First and foremost, attending LearningFuze was the best decision I could have ever made for my career path. Coming from a non-technical background, I came into LFZ with limited knowledge on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, prior experience in tech is not required to jumpstart your career as a developer. There are pre courses that are provided to make sure you are up to speed in regards to the technologies at the start of the full-immersion course. Throughout the course, you will learn a whole lot and feel that you have the potential to become a professional developer with job-ready skills. The instructors at LFZ were extremely helpful in a way that they guide you to find solutions for yourself. During my time at LFZ, not only did I learn how to build websites and web applications, but I learned how to pay attention to important details in code, how to ask questions, and how to solve problems. The staff at LFZ have shown that they really care about the success of their students and will put out a helping hand every step of the way whenever needed. Ultimately, I have become a professional Software Developer without prior technical experience. You can't go wrong with picking LearningFuze! read more

What sets LearningFuze apart from other programs is simple - the community and the learning methodology. From the very beginning, even from the info session I could tell that the instructors cared that their students gained an appreciation and hunger for learning itself. Regardless of what technologies we were to learn, it was important that they foster that sense of intuitive willingness and passion to learn as much as possible. More than just landing a high-paying gig, the program emphasizes the lifelong commitment to craving knowledge and growth. Programming is about tenacity and willpower; those who succeed are the ones who don't give up. While in the full-immersion program I was tested to my limits as I dove into the universe of information covered - but at every step the instructors, my fellow cohort-mates and the alumni community were there for support. The great thing about LearningFuze is that the program is not over after graduation. There is a strong community among alumni who continue to support each other by providing information, knowledge and even inside job opportunities. LearningFuze also provides constant career support post-graduation, which was one of the key factors as to how I landed my first job after the program. Joining the program does not mean you can sit back, attend lectures for 12 weeks then by working by the 13th; it takes intense mental willpower and courage to make the transition into the new field. But LearningFuze is the perfect environment to foster this sense of growth and I do not regret my choice to attend. read more

Like most people I was in a job I didn't really care to much about, luckily I stumbled into programming and started self-teaching in preparation for attending a bootcamp. I wasn't sure which one I should attend though, some bootcamps have a stack that's all over the place or are brand new, I even saw a bootcamp for part-time, which after attending a full-immersion program I think it's impossible to do part time. After doing my research, attending an info session, and meeting the lead instructor I decided on LearningFuze. This was easily the greatest learning experience I've had. The environment and curriculum really help with getting the basics down and then building on top of that so you'll never feel lost or behind. There are plenty of opportunities to practice what you've learned each day and then build on it. But like anything in life you get out of it what you put into it and this is work that requires you to put in a lot of effort. There were plenty of students in my cohort who regularly stayed till 8pm 9pm and even 10pm, but then again my cohort was Dope AF so there's that. This requires your whole attention and dedication, the great part is there are plenty of instructors there to make sure they can answer any question you have and guide you in the right direction. Andy personally helped me on more occasions than I can count and quickly became one of my go to guys. I advise anyone who attends to ask as many questions as it takes to get the answer or until you understand, Dan the lead instructor and any of the other instructors are is ecstatic to answer any question you have to help you understand and make sure you get it. LearningFuze has a great track for after you graduate when you're out on the job hunt. Unlike most bootcamps LearningFuze will be there every step of the way to help you land a job from Application and Portfolio review, mock interviews, resume review, and job search tips. They even have employers they work, and they're actively looking for jobs they can setup you with too. If you follow the program, make sure you have a firm understanding, put in the work, and follow the career guidance there is no reason you should not land a job and start you career in programming. read more

I'd say I got everything I wanted out of LearningFuze. I tried prepping for the course a few weeks before it started by reading books, doing tutorials, learning on my own essentially. I had so many unanswered questions it was extremely frustrating. Not only is the team there to help you answer questions and get passed those blockers when you get stuck, but ultimately you become so self-sufficient, you're able to solve your problems and answer your own questions. A lot of people say oh the best way to learn is to build a project, but what if you don't know how to build anything or where to start!? That is what this program will help you out with. We've worked on 6 different projects, two hackathons, and I've also spent a lot of time refactoring my code into object oriented, am learning javascript frameworks, like angular, dabbled with a CSS framework called LESS, and now am making a final project that ties in twitter, Zillow, and google maps API into a apartment hunter organizer/mashup. I have no doubt my portfolio will be as fun and awesome as it was to make. The team at LF stays till 8pm daily, and shows up well before 8-9am. I'm more of a night owl so I prefer to stay later. How advanced you want to be, and how much you want to learn is entirely up to you. I was freaking out before the program about getting a job but now it's not even close to a concern. I am a huge worrier, and the confidence that this program has instilled in me and my outlook for the future has been well worth the ride. I'm so confident in my own abilities and what I've got out of the program, I have no doubt that getting a job will be an issue. I feel like I can literally go learn, build, or do whatever I want with the knowledge I have attained over the last 3 months. The key will be to stay disciplined after the program is over and make sure I code every day so I only keep getting better. read more

LearningFuze was the best decision I could have made for myself and my career. If you're anything like me, you are reading this review to research and discover the pros and cons of coding boot camps. Let my results be proof that with the right boot camp, you can be very successful. Hi, my name is Trevor. I graduated with the 5th cohort of the LearningFuze boot camp and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The boot camp official hours are from 10am to 6pm. However, the staff, which I will get to, is always willing to stay way earlier and way later. Allow me to make something very clear and obvious, you will get out of this school what you put into it. I spent 12 hours a day at LearningFuze, from 8:30am to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday and I spent about 10 hours each day on the weekend at home learning and coding. Their doors remained open the entire time I was there. If you are willing to commit the time to your education, so are they. So, let's get to Dan. Dan is the Lead Instructor & Engineer at LearningFuze. Let me start by saying this; his commitment to you is unmatched. He has a real passion for coding and with over 30 years in the industry, he has the knowledge to back it up. Sure, there are a lot of people out there with many years of experience, but what makes Dan special? I'll tell you. Dan can TEACH coding. He has the skill, passion, personality and patience to teach coding. Upon your very first hours of dealing with Dan, you will know you stepped into the right learning environment. In addition to the staff, there is Eric, Scott, Travis and Jordan. Eric is the Senior Technical Lead & Instructor at LearningFuze. He is just as passionate about coding as anyone in there and it shows. One of the great qualities about Eric is that he won't hesitate to question you on everything you are doing. It may seem odd or unhelpful at first, but the beauty of it is in his ability to help guide you through solving problems for yourself. When it comes to coding, that kind of thinking is critical (See what I did there? "Critical Thinking") and he helps you achieve it. Scott and Travis were both LearningFuze graduates and then became Teaching Assistants. Yes, that's right, LearningFuze graduates are educated enough to be able to guide and help others in learning to code. The education you receive at LearningFuze is of the highest value. Scott and Travis were extremely helpful with all aspects of our learning from answering simple questions to helping us resolve more complex problems. Jordan does the UI/UX Development and Marketing for LearningFuze. She also is a LearningFuze graduate and joined them at the end of my cohort, but even for the few weeks we had left, she was eager to help and guide us along the way. The curriculum itself is extremely comprehensive and well put together. There is a solid methodology behind how and when they teach what they do. Each subject and language is approached from a programming perspective. One of the key factors in their teaching methods is that the learning isn't just entirely focused on the language itself, but it revolves around LEARNING HOW TO PROGRAM. It is imperative to understand programming and how to solve problems and that is exactly what you learn at LearningFuze. Here is the greatest value of all; during your time at LearningFuze they give you the tools and knowledge to be able to leave their school and still be able to learn, problem solve and grow as a developer. In addition, there are countless other benefits that you get. You will have several mock white board interviews teaching you the in's and out's. They work with you to build a solid resume. Almost every week they have someone from the industry come in and give a speech or presentation. These aren't just random bottom shelf coders either; they are lead developers from well established companies like Blizzard, Fusion of Ideas, Bitovi, etc. During the end of the cohort they also prepare you immensely for what is to come regarding preparations of your portfolio and getting ready for the job search. The list goes on. So, where is the proof that it was all worth it? Simple, this should help. After about 2 weeks applying for jobs, I got an interview. I was hired the same day. The preparation and knowledge I got from LearningFuze was invaluable and led me exactly where I wanted to be as a developer. In addition, there doors are always open to alumni students. I stop by and visit frequently and they have a great alumni connection. As I stated in the beginning, LearningFuze was the best decision I ever made for myself and my career. If you are serious about coding and want to better yourself and your future, I highly recommend researching the LearningFuze website and take the leap and enroll. It will change your life. read more

LearningFuze has a great environment for learning, with instructors ready and wanting you to succeed. Tim D is the yoda of code. This bootcamp was one of best decisions of my life. You can really get a lot out of LearningFuze if you put the time and effort in, the sky is the limit. read more

What a great concept and company. It was a pleasure working with you to create a comfortable learning environment for your clients. I hope to work with you again in the future when you open more locations. Keep up the good work!! read more

LearningFuze has exceeded my expectations in every way. The teachers go above and beyond the bar to ensure you get the most out of every activity, no matter how small or big. I am currently in my ninth week of the program and loving every minute of it. If you want to learn web development, LearningFuze is the place to do it. read more

The Learning Fuze staff know what they're doing and they genuinely care for their students. Their project based curriculum is on point, their staff is available before and after hours, and they understand the industry inside and out. They even bring in guest speakers from tech companies, employees in the field, and recruiters to give you first hand accounts on hiring practices and workplace environments. On top of all the hands on learning and technical assignments they know when to relax and have fun. I completed the full immersion course and I honestly feel like I got what I paid for and so much more. read more

I recently graduated from the Full Immersion program, and I would 100% recommend LearningFuze to any prospective students. Over a year ago, I started considering my career pivot from digital marketing into web development, and LearningFuze was one of the schools that stood out to me while researching online. I read a bunch of reviews, started to teach myself with free tutorials, and finally attended an info session in January. I got to see for myself how honest, genuine, and dedicated the LFZ staff are towards visitors, students, and alumni alike! I felt no pressure to choose them, but they are wholly there for you in your decision making process and beyond. I joined the two prep classes to get a feel for their teaching style and to gauge my own readiness for the full immersion program, and I dove in shortly after that! The following 12 weeks brought a tidal wave of new material, constant challenge, and personal growth. Going into the program, I knew I wanted an efficient/fast-paced learning environment, mentorship, and like-minded peers, and that's what I got from day 1. Every week ramps up in intensity, building on the knowledge and practice from the previous week. In lectures, we were encouraged to engage with the instructor and discover our blind spots as quickly as possible. In solo projects, we applied that week's core concepts while given opportunities to stretch our toolset a bit more each time. We also had two exhilarating 48-hour hackathons for practicing real-world skills around Git/GitHub workflows, working on a team, and planning/tracking project tasks. And in the final 3 weeks of the program, we were split into teams to build full stack applications--with one instructor assigned to each one as project manager. The job hunt is also emphasized throughout the program with lectures on networking, proper use of LinkedIn, and resume prep, as well as practice whiteboards and mock interviews. Every step of the way, you are surrounded by classmates to struggle (and celebrate!) with and can laugh together about the growing pains we all experience as beginners. All that being said, it's really true that you get what you put in. I can see why people say that a strong foundation is critical, because it is on that foundation that we will continue to hone our skills and pick up new technologies more quickly. Review core concepts regularly, don't neglect the practice problems, and ask questions often! Programming really takes persistence and a willingness to be frustrated over and over again, but those happy moments when you finally understand a concept or successfully debug your code are so worth it! If you are still on the fence, I'd recommend visiting the campus for an info session and voicing any concerns with the staff and current students/alumni. I guarantee that at the very least, you'll come away with more clarity, and maybe like me, you'll discover that LFZ is exactly where you want to begin your programming journey. read more

I went for an orientation and felt the environment here not supportive. People seemed on edge and the guys running the place seemed like they had a kind of hazing mentality. They were overally sensitive and rude. Eye rolling, not wanting to take simple requests, and dictating how you behave. For example when they feel you are not the right kind of women they mimic you and talk to themselves. I felt very discriminated against although they have many women there. Yes, they make money off of both genders. Anyway, people are sensitive here and you have to adapt to the culture. Someone smokes pot outside so try not to avoid him, or he will get offended. Smile and look excited to see people and have a chipper high pitched voice. When I complained to the person in charge he said they try to "de-sell" people they don't want or feel that are not ready. I was there for an informational session. I would not want to jump through hoops with these arrogant fragile men who feel they have control because they are your teacher or they feel they are elite coders. It was shameful and felt like high school but with awkward guys who try to force you to be as confident as they are. Also, there is a low-class nerd culture here. Some students are crazy sensitive over nothing. I walked in front of this one student and she got mad for cutting her at glacier slow speeds. Also, after the session, the guy told to me to rudely leave as if I did not understand English. As if he did not say they were having a question and answer session. I was just my polite self but what the heck. How rude they think they can teach people how to get a job when they act like that trying to get your money. Also as I was leaving I heard one guy in charge say that I could not get a job with that attitude and that he would tell everyone not to hire me. read more

Learning Fuze is a fantastic place to begin your web development career. While there are many boot camps that will take people with training and help to improve their skills to a higher level, Learning Fuze is the only one I've seen that will take people with ZERO background in web development and give them the skills necessary to succeed in that specific job market. They teach a LAMP stack with a strong emphasis in javascript. They do an extremely thorough job in developing the logic skills necessary to make the transition from javascript to PHP. The entire class is a project-based curriculum that puts the skills you learn to work and help develop a deeper understanding of the material that you learn. I would be remiss if I did not mention the dedication of the staff. I was in cohort 4 and I showed up everyday at 8:30, about an hour and a half before class started. Bill was there every morning to open the doors early to let us early birds work. Dan, the lead instructor, would come near 9 and work with anybody that needed it. Class ended at 6, and I would usually stay until about 8 to work more. Dan would stay practically every night to help out and his dedication truly helped me out. The course was very difficult, but extremely rewarding and after 3 months I feel well prepared and capable in my new chosen field of work thanks to Learning Fuze. read more

I attended LearningFuze from January - March 2016 and 3 months after graduating I was able to obtain a position as a Jr. Web Developer. LearningFuze has the right environment and people in place to help you transition into the world of web development. The lead instructor, Dan, really knows his stuff and is one of the smartest individuals that I have been around. He also really cares about his students and is willing to take extra time to clear up anything you have questions about. Aside from Dan, there are also a few other instructors who were cool and always willing to help. After the program I also got a chance to work with Bill and Savrut who provide guidance and set up a plan for the job search. Savrut was in constant communication with me after the program and played a key role in obtaining my first role. That being said, there is a lot to learn in web development. I recommend getting as strong a base of core knowledge before the course so that you get the most out of it. I worked extremely hard before, during and after the course and am happy with the path chose with LearningFuze. read more

I've had the privilege to go through LearningFuze's curriculum. This review speaks to the prospective students of web dev bootcamps in this area. This review assumes, on the part of such students, the obvious level of maturity and fortitude necessary for this kind of gruelling self torture and by extension, the availability of and willingness to sacrifice time, money, social life, marriage, your first born son, etc... If you've been dabbling with the idea, have taken some steps on your own to learn web programming and have realized that you like this stuff but it will take you forever to learn it on your own, go to LearningFuze. If you learn better and faster in a classroom environment, exchanging ideas with people, working with people on projects, asking questions 100x on stuff that you just don't get, go to LFZ. If you need a structured curriculum with live lectures, documentations, practice problems, projects, a dedicated and knowledgeable group of instructors (who's there 7/8am - 9/10pm most days), go to LFZ. If you need a structured job search process with resume reviews, mock interviews, even job search assignments, a dedicated career counselor, go to LFZ. If you want access to the school, the material, the instructors, career advice after you've graduated and gotten a job, go to LFZ. If you need industry insiders to come and give presentations, Q&A, recommendations, pep talks, almost on a biweekly basis complete with beer and pizza, go to LFZ. If you need to be able to work on your programming 8am - 10pm 7 days a week, go to LFZ. If you need to be able to work on your programming 8am - 10pm and then sleep on their couch till 8am the next day, go to LFZ. If you need a coding school that often pulls you aside to check on your progress and get your feed back, then incorporates it into their stuff, go to LFZ. If you want to just go to tech meet ups, free sessions on javascript coding, etc...go to LFZ. If you're worried about the bottom line, it's the cheapest in the area. And, given the enormity of value you get for your money, it's probably unbeatable in soCal. Comma splices are awesome. read more

This is my update 2 years after the graduation from LF as a very first cohort. It's been two years and I would consider myself as a successful LF graduated web developer with a decent job and decent coding skill set. You don't just stop at what you learnt from LF. LF is a site where you learn "how to learn," which means you only exponentially expand your coding skill afterwards. I have introduced three good friends of mine to LF. One of them has been working as a web developer for one year now after the graduation. Another two recently got graduated and getting interviewed by potential employers. Here is my side of story: JOBS: 2 years ago, there was a booming of web development Bootcamp in norCal, not so much in soCal. LF was the frontier of webdev BootCamp in soCal. So back then, during many interviews, they all raised the same flags: "we don't know if we can really trust this person graduated from the BootCamp." Within two years, LF did a great job setting a stone and earning a trust with companies around the OC area. Anyways, I got a contract PHP (backend) developer job at small startup company as a first job and did about 6 months with 3 months contract extended, which was a good start for me because I always wanted to see if I fit into a backend development. After that, I got a contract-to-hire job at mid-sized company. I supposedly had to do 3 months of contract as a probationary period and evaluated to be hired as a FT, but thankfully LF prepared me so well so that I was able to get FT full-stack web developer position just after 2 months. Since then I've been working with many big clients and got in charge of many projects. Now I advanced myself up to a next phase and recently got a new job without a "Junior level" title. STATS and NUMBERS: I was able to expand my skill set from 5 languages to 15 languages (at beginner to expert levels) now. I had total 22 interviews over 2 years (this tells you that they are looking for developers out there ALOT! Sometimes you will have to pick and choose). I have completed 5 web game apps, 3 CMS systems, 4 websites, 8 web apps and some other small projects. My current salary has been increased about 200% since the first developer job. ADVICE: So for those of who is worrying about if LF is really going to prepare you to be able to get you hired / work / grow, I would confidently shout out "YES." I was worried if I wouldn't get hired. I was worried even more when I got hired and if I can actually work and contribute. But I was able to use what I learnt from LF. STAFFS: I STILL visit them pretty often. You don't just be out there by yourself alone after the graduation. By all means, they are supportive and welcoming all the time. I had a different instructor taught me but I met most of the staffs there right now and heard great feedbacks from my friends about them. They are there to help you succeed. I thought this update was needed since I got so many emails through my first review but that didn't really cover where I ended up at. If I did not cover any stuff that you had a question about, please msg / email me anytime :) read more

LearningFuze is one of the best opportunities I've ever had. LearningFuze not only teaches you how to code, they prepare you to work in actual dev environments, thorough job search prep, and are dedicated to teaching you all the skills a good dev should have. The course is tough but the curriculum is structured in a thoughtful way that really reinforces what you're learning. For as rigorous as the course is, the staff was nothing but helpful and dedicated, they will go above and beyond to make sure you get the assistance you need. The lead instructor, Dan, is one of the best there is. There is no one I would have rather had teaching me programming and he has been one of the best mentors I've ever had. If you're serious about a career in development I would absolutely encourage you to checkout Learning Fuze. Its a great learning environment, and an excellent cultural environment. read more

There are a handful of traits that really stood out to me about LearningFuze that make it such a valuable experience. Learning Fuze will be time-intensive, so make sure to set your expectations appropriately. I was expected to be at LF five days a week from 9am - 5pm, and was encouraged to stay even longer (quite often I found myself staying an additional two hours everyday). This is a good thing. That said, I was very pleased of how much support LF offers for students as they go through the program. The staff is dedicated to checking in on students, both on a technical and emotional level. Despite the intensiveness, burnout is very uncommon as the workload is demanding but not unreasonable. LearningFuze is an incredible organization that I'm thrilled to have been a part of. Overall, LearningFuze was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in becoming a web developer or if you're looking to improving your skills as a web developer. read more

LearningFuze was a great experience! The instructors here are of first-class quality. Thi (day time full immersion instructor) is an absolute wizard with code and has over 10 years of experience. You'll be amazed at what this guy can do with a computer and a keyboard. Daniel (day time full immersion instructor) has been coding before the days of Google, is extremely knowledgeable on many different languages and platforms, and he'll take the time to sit beside you to pair program your way out of complex problems. Binh (part-time night instructor) has over 7 years of full-stack development experience and is very passionate about teaching. She cares deeply about whether you learn or not. For example, during one evening session my class mates all either got sick or had emergencies, so I was the only one that could make it. Instead of cancelling class, she stayed and tutored me one-on-one through some of complexities of Object-Oriented programming. This is the level of commitment you get from your instructors at LF. They could only do so much though, the rest is up to how hard you work, how many hours you put in, and whether you can summon up the emotional intelligence and maturity to deal with frustrations that naturally come with learning how to code . I can personally attest though, that the harder you work the easier it gets! The commitment doesn't stop with the instructors though, Bill and Fabian (Director of Operations, Director of Technology, respectively) work their butts off to work with employers and connect them with the students. There are speaking events once a week, sometimes more. During those events, they often provide food, snacks, and beer! In fact, Fabian and I have sat down over a couple of beers to discuss the current landscape of higher education and where he believes technology and full-immersion bootcamps like LearningFuze will serve a role. Currently, almost all of the students in my cohort (2nd cohort) have jobs or job offers they're weighing. I myself got hired on to a web development agency only a few weeks after graduation. Not saying that it's a walk in the park though, we're competing with college grads with 4 year CS degrees, but web development is a hot field right now, work hard, put up some quality projects on GitHub, network, and you'll be on your way to a better career and life. read more

Learning Fuze is a worthwhile time investment in order to explore a new career in technology. Learning to program can be an exhaustive tedious experience if you try to learn everything by yourself. It's easy to get lost, feel frustrated, and lose sight of things because programming is a unique skill that needs time to develop. What Learning Fuze does is bring together a number of like-minded individuals who are in similar situations and make what can be a hard painful process into what is still painful but a social and unique experience. Through the people you meet and the helpful instructors of very knowledgeable and dedicated instructors, the process of entering the tech industry becomes a lot more enjoyable, facilitated, and most importantly, it reminds you that you are not alone in your struggles. There are plenty of reviews stating the highly quality of the instructors and the institution so I will not add more except to say that I agree with them. read more

I just recently completed the full immersion bootcamp at LearningFuze as part of their 4th cohort. I have nothing but great things to say about this bootcamp. I graduated with a degree in biology and had no experience in coding before making the career change into web development. The instructors are extremely knowledgable and they make sure that all the students understand the material. They are always available for help and willing to come into class before hours and stay after hours. I am so amazed at how much i've learned in the three months that i've been here. Their curriculum is based off of what most employers are seeking in this industry. The amount of material that is covered can be overwhelming but they do a good job of making sure we take enough breaks to relax and have fun. They have a lounge where you can just kick back on a sofa and relax whenever you need to. They have an xbox, mini basketball hoop, badminton, footballs to throw around, and other things to help balance out the workload. They not only help with our coding skills but also our soft skills. We are given mock interviews which include whiteboard interviews. We also have multiple one on one meetings with the instructors so that you can let them know what you're happy or unhappy about the program so far. We have guest speakers almost every week which is super helpful getting to hear from current CEO's and employers about what it's like to work in this industry. Dinner is always served during guest speaker nights which is a plus! I am currently getting my final project wrapped up but I have no doubt that I will be able to find a job. It's been a roller coaster ride but I couldn't be more happy with everything i've learned and accomplished thus far since attending LearningFuze. read more

I attended what is known as Cohort 8 at the school. I went into the class with no knowledge of coding at all. The class does a great job of teaching you the basic coding languages of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Upon reaching the end of the course you are encouraged to choose either front end development or back end. They will teach you Angular for front and PHP for back. You can choose to learn both but it's a daunting task that they advise against. The instructors did a good job and the classroom environment was great. You develop a strong sense of family with those in your cohort. Upon graduating they help you with job placement as well. I struggled from the beginning and it was obvious I needed extra help keeping pace with my fellow students. Instead of receiving the extra attention needed to help me, I began to feel like the instructors were backing off and had written me off as a lost cause. As a result, I never officially graduated from the school. Because I didn't graduate, I was told I'd receive no support in finding employment. Once your cohort is over, a strong vibe is given off by the school they don't want you around anymore because they'd prefer to focus on current students instead of past ones. So now I'm out my tuition fee, no job prospects, and no support to get any better at coding. For anyone else in my cohort, I could see why a 5 star rating would be well deserved, but for these reasons the best I can do is 4 stars. read more
