From the moment we visited CORE, we knew it was different. The atmosphere felt more like a community or a family than a traditional school. At CORE, students are truly seen as individuals. My daughter was able to learn at her own pace, in a way that honored her autonomy and curiosity. The teachers and staff have created an environment where kids feel safe, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. There are plenty of breaks, lots of time outdoors, and built-in resources for students to access when they're struggling. My child has not only caught up--she has thrived. And although their website which is a bit simple and generic, the school itself is wonderful. We moved to ATL from the west coast less than 2 years ago. I researched preschools and set up appointments to tour in person once we moved to Atlanta; we got here and found a school which was good on paper, but less than a month in, it proved to be a train wreck. Then I stumble upon IPS, despite their website which doesn't have a ton of info and their Yelp profile, which is completely neglected (only 1 other review and not even the correct location listed), but I schedule an appointment and we are not disappointed! We met a co-director, now Owner, and there are not enough complements I can deliver to Ms. Megan or to the school. The school feels like a real school; not simply a daycare center. There are multiple classrooms for each respective "grade" level. Daily meals served are vegetarian and there's a dedicated outdoor play area. Ms. Megan, along will all the other teachers and staff I've met are sincere, supportive, and genuine. They are talented and patient with the kids. I like the exposure to multiple cultures and languages, and there's an awareness and mindfulness instilled to the children without being trendy or trying too hard. There's a strong PTO and other like-minded families abound. I'm so happy to have found them and cannot believe there aren't more reviews to sing their praises. It's a half day schedule from toddler-hood through kindergarten, with multiple options for full day care, extra curricular activities, and a flexible schedule for less than 5 days/week if desired. They also have summer camps. If you're looking for a preschool, I'd definitely check them out.

This school is - above all else - nurturing, flexible, and willing to do what is needed to give your kids and you as the parent the best possible experience. The school is centrally located to the Midtown, Ansley Park, Morningside, and Virginia Highland neighborhoods. It is clear from the moment you walk in that the school is a happy place focused on finding what is special about kids this age and letting them shine. The administrators are truly special and unique. They care about every single kid who walks through their doors and, in my experience, are willing to take creative approaches to problem solving so that each kid can work through whatever difficulty he or she is experiences and continue to grow and thrive. This approach has helped my kids to learn while gaining confidence in their individuality. The teachers too are caring - and maybe more importantly - consistent. Coming from a school where teacher turnover was a major problem, it's been so nice for my kids to see the same smiling faces day in and day out at IPS. Finally, the diversity of the student population makes the educational experience all the more rich, and when you add in the language emphasis at IPS, kids are able to gain a global perspective that is otherwise hard to achieve. Our son attended Mindful Montessori full-time from July 2021 to May 2022. We liked the Montessori…read moremethod of early childhood education, which focuses on building on the natural curiosity in every child to learn from their surroundings. During the first visit, Ms. Laxmi spent a good bit of time with our child, making him comfortable (he is a shy kid), and discussed her passion in early childhood education and her credentials. She also put our mind at ease, w.r.t. COVID precautions. We were skeptical before the tour but came away with the impression that Ms. Laxmi is truly passionate about her work and should give Mindful Montessori a try. It turned out to be one of the BEST decisions that we have taken with respect to our child's education. Ms. Laxmi and Mr. Veera had converted their basement into the school and had thoughtfully designed every aspect of the school. They had paid significant attention to the safety of the children. There is a large gated + fenced area in the backyard where the children can play. The school was well stocked with Montessori teaching aids. Our son had attended daycare since age 1 and was not an enthusiastic schoolgoer. Within the first couple of weeks of attending Mindful Montessori, he was truly excited to go to school. Ms. Laxmi embraced the Montessori method fully and encouraged our kid in areas where he naturally excelled. It built enough confidence in him to explore other areas where he was challenged. He did not enjoy painting, especially wearing the smock. He was forced to wear it in his previous school, which made him not enjoy mandatory art time. However, Ms. Laxmi explained to him the benefits of wearing the smock but gave him the choice to not wear it. Eventually, in a month, our child started to wear the smock on his own, without any prompting as he realized the benefits. He had gone from hating painting, to loving it. Her teaching methods are second to none. She follows the Montessori curriculum and stays true to the spirit of Dr. Montessori. We could see significant improvements in our child's skills across the board (writing, reading, Math and Science). In the beginning our child was struggling to write, but with her seemingly unlimited patience Ms. Laxmi was able to get our child to write, and later write well. Most importantly, she ensured that our child never felt it as punishment to do work, even if he did not enjoy doing it. He also learnt a lot of life skills that he wouldn't have learnt elsewhere. She had a special focus on overall personal development such as washing hands, wearing his jacket, organizing and cleaning up. She would send out weekly summary of activities, with pictures and notes that went beyond the typical reports received at day-care centers. She also provided quarterly detailed evaluation reports and discussed the reports with us in a 1:1 meeting. We have strongly recommended Mindful Montessori to our friends and neighbors and will continue to do so. Our child attended Mindful Montessori for just one year, but I can truly say that Ms. Laxmi has given him a strong foundation to grow on.

My 2 year old son has had his stomach pumped because of the lack of caution in his dairy ALLERGY(not intolerance) and feedings. I received a call to pick him up immediately because of his vomiting after eating barbecue chicken. Took him to the doctor and had his stomach checked. They found cheese. When confronting the new owner/director I was told 'he must've gotten the cheese pizza from another child's plate.' How disgusting. No empathy for my child's SAFETY. HE COULD HAVE DIED. 'Teachers' and 'Care Takers' are ever changing at ASKA. You can not get used to one face or new name for too long! If your child is injured- you may OR may not get an incident report sent home about it. You'll just find open wounds and get a story from your child about it(if your toddler is expressive). And when you ask the DIRECTORS, they either can't find the report or don't have one on hand. They explain that it will be sent home with the child at the end of the day... yup, you guessed it, it never shows. Bleach. Both of our children came home with a small fortune of clothes damaged from bleach. When I confronted the owner/director about it -- I was given $50 off of the following payment coming up. I asked for the money because I had to replace clothes. I even brought the receipts to the school AND sent them in an email. How inconsiderate to only offer a kickback on a payment far less than what I pay for each of my kids to attend. Children's clothes are expensive. Bullying. My daughter was bullied for about a month. I had no knowledge from the staff that it was the same student repeatedly scratching her face up or tearing and stretching her clothes. My daughter told me. And when we had a 'sit down' with the staff and director(after the 3rd mark on her body), I was told that if something happens again the student would be removed from the facility. Why does it take so long? We've had our children in ASKA for years. That clearly meant nothing. Graduation. We had our daughter attend the Pre-K program here because we didn't want to take her from her friends that she's been with since age 2. Ms. Williams was the absolute best teacher I've experienced at this facility. She's solely the reason the kids can read and write. I honestly hope she goes somewhere she's appreciated and cherished on school staff. Graduation was INTERESTING at ASKA. They don't want your kids to dress up. We were asked to put them on a white shirt and blue slacks(girls included). Our children were provided T-Shirts. No caps and gowns. When I asked the owner/director about this gray area she explained that the state doesn't pay for it so they will not honor it. What a waste of a title for a 'Private School'. Newsflash-- 'Nice' new ownership is not the same as courteousness ownership. My children's tuition is always paid AHEAD of time. In full. This is trashy treatment from a place that truthfully charges a lot for the area and calls themselves a 'Private School'. We can not wait for our son to start Preschool and continue Pre-K at another facility. The new family ownership is nice... but their negligence in dealing with the children attending, as well as their unsafe practices with the use of chemicals during the day leads me to believe they may not be in business long unless they change their policies and acts. Take your children somewhere else. Cause we most definitely did.

One thing that really stands out to me is the incredible focus on the kids. I've noticed a huge difference in how attentive the staff are. The new policy of no phones while on duty means that teachers can give their full attention to the children, which I truly appreciate. It's clear that the staff genuinely care about the kids and their well-being, and that's not something you always find in daycare settings. The new owner is genuinely passionate about her work, and I believe her love for children truly shines through. With four kids of her own, she has a deep understanding of what parents need and what children thrive on. What's more, she's always approachable and responsive. If there's ever a concern or question, she investigates promptly and goes above and beyond to ensure that parents feel heard and supported. It's refreshing to know that she's always on the side of the parents. With the owners' dedication, the supportive staff, and the great cooperation between parents, I have no doubt that All Star Kids Academy will continue to grow and improve.
