After shopping in other various furniture stores, we found Redekers to have quality furniture. Knowing what we were looking for, Hunter, our salesperson, graciously handed us the tape measure to begin our search explaining he was there to help when needed. We purchased a sofa, loveseat, two end tables, coffee table, sofa table, and a very solid recliner for the living room and very attractive shelving unit for nine of my antique mantle clocks. Also thanks to the delivery service as our furniture was covered with plastic for protection and the two gentlemen were very knowledgeable regarding the care of the wooden tables as they were manufactured by the Amish. My parents bought all their furniture here 30 years ago and now my 92 year old mother is buying new furniture. I live in Austin Texas and I've been in the diamond industry for 30 years working with high end retail jewelers, consulting with them. I am so impressed with Redekers. Hunter (who is new helped us, he was very helpful and professional). We met Lee who was a joy to talk to (mom talked about the Pennsylvania House and Lane furniture they bought many years ago at Redekers and Lee loved telling us the story of Mr. Redekers and his philosophy of pricing and quality, which I could see throughout the store. I believe my parents bought their original furniture from Stan Redekers. I'll be moving back to Des Moines and no doubt I'll be shopping here. What a great experience buying a new couch! Low pressure from everyone there and we ended up with an old family friend (Wayne) that was not only helpful with our purchase but also gave us little tidbits about how to pick out the best couch for your life and usage. They are located right off of highway 30 on highway 17 in a new location that is so beautiful and inviting. Also for other parents out there, the changing room in the family rest room is super nice for a business changing table! So awesome. If you're looking for a less chaotic experience than Homemakers I'd highly suggest going for a little drive to Boone and check out Redekers! One thing to note from my parents perspective is the delivery service is not the most reliable if you are on a time crunch (we were able to do a pick up) and sometimes it seems like things don't happen when they want them to. If I could give this place negative stars I would. We bought (and paid for) 6 pieces of a sectional in July 2021. They said it would be Aug/Sept 2021 before it would be in. We recieved 3 pieces in Sept and were told the other 3 wouldn't be in until Feb 2022! We could have cancelled our order and gotten a refund at that time, but that was the ONLY option they would give us. No floor model pieces to fill our order, no discount, not even store credit for the inconvenience! They just basically said, it isn't our fault, deal with it. Now in Jan we get the call that 2 more of our pieces have arrived but they do not know when the last piece will be in. AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE US A DELIVERY FEE for the new pieces!!! read more

Went in to look for a pair of chairs. I was expecting it to be really high priced, but the prices were outstanding! Lee helped us with the chairs. We also added a coffee table. She was the right amount of helpful and giving space. We used to shop at a store in Des Moines, but Redekers will be our first stop from now on! Definitely worth the longer drive!! read more

Does this store employ sales people? Went there yesterday, carrying a carpet sample to use matching a couch and loveseat we are looking to purchase. After driving 45 minutes to get there, we looked around the store for about a hour. We asked a couple of employees questions and they pointed for us to look in certain areas but none offered to help or answer questions. I have bought alot of furniture from Redekers an had several carpet and vinyl installs. I am getting a rental ready to sell the first of July and they will be doing the carpet and vinyl install. I shopped at Redekers often, and purchased quite a bit of furniture from them over the years. Since they have moved into the new place, I have been there a few times, and found the customer service rather poor. I needed a new mattress and bedroom furniture, and was ready to give them another try today. I walked around the mattress, bedroom furniture area for over 20 minutes, and no one came to help. I saw one employee sitting at a desk looking at his phone, another looking at a computer, and neither of them looked up or in the direction of the bedding department. Another man walked by, and did not even smile or ask me if I needed help. The employees out numbered the amount of people shopping, so it wasn't like they were swamped. I was ready to buy today, but have decided to shop in Des Moines. read more

Chair was days out of warranty and broke. They picked it up and fixed the broken wood without talking to me. They charged me $69. I would have fixed it myself if I knew they were going to charge me instead of standing behind their product. Also had purchased a leather sectional for 3k. When we got it home it stunk so bad it gave us headaches and made pillows smell also. Mr Redeker came and agreed it stunk. They ordered a new one but insisted on taking old one immediately. Without a sofa for 3 months! Very poor customer service. read more

Always before we have gone to homemakers. We liked their Quality and also the prices. The sales people very friendly and helpful. Yet they left you alone so you could look at your leisure.
