I was at my wit's end trying to get my wife's pride and joy, her absolute mint 2003 PT Cruiser smogged because we recently changed the battery and the sensors would not all register. Even the Chrysler dealer in Bakersfield would not look at it due to its age, even though it looked brand new and was meticulously cared for (0 stars for them). I drove the car as the smog station instructed...and drove it and drove it and drove it...even changed the oxygen sensors...all no good. Finally, on a recommendation from my neighbor, I took it to Martin's garage. I told Jon (the owner) that I was going to have to put the car on "non op" because my registration window was running out and neither the Bureau of Automotive Repair (they sent me to a local place that does smog repairs and even THEY wouldn't touch it - 0 stars for them too) nor the DMV was any help to me at all. Jon told me to leave the car with him and he'd get back to me. Three hours later, he called. Not only did he find the problem but he took it back to the smog station and had it smogged (and it passed!) for me. Then he came to my house and picked me up so I wouldn't have to arrange a ride to get the car at his shop...and the total for all this was more than reasonable! You just don't get service like this ANYWHERE ANYMORE. This is a family-run, honest place with tremendously fair prices. Had an issue with my car. Called Matin's Garage and Johnny said to stop by the following week after work so he could take a look (it was not a real emergency and I did not want to drive to the city, sit at the dealership, etc.). He was SUPER nice, SUPER helpful, and he actually reset the car computer for free for me!! Not common to find a place that really cares about helping people like this anymore. I live in the mountain community and needed a repair on the CV axle on my Honda Accord. Jonathan repaired the vehicle and I got it back and drove it for a day. The new part was defective and caused the same problem as before the CV axle was replaced. That can happen when a re-manufactured part fails. Not only did Martin's Garage replace the bad axle, they did it without whining or fussing. These folks are a throwback to people who care about their customers. Usual story, overheated on the Grapevine, had to be towed. We first went to another garage that was open Sunday afternoon, but they said they couldn't even look at it until Monday. We left and checked into Motel 6, and searched for alternatives. Martin's is Napa Care certified, so we were under warranty, and went there Monday morning. They found the problem, easy fix, and we were out in an hour! The other place could have done the same thing, made some money and had us going that night. But then, they probably would have wanted to replace the radiator! Thanks John at Martin's, you are awesome! read more

Johnny was great. My Honda Civic 2002 had a cam sensor go out about a mile and a half from Martin's Garage. A local person recommended Martin's Garage and I am very thankful for the recommendation. My car was disabled on Saturday so it was not looked at until Monday, no problem with that. On Monday I contacted Johnny and he explained what the problem was and the OEM part was ordered. I received my car on Thursday and it runs great. Thank you very much Johnny Martin! His brother was very helpful too, since he drove me ALL the way to Valencia to rent a car. Jonathan at Martin's Garage really helped me out in a pickle. My diesel truck broke down hauling a horse up the grapevine on the way to LA, and I was stranded. AAA initially towed my truck to a different local shop that suggested major repairs, and I'm so glad I had the truck towed again to Martin's Garage upon the recommendation of a local.
