Lebec Automotive - Auto Repair Near Me - Lebec, California

Great service. Friendly owner. Can't ask for more. Highly recommended. Only 10 miles from where I live.

I had a car alert pop up on the grapevine. I immediately exited and found the closest shop. I explained the alert on the car and Jeff told me exactly what I needed to do to get home safely. He was so kind to my dog and I. I was so worried about not making it home on time and with his advice, we made it home safe and sound. If I had a car issue, I know I can come here for an honest opinion. read more

Was on the road on a Friday afternoon, an hour and a half from home. My car was acting up so I pulled in. They looked at my car right away already narrowing the issue down to what they thought it might be. They diagnosed the issue and pulled the car in and had me on the road in 1/2 an hour. Old school mechanical knowledge and a very fair price for what was done. Trustworthy, fair, knows what he's doing. Thank you read more

Jeff is an honest, straight to the point kinda mechanic who does not do work that is not needed. He'll give it to you as it is and help you make the right decisions about your vehicle. If he can't solve or repair your problem, he'll know someone who is capable of doing what is needed in the area. I've known him and used him for over 2 decades. He's also pretty quick to get your repair completed. read more

Really knowledgeable and super helpful guys -- thought we had a fuel pump issue (which would leave us stranded far from home), but since the gas tank sounded hollow when they thumped on it, they thought maybe our gas gauge was faulty and we were out of gas. One of the guys drove to town and brought back 5 gallons, and voila! Many thanks for a thorough and insightful diagnosis, saving us untold time and expense! Donna W. read more

Really outstanding, honest, service. We have found our new mechanic and we are so happy Lebec Auto was recommenced to us. My husband and I both had work done to our vehicles and left with a good idea of upcoming work we should expect for maintaining our vehicles. No surprises, just good honest work in a timely fashion. Wade!!!!!! SAVED OUR LIVES.... I'm not being dramatic at all.... Just before the grapevine our 38 ft motorhome broke down. In a panic we called multiple truck companies in the area and no one wanted to help. In fact it was recommended that we call someone back in Bakersfield. While on the phone with insurance and roadside we googled other areas and took a chance by calling these guys. We figured we would get another no way, but someone was dispatched out to us in less than an hour. Temps were hot, our generator isn't the best, bugs everywhere and we were even going camping so we had one hydro flask of water. Wade got under the bed, where the engine is located, and we all kind of gasped. The muffler wasn't attached to the motor and it was clear we had a big issue. Wade let us know our brake line was melted from the engine overheating, from the exhaust break. He said we were pretty lucky the whole darn thing hadn't caught on fire. Knowing a parts store was miles away we figured we were stuck there for at least a day. Wade did his thing took off with our broken part and let us know he would take it home, retrofit it with his own welding skills and be back to get us going. As dollar signs fly past our eyes we thought all was lost. The trip was certainly ruined.... NOPE Our road angel Wade came back and fixed everything we needed to get running and more. He left us better off than when we started out. New break lines, new welded muffler, wrapped the muffler in Kevlar tape, fixed an electrical issue that was also nearby.... and we didn't have to take out any small personal loans! The kicker, he knew we had been stranded for quite some time and upon he return he brought us burritos because he knew we would be starving. WHAT A GUY! If we were ever in the area again this would be our spot. Cannot recommend them enough and cannot say enough good things about our new friend Wade. You really saved the day and our whole trip! read more

I had a breakdown on my cargo van - blown wheel bearing on the front driver's side - when traveling north from LA to southern Oregon, where we live. We called Jeff on the recommendation of the friend in the area we were visiting. He took the vehicle right in, took a look and determined the issues. Was very responsive and continued to give me updates. Within two days in this relatively rural area, he had the repair completed and at a price probably half what it would've been at a dealer. A nice guy who does NOT take advantage of customers in desperate need. I hope I never have to go back but if, somehow I do, I'd have zero hesitation. read more

Mike absolutely saved and made my day! I was traveling from the Bay Area to San Diego when I had completely unexpected car issues while climbing the Grapevine (a safety warning light came on in my Prius that indicated that I need to stop operating it immediately). I was fortunately close to Lebec Automotive where Mike quickly diagnosed the problem. We had to wait about 5 hours for the necessary part to arrive but Mike did everything he could (including staying a little late) to ensure that I could safely be on my way that evening. My scary and unfortunate situation was made infinitely better by Mike's help! read more

Jeff's the man!! Kind, professional and super helpful. On our way to Yosemite, from Venice & had a strange clicking noise on the passenger side of the car. He was about to leave for the night when we pulled up to the shop & he kindly let us in, lifted the car up & checked things out. Nothing major was wrong, just a piece of loose plastic. But he wanted to at least give us a "peace of mind". Very nice guy. Locals are lucky to have an honest mechanic like him. read more

Jeff is a great mechanic, super honest and he doesn't try to talk over your head. He accommodated us dropping and picking up our vehicle after hours and even gave us our old broken part so we could see the damage ourselves. We'll definitely be taking our cars to Lebec Auto from now on. read more

Jeff was literally an angel from above. We had brake trouble while traveling through the mountains and had to pull over to the side near Grapevine. Even though it was 4:30 p.m, Jeff immediately took us in, personally ran to the parts shop to get a new set of rotors and really hooked it up. He runs a really nice shop, does great work, and is a really nice guy. We highly recommend Jeff! read more

We were driving socal to sf and had a freak problem with our car and after check the oil stick we realized we might be due for a change. After calling around to a few local places who were unavailable till tomorrow, a nice gentleman from this local answered and stated it would be 20min for a change and quotes us a price. After arriving to the shop, we were greeter by 2 nice knowledgeable men who were able to give us some insight on why our car topped out on the grapevine. Seriously, they were so helpful and nice! We were three girls who could have been easily ripped off but not at this place. They even gave us a little discount. 5 huge stars to the men there!! read more

Jeff is the best, HONEST, detailed and up front about repairs. I've been going to Lebec Automotive for about 6 years now. Tried many of the other mechanics in the area but Jeff is the best. If he can't do the work properly he is quick to refer you to the right place. Jeff is the man! My wife and I were going from Benicia to Temecula to pick up a vintage trailer on Friday and we wanted to pick it up then head back and stop midway over the Grapevine in Lebec that same evening. I looked up some mechanics that may be open Saturday since I wanted to have the wheel bearings checked on the trailer. He was the only one that would be open and said to call him at 8 am and he would see what he could do. Well right at 8 am I called him and he remembered me and said come on down. He proceeded to spend the next couple of hours checking the wheel bearings and packing the wheels with grease. One bearing was bad but the "vintage" bearing could not be found in the area, so Jeff proceeded to sand it with emery paper and really packed it tight with grease and said we should be able to make it home. Well 300+ miles later we are safe at home and as I told Jeff when I was leaving, I have met a very nice and honest man and that he is another person I have met in my life that I will have good memories about, If you live in the area you probably already know he is a great guy, if need help while around the Grapevine stop in get the job done right and tell him Leo sent you:) read more
