This is a great place to find toys and crafts for children of all ages. I like to come here to buy gifts for the children of my friends because a lot of the selection helps with learning. The Learning Express also, as the name foreshadows, have a plethora of educational toys which is always nice to see. There are often sales in the store. Absolutely disgusted with the audacity of this store. I have been going here many times and this past visit was anything but good. Everything was nearly empty and to the left of the store there is shelves full of frogs kept in dangerous environments. Those frogs are not having regulated water,enough plants for oxygen,lamps for heating,and are supposed to be kept in 5 gallon tanks. They are also being fed pellets for fMany frogs were struggling to stay up to the top of the water to gain oxygen from a tiny hole on the top. One was not moving (I presume dead) and there was even some tanks with 2 frogs at a time. It's obvious they're just thinking of money and not the actual well being of the frogs they're selling. Place was very overpriced. Found some items cheaper on targets website before purchasing here. So I only bought something I didn't think I could find anywhere else. One of the lady cashiers commented on my height (I'm 4'9) saying "oh I didn't see you, you're so short" right before ringing me up. That did it for me bc as you can imagine I always have people saying things like that. After that I just wanted to get out of there without purchasing anything at all but I was buying something for my nieces birthday. Another thing is they have 2 frogs in tiny aquariums. The owner Tim Hicks touched my service dog from the back without asking and my service dog turned around to snap out of fear (he is still in training it says so on his vest) he then told us we needed to leave and weren't allowed back. A golden retriever OFF LEASH NO COLLAR was roaming the store and came up to my dog and started barking in his face. He is lucky I didn't kick that dog in the face for what he did, having a dog like that is not right. The whole situation was awful. I popped in here to try and find a birthday present for my young nephew who is pretty much only interested in video games. Learning Express is a toy store that tries to educate and encourage creativity so I thought, hey maybe I can find something to take him away from being glued to the TV. There are tons of puzzles and board games and it definitely took awhile, but I ended up finding him a Magic Trick Set which I know he'll be down with. The prices are a bit higher than say, Walmart, but these are toys that you can pretty much guarantee a kid won't already have. Perfect place to find gifts. read more

We come here all the time and most employees here are very friendly and helpful except for one. I didn't get her name but she's an older employee with glasses and gray hair. She's very rude and cops an attitude with people who are shopping or have any questions. You would think for working in a toy store the lady would lighten up a bit. But after seeing her the past 5 times I've visited, she always has the same irritable attitude. I would avoid her as much as possible when shopping here. Instead of walking up and down aisle after aisle and having no clue what is good, Learning Express seems to only carry toys that foster curiosity. They have the brand Melissa and Doug, which uses non-toxic paint and recreates timeless classics that all kids like. The store is well organized and the staff will point you in the right direction for the age group you are looking for. In the past I have had a good experience shopping here, but on my most recent visit I left extremely bothered. We tried to return an item because it stopped working (we have bought multiple items from here that have either broke within the same day or stopped working) and according to the return policy you can return within 30 days (we had bought it a week ago) or I believe it is 60 days which allows you to have in store credit. I did not return the previous items, except for this time because I wanted to exchange a non working timer bookmark for a working one. When we walked into the store and spoke with the person in charge she reacted with an aggressive attitude, and immediately assumed that we bought the book mark off the internet. I repeatedly asked her to check their system as I knew my purchase was in the system. I was so embarrassed because she continued to raise her voice at me in front of other customers. I asked what her name was, but she refused to give me her name and told me she was the assistant manager (I found out the next day that she was a key holder because I spoke with a manager in charge to let them know of my experience). It was not until she spent ten minutes looking in the system that she found my purchase and her demeanor immediately changed. After this encounter I have decided to no longer visit this store. I am taking my business elsewhere and plan to find a store, in which I will not be disrespected because never once did I disrespect the person who helped me even with her attitude. I'm all for educational toys and spreading a child's imagination into space but for the bargain price of $$$ minimum you've got to be kidding me. What ever happened to a board game costing under $5?! I know I know, times have changed and I need to get hip with it but that doesn't mean I'm going to like it. Now this place is great if you want to spend the cash, however there are similar if not the same toys also found at Target or Walmart for way cheaper. While it may be a bit pricey, it is definitely worth a visit. The toys here are educational, unique, and varied. There are little play tables set up for the kids to play with train tracks, etc. We love to kill an hour or two here on a rainy day, and leave with a small treat. read more

I have been to this location a few times and was over in this area after work and thought I would pick up some little items for my grandkids. First its a tiny store barely any room to walk at all... The manager Cindy is so rude, she talked down to me the entire time I was there, not to mention that she never did her job just kept calling, the good store, to get them to do stuff. Verna is rude and I could hear her bad mouthing the other store. (Really its the owners other store) I still like the Stone Oak store better, much better staff. read more
