Had not stopped for about ten years but this time I again found the park a nice stop. Roadways are dirt, the pool is not heated, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of the back in spots are 30 amp as they are part of the original park. They have added 7 new drive thru sites with 50 amp and water. No sewer hookup but there is a dump station. The restrooms and showers are old but spotlessly maintained and very clean! Lots of hot water for your shower. This park accepts Passport America so it makes a great discount on the already very fair rates. Easy access to either SR 58 or SR 14. The property looked in better shape than it did the last visit. Grass around a number of sites and the sites clean and level.

All in all out experience and overnight stay was fine I would recommend this KOA going through Bakersfield there's plenty of places also to eat near by as well.

We got to Death Valley and spent less than 24 hours there because we were so miserable. We packed up the car in search of another campground and drove back towards our hometown when we saw The Castaic Lake Campgrounds. We ended up spending the rest of our week there and it was absolutely gorgeous! It saved our Spring Break Vacation. There is tons to do: endless amount of hiking trails, its absolutely gorgeous all day long- from sunrise to sunset and even at night because the lake is lit up, the air is so fresh, the campgrounds are huge, and on the other side of the lake there is millions of benches, tables, and playgrounds to hangout on. RUN! DON'T COME HERE, I LEFT!…read more Before moving here, DO THE MATH. I wish I had. Last month, my electric bill was $817. The month before, it was $728. I also pay an additional $100 electricity-related fee when i pay my own electricity, make it make sense! * $1,600-$1,800/month for the RV spot * $700-$1,000/month for the trailer * $700-$800/month for the diesel truck * $700-$800+ electric bills That's roughly $4,000-$4,500+ per month to live in a trailer. At that price, compare this place with renting or buying an actual home. While the cost has gone through the roof, the community and amenities have gone downhill. The showers have visible mold. The pool cues, ping-pong paddles, and pickleball paddles are locked up. To use them, you have to contact the office, wait for the office to contact a guard, and then wait another 10-30 minutes for access. By then, you may not even want to use them. Basic amenities have been turned into an unnecessary hassle. CLEANLINESS IS ANOTHER PROBLEM There is dog poop all over the property. It's disgusting, unsanitary, and in my opinion has reached the point of being a legitimate health concern. For what residents are paying to live here, keeping the grounds clean should be one of the most basic responsibilities. Then there are the bugs. I've camped all over this country and all over the world, so I'm no stranger to insects when camping or staying outdoors. But I have never experienced anything like what I experience at Valencia Travel Village. I get bitten constantly at night. Night after night, I'm dealing with bugs and bites, and from what I can see, management is doing little or nothing effective to address the problem. I understand that an RV park is outdoors. Bugs exist. That isn't my complaint. My complaint is the severity and frequency of the problem, combined with what I see as a lack of an effective response from management. Add that to dog waste around the property and visible mold in the showers, and I have serious concerns about the overall cleanliness and maintenance of this place. It's disgusting, and residents paying these prices should expect better. THIS USED TO BE A GREAT COMMUNITY Before I moved in, I heard that 30-40 people would gather around the pool, play cornhole, and socialize. This place reportedly once had a waiting list. Now, there are more empty spaces than ever. I also don't know a single neighbor who doesn't have a problem with this place. That alone says a lot about how far the community has declined. I've learned after the original owner passed away, management changed. I was told the previous rate was around $800 with electricity included. Now it's $1,600-$1,800 for the space, plus electricity, while the community has become less social, less welcoming, and less enjoyable. OFFICE STAFF The office experience has been just as bad. I have never dealt with a business where the staff were this consistently rude and unhelpful. The weekday office staff often have an attitude, and getting a simple question answered can feel like an inconvenience. I've had better experiences on weekends, when the staff are more polite and professional. Residents should not have to plan their errands around which staff members are working just to receive basic courtesy and assistance. SAFETY CONCERNS I have personally observed security concerns, and multiple neighbors have told me about theft and other safety-related incidents. I have also heard serious concerns involving children's safety. Those reports should be verified through official sources, but management should still take every complaint seriously. Based on my experience and conversations with neighbors, residents do not feel these concerns are being addressed adequately. I don't expect management to replace law enforcement. I do expect clear communication, reasonable security, and a serious response when residents report problems. MANAGEMENT I have experienced what I believe is inconsistent rule enforcement and favoritism. Some residents appear to be allowed to do things others are prohibited from doing. In one interaction, I felt uncomfortable and intimidated. As well as many many other residence complain about the same guy trying to intimidate residence. Overall, is that management has made everything more expensive, more restrictive, and more difficult while the quality of the community has declined. ELECTRICITY My electric bills were $728 one month and $817 the next month. Sister company so they have to pay Edison, and charge what 30% interest or more? so the company can make money. BOTTOM LINE the cost is not justified by the facilities, amenities, management, cleanliness, or overall experience. $700-$800+ electric bills. Mold in the showers. Dog waste throughout the property. Constant problems with bugs. Amenities that are a hassle to use. Safety concerns. And $1,600-$1,800 just for the space. This community may once have had a waiting list. Now, it has more empty spaces than ever.
