangy honey mustard. I would dip almost anything (including my pizza...seriously...try it) into a cup of this liquid gold. French fries, wings, pizza, salad. It's all good with this sauce! Their pizza has been really good. And I've even gotten sick here before. Yet I always seem to end up eating here once in a blue moon regardless of the 1-2 times I've gotten a bad tummy ache from here. Hence my lowered rating for shoddy food quality. Crust: thin, especially on the edge. A little crispy on the outside but largely doughy. Would like a little more crispness to it. Sauce: chunky and extremely sweet. Not exactly my favorite but it's quite the crowd pleaser. It's better with the spaghetti instead of the pizza, but again...it's very sweet. Cheese: decent, nutty cheese is used on their pizza. I might be wrong, but I think the extra oomph comes from them mixing mozzarella with provolone cheese for their pizzas. It certainly makes the cheese feel heavier on the slice, but it does add some extra flavor. Toppings: canned mushrooms (NO!!) Thick pepperoni (decent) Big chunks of sausage (YAS BOY) They serve bacon bits or fresher bacon (be sure to clarify which one you want) They serve a whole mess of other toppings that I'm forgetting to mention as well They also serve subs, pasta, calzones, beer (if you like that sorta thing), wings (WHICH ARE VERY GOOD), and a bunch of other stuff. I personally enjoy their ledo Stromboli, which is just a whole mess of provolone, pepperoni and salami wrapped in their dough and served with sauce on the side. HOWEVER, it's only good about 75% of the time, as shoddy quality has left it being served quite undercooked. I've bitten into it only to be met with a huge chunk of wet dough. Unappetizing. Bottom line: this place could be fantastic, but uncompetitive price and shoddy kitchen work leave me reluctant to boast this place to visiting friends. I'd much rather eat pizza hotline in la plata. The one thing that's very noticeable is the total lack of diversity in staff. This is an all white establishment. All the gazillion waiters are white. 5 Girls behind the counter...white. This was my first time eating at Ledo's. I like to try new places and was turned on to Ledo's by a friend. I ordered over the phone and the waitress was very helpful and polite. She informed me my order would take 20 minutes. I arrived promptly at the 20 minute mark. My pizza was hot and ready. The waitress who checked me out was very friendly and just before she handed the pizza over asked me "how does this look?" The scent and sight was almost overwhelming. A beautifully baked pizza pie . After paying and before I reached my car I was compelled to taste this new found glory. I picked one of the banana peppers off my pizza and ate it quickly. I have never had to wait on the table. The food is always good and hot, and sometimes I call for carry out and the food is just as good.
