The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

Also want to add that Stewart (when he came for the home visit) was wearing a mask and gloves to protect against COVID (a welcome sight). By the time we arrived at Pet ER, there was nothing they could do to save our precious Mickey. Indeed, he passed somewhere during our frantic drive, between our house and their facility. The care and compassion that shown to us by the Pet ER of Columbia staff in immediately bringing us to an examination room and verifying that he was beyond saving was the best care one could ask for. Above that, the staff's offer to allow us time to say goodbye to our beloved family member, in our shock and grief, despite a busy waiting room filled with other customers was as much medicine for my wife and I in our shock and grief, as any pills. The Pet ER of Columbia staff displayed tremendous care and understanding in advising us regarding Mickey's final arrangements and then later when we collected his ashes. Already impressed by their professionalism and care, we were surprised and touched when unexpectedly, two weeks after Mickey's passing, we received a condolence card in the mail, hand signed by each of their staff. We did not get the opportunity to experience Pet ER of Columbia's veterinary services. If the compassionate, consideration for us as owners is any indication of the care they show for our furry family members, then I have no doubt that this review would be a glowing endorsement. We had the privilege of meeting Dr. Gizachew Kifle, and it was one of the best experiences we've had in our journey of caring for our senior dog. We've been to multiple animal hospitals over the years, and Dr. Kifle truly stood out. He listened carefully, explained everything thoroughly and honestly, and made us feel seen and supported. We walked in full of fear and walked out with peace of mind. The staff was also incredibly kind and patient. especially Jasmine, who took the time to answer our questions and ease our concerns.
