This truly is an unique place, phonics, counting, reading comprehension, computer, karate, weekly spelling test ( not the baby words either). Learning begins at 1 years old. The children enunciate their words and are challenged to be critical thinkers. The teachers care, know the children and parents by name, The rates are reasonable in relation to the results you will see in your babies. I have had multiple issues with MKS Learning Center. From dealing with the disrespectful and…read morebelittling director, Mrs. Freeman to having issues with the quality of staff for over a year. The staff are not all licensed or even certified, and it definitely shows with the quality of the business and how it runs. Majority of the "teachers" yell and speak in broken English to the children, they lack patience, and they definitely don't have a current curriculum to teach the older children. Their food is subpar and reheat days old meals. My child's teacher didn't have the patience to assist with potty training so put a pull up on my child instead of taking them to bathroom when asked. I complained multiple times of my child not being cleaned properly, as feces residue was left in the pull-up and underwear. There have been several incidents where the "teachers" didn't know what happened with my child during the day and left questions unanswered and speculations forming. There isn't any order and quite frankly, I don't think they care because they know the people in the area "need" a daycare. The director and her daughter, Ms. Rhonda, are extremely unprofessional and don't even give the parents decent courtesy by speaking to them. Ms. Freeman is a dictator and reigns over her employees like Hitler. They don't even hold their heads up and speak up when she's around. Once she walks away, they confess how horrible it is to work for her and her condescending daughter. She belittles not only the parents, but also her staff. I feel bad for them because many don't have the knowledge and skills to leave. It's either her way or the highway, even when witnesses and evidence prove otherwise. MKS hires staff who they know they can bully, because they need a job. They have no voice and no one's opinion is respected or heard. Not even the parents'. The staff look and sound like they came off the street because they can barely hold a decent conversation, let alone care for small children. Her infant teacher even gave a baby animal crackers and said, "Well i didn't know she couldn't eat that. How was i supposed to know?". They don't have proper training to work with infants and children and that stems from the Director. She is manipulative and degrading and I would recommend everyone i come in contact with to STAY AWAY from MKS Learning Center. Pay a little more and find a center that will love on your kids, teach your kids, and treat PAYING consumers with respect. Not everyone gets CAPS or subsidized childcare and not everyone is loud and ghetto. Find a place that cares and LISTENS to the parents, as well as the staff. MKS Learning Center is not for you, nor your child.

The staff exemplified…read moreincompetence...our child was in the Early Pre-School class with Meesha, who lacked classroom management training, but mastered lying. When addressing issues we witnessed on the cameras she would lie and deny and run to Julia (Asst. Director) who is also her roommate and they would deny and cover for each other. In the meantime, we constantly asked when a teaching module would be put in place and were constantly told by the director, Dakesha that the first month was for observation...he was there from August until July of this year and we received not one formal evaluation of any sort. Once during a meeting with them we were given an print out of another child's evaluation. Often told that so many things were against the law...giving another child's information should definitely be against the law. There are far too many incidents to name here, but one in particular where a student that threw chairs and furniture every day hit our child in the face with a basket with metal rods and Meesha failed to write an incident report...another day she claimed a shelf fell on him...no incident report written (Where and why would shelves fall in a daycare setting?) One day while taking lunch to our child, he was met outside because they were having a fire drill and he was with Dakesha only to be told that there was an "incident" but he was okay. No incident report written. There was an intervention meeting held and even after an intervention it was determined that she needed more training... the final straw was two weeks ago. A new man was placed in a classroom being trained under Meesha who still needs to be trained and when we had questions about his nervous energy and observing him we were told that we made him nervous vs. the acknowledgement of requesting that he not be left with our child without another teacher present...he was seen on camera grabbing him...when the whole year no one has grabbed him, as is their policy and should not happen. We were also told that they cannot "make" students do anything...so grabbing him should never have happened. These folks tried to make us feel as if what was seen on camera didn't happen. Every time we observed and brought anything to their attention....it didn't matter. The game is lie and deny. A full year of paying $285 weekly for him to learn how to jump on furniture, become aggressive, and taught NOTHING. If we were not working with him at home he would know nothing. We basically paid for him to have untrained babysitters. So, if you just want babysitters La Petite of Tyrone is the place to go. THE CAMERAS DO NOT MATTER. THEY WILL LIE AND DENY ANYTHING YOU QUESTION. If you want a structured, safe environment with competent staff...run far away! Oh we stopped by to get his records, and were told, there is NOTHING in his files...exactly! He was never taught nor evaluated all year long. There is soooooooo much more I can write, but I will digress.

My oldest has been there since he was 9months (now 3.5) He has been diagnosed severe food allergies and they are very supportive in helping us keep him safe. My youngest has been there since she was 4 months (now 13 months). They do have video cameras in each classroom which can be accessed via app or web page. Every teacher has been wonderful and the admin are on top of their game.

It is my daughter's 4th day of pre-K and I am already having major issues with the director. My…read morehusband and daughter were involved in an accident where a battery blew up and we were rushed to the hospital. My daughter's pre-K class gets out at 2:15. Ok cool, I call to let them know I'm running late. This is BEFORE the accident. After the accident and I knew what was going on with my husband and daughter, the other director calls and I explain the situation. I'm thinking everything is cool still. IT'S NOT!!! The owner/director has me come in today to talk to her. She proceeds to explain to me that I was charged a 1.00 a minute since I didnt pick her up. I explain the situation to her and she keeps on saying well put her in aftercare. If I had the money I would. So then she catches an attitude when I tell her that my husband and child were basically blown up and that was just a lot more emergent than coming to get my other child when she has 2 godmothers and a grandmother that I can call to get her. This director claims to be Christian but is the furthest thing from it. She really did not care my husband and 1 year old had been involved in an accident. My husband suffered 3rd degree burns and this supposed "Christian" only cares about her money. They are just as bad as Sunbrook @Luella
