It's Reggio Emilia-inspired, mostly outdoors, and so intentional in how it nurtures curiosity, confidence, and kindness. The teachers were warm, steady, and genuinely invested in each child as an individual. We watched our son grow in independence, communication, and emotional maturity, and he developed a real love of learning through play, nature, and meaningful projects. Spring Hollow also felt like a true community for our family; supportive, welcoming, and aligned with the values we wanted reinforced at home. We are incredibly grateful for our years there and recommend it without hesitation.

The school operates under the Reggio-Emilia philosophy (meaning the children can self-direct their own learning) . After saying goodbye at the goodbye window, the day starts with the children together talking about what is going on in the day. The children have times where they can choose to be outside or inside and a teacher is in each spot helping them out. In either spot they can play, paint, work with materials or dress up. It is quite exciting to the see the daily email from the teachers with pictures of what the kids during the day. The thing that surprised me the most is the amount of cooperation and group play that emerges when you leave the kids on their own. In every email, there are pictures of a group of kids exploring or playing house and the kids have assigned themselves different rules. We went to the open house at Spring Hollow and were able to sit in on a day with our son. If you are unsure, plan to stop in and you won't be disappointed. We explored a number of preschools for our son, but I think we decided on the right place when we sent him to Spring Hollow.

My son has NEVER not wanted to go to school. Even though he only goes a couple of days a week, he is always asking me when he can go next. He loves his teachers and every single person on the staff. It feels like every staff member in the building knows my little boy and greets him cheerfully every day. His primary teachers know him really well and make great observations about his behavior and personality. I felt great about going back to work because I knew he would receive great care. I also appreciated that they offer a variety of flexible plans, so it was easy for me to transition from half day care to full day care when I went back to work. Addressing the concern about employees and English skills, there are several employees who were born in other countries and for whom English is clearly a second language. I was actually really pleased to see that my son would be exposed to such a diverse group of people so early in life. I've never had trouble communicating about his needs and his pediatrician was blown away by his verbal skills at his last well visit, so I know his language development is just fine. I have zero direct knowledge of the staff pay, so I can't address concerns about staff being underpaid. I certainly hope that isn't the case because they are wonderful.
