If you are a fan of Lebanese food, you have to check out Lebanon and Beyond. I don't often eat Lebanese food, not that I don't like it, it just isn't at the top of my list. The dinner I had at Lebanon and Beyond was truly impressive. After sharing delicious Lebanese sausages with a garlic sauce for the entrée, I had as a main the Shawarma, which is Lamb marinated in wine and herbs then served with Tahini sauce and Tomato, onion and turnips. It was different to anything I had eaten before, Tahini sauce is not my favourite, but I enjoyed it, it suited the dish and I finished every bit of it. Also they had the most fantastic dessert: A pastry filled with crushed pistachios in syrup, so good!!

This place was good. The food options were excellent. We went for the shared platter for 2. You are served up 3 courses and we made some adjustments (no red meat). The dips to start have love. You can taste it, each dip of bread was a joy. But remember don't overload on the bread..... food is coming. We got vegetarian options on the second round. Cauliflower with tahini, spinach pastry thing and falafel. I loved each and every one of these items. I had to share bites in between all of them. I couldn't quite decide which was my favorite. All the flavor and texture was so good. Definitely some the best falafel I've had in a long time. Last course we only had the chicken with salata. The chicken was juicy and succulent and garlicy...... ahhh garlic what joy garlic brings to my life. This was a good dish. I somehow had some dips and bread left and wrapped up some of my chicken devouring in all the delights around me. Eventually we stumbled out with stuffed tummies and feeling satisfied. On the down side. Service isn't the best. 1 server seems to have her stuff dialed in then the rest kind of linger around. I paid cash and was asked if I wanted change. It's possibly one of the rudest things to ask a customer.... just saying.

    Takeaway mixed plate for two

This is true Lebanese cuisine with true flavours! I ordered takeaway and got it delivered on a Saturday night. This was great because the food arrived warm and homely and tasty! Exactly what I was after and they didn't charge a delivery fee. Takeaway is also slightly cheaper than eating in. I ordered the mixed platter for 2 which consisted of hommous, babaghannoush and tabbouli, lady fingers (interesting pastry/meat surprise), falafel and cauliflower. It also consists of a skewer of garlic chicken, a skewer of kafta and shawarma accompanied by Lebanese bread salata (I asked for fattoush), tahina sauce and garlic sauce. Everything on this assorted platter complemented each other and tasted really really good! Will definitely eat here many times to come!

But the sewers were blocked and had huge crews of people working on them. The smell was...interesting and not conducive to dining, so we retreated round the corner onto Glebe Point Road and found this place. We were in a hurry so didn't have time for a full meal but what we had was fantastic. Beautiful spicy sausages. Baked kibbeh. A sort of lamb ravioli with rice and an amazing goat yoghurt sauce. They had some beautiful looking desserts as well but we didn't have time. They also had a huge range of home made traditional pickles that I am dying to try. We will definitely have to go back for a more leisurely meal when we aren't rushing to be somewhere else.

A la carte will get you more food for the same amount of money, with a better variety of dishes. Service here is generally quite friendly, although the last time I came there was a minor hiccup with our bill. When I went to the front counter to pay, I pointed out to the owner that one of the dishes we'd ordered hadn't been served to us, and I requested that he remove it from the bill. He checked my story with our waitress, who insisted (rather aggressively, I thought) that she had brought the dish out. After the waitress was out of earshot, the owner told me he was 'in an uncomfortable situation' because the waitress (note: I call her a waitress because she served us our food, but she could have been a manager or co-owner) had 'been working at the restaurant for 20 years' and 'wouldn't lie'. I maintained that I wasn't lying either. To his credit, he accepted my story and removed the item from our bill.

My personal favourites were the hummus and tabouli, balila, spinach triangles (with spinach from Eddie's own garden) and the stuffed vine leaves (which I don't usually enjoy but these were so good)! Our host for the evening Eddie (yes, THE Eddie) was humble, attentive, and had such a passion for homestyle cooking. I highly recommend giving Eddie's Vegan Eatery a visit if you live near the St George area of Sydney. From the starters all the way to the baklava and tea at the end, it was a divine experience.

All of the food we've eaten is very fresh, the banquet is good value and the platter for 2 for smaller groups also offers a good variety. The a la carte menu offers all of the usual lebanese cuisine, the serving sizes are generous and I think the prices are fair for what they offer. We've been many times and have also gone in large groups and the food has always been consistent. Make sure you finish the meal with some lebanese coffee and a sweet!

Ever since he took over the place & made it his own by changing the name & making top qaulity pizzas/kebabs it's been nothing less but perfection :D!! I love all the food at this place & have neverbeen dissapointed & that goes for anyone I've ever taken to eat here & my family & friends that have came over for a big pizza feed :D!! They have medium sized pizzas for about $6.50 - $12.00 which all taste great & fill you up & the selection is big enough for you to have to visit a few times to try all the different ones they have to offer:)!! My 2 all time favourites that i normally grab on the go is the Zaatar pizza for $2.50 which is very popular for breakfast for alot of my Lebanese friends or even as just a great tasting snack:) & the other one is Zaatar special $5.50 which is a healthy kebab you could say with zaatar spread, fresh mint, tomato, cucumber, olives & shallots :D!! He's also started making kebabs which I've never seen any Lebanese bakery do, they are so great tasting that there is no time for photos haha. Pretty sure it was on his mind before but i think the locals pushed him in the right direction after they kept asking if he did kebabs :)!! This place is by far my favorite pizza/kebab joint in the area, definately got my hooked :D!!!

This seems to attract smokers, and I think there's a hookah going on sometimes too. The interior restaurant may suffer from this, however. As a rather self-righteous ex-smoker, this would drive me mad on any potential repeat visits, but I think there's interior courtyard seating too out the back, so maybe that would be an escape. Then again, maybe it would just be more smoking section... The service is pleasant and friendly, the waitress was happy to offer us explanations of their traditional Lebanese dishes and made some introductory suggestions, which I never mind at a new restaurant or new cuisine. I have had food like this before under other labels but the Lebanese spin seems to be unique added spices and ingredients, like pomegranate seeds in the side salad, and a distinctive pita-like bread with thinner texture but equally delicious and perfect for dipping. The kebabs were tender and the side dips were garlicky and yummy. All in all a cute new place which I recommend trying, especially since there's not many restaurants with similar Middle-eastern cuisine in the immediate vicinity.
