PROS: -Shopkeepers don't work on commission, and that becomes insanely obvious when you step into the store. Whereas we had someone on our tail constantly and trying to upsell us and offer better deals ("well, I can take $200 off that price right now!") when we went to another mattress store, we got lovely peace and quiet here. The sales associate welcomed us and pointed us in the right direction when we came in. Then he went back to his post and allowed us to look around with supervision. He occasionally came and checked in and asked if we were finding everything okay, but we had the ability to lay on and test the mattresses in peace without feeling rushed. -Associate was also pretty knowledgeable. He didn't seem to have too many specific details about things, but he was very familiar with the mattresses and how they compared. He also had very detailed information about all of their programs/buying process. -Nobody tried to sell us anything we didn't need. They were happy to explain the differences between the more-expensive and less-expensive options, but it never felt like we were being shoved towards the more-expensive one. He seemed to want us to be satisfied with our purchase - whatever it was. -They offer a 1-year happiness guarantee. If you find that it's not a good fit for you within one year, they'll take it back (minus a $50 surcharge fee) and give you full credit for the mattress. That's LEAGUES above other programs in town (which was 30 days and 100 days at other stores). -They have some coil-designed mattresses, some hybrid designs, and some pure memory foam designs. Mattresses range from $300-ish to $3,000-ish. There's a simple pricing structure laid out on every mattress with the breakdown of prices - how much for each size option of that type with various foundations or other options. No guessing or feeling uncomfortable continually asking a sales associate. Nothing seems marked up or unreasonably priced. -They also sell sleep accessories like sheets, memory foam pillows, and mattress protectors. -Mattress was delivered next-day with absolutely no problem for free in Ames. Evening of purchase, we received a call giving us a 3-hour window for the next day. Mattress was delivered in that window during the next day. CONS: -Relatively limited selection of brands (mostly Restonic), and they don't have the ability to special order any other brands.

Upon entering we were greeted by Chris. A lovely clerk, but in the end, not very helpful. We told the Chris that 1) we were not familiar with the brands that they carry so we would rely on her knowledge and 2) we are in Iowa less than five months out of the year as we are retired and homestead in Florida. She steered us to the HomeStretch brand for a loveseat. Specifically, I asked her about durability because I have had Lazy Boy furniture in the past and had been very happy with it. She responded by saying that "Lazy Boy isn't what it used to be" but that this Homestretch would be good. Ok so we trusted her. My husband who is 6' and less than 200 lbs is the only person that sits in this chair. Within six months the chair was leaning and the seat part of the cushion was shot. Because we are in Iowa only five months out of the year by the time I returned to Iowa to report this collapse, the "warranty" was out of date by about one month. We were to pay to have someone come out to look at the piece ($50) and then they would evaluate the cost of repair. Chris was able to get the initial $50 fee waived, but the total cost of the repair would be about $350 including a pick up and return delivery to our home. $350 repair job for a piece of furniture a year old. If I wanted crap furniture or virtually zero customer service, I would have gone to some low end big box store. I don't recommend Redekers at all. My husband and I were small business owners for 40 years and never treated customers so poorly. I'm sure Redekers is in the Ankeny area regularly so I believe to waive the pick up and delivery charges for the repair of this furniture would have been the better decision on their part particularly because the furniture is so new. They chose not to work with us and that is poor judgment on their part. I would not go back and purchase another item from them again. Lousy.

The furniture here is a bit pricy but it's super high quality!! Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. He was wonderful! The showroom is well laid out with plenty of room to move and test out mattresses! They have great sales. And great every day prices!! Homemakers' is a place you can get some quality pieces at a reasonable price.

The couch was delivered with a broken selectronic headrest on the chaise. It took the company a week to replace it. Within a month the armless recliner mechanism broke. We bought the warranty Unfortunately they are only able to come out Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:00. Which is when my husband and I work so they could not fix it. We tried to return it but they told us it was outside the 30 days and wouldn't let us return it . We also asked for a refund for our warranty since we can never use it because we work during normal business hours and we were told we had to contact a different company for that .They agreed to exchange it but brought the wrong piece. So one month later ( having a recliner stuck out open in the middle of our living room) we finally got a working armless recliner. Then 3 months later the armless recliner broke again and we went through the exact same problem and it wasn't replaced for a month because first they tried to send out a service person when we weren't home, then sent out the wrong thing before delivering the right piece. I have spent so much time on the phone and chat with this company and I can honestly say it is one of the worst companies and customer services I have ever experienced in my life. The only good part of the company is the delivery guys who I tried to give credit to but come to find out they are third party and don't even work for Bob's. I will never buy anything from this company and will try to stop anybody I know from buying anything from this company.
