This is a decent store if you live in the area and are looking for unique toys and fidgets. It's a bit far for us to come to regularly. The staff working when we stopped in were talking to each other and barely acknowledged us and we were the only people in the store. The part that was frustrating was that I had called several times to see if they were open since it was a holiday and they did not answer the phone. We decided to chance it anyway since we were already at Easton, and when we got there to see them just ignoring phone calls was annoying. Prices are higher than other stores, but they do have a great selection so if we lived in the area we would come back, but since it's so far away we won't. read more

Toy Stores are always sort of fun -- that's their thing. New Albany's Learning Express is no different. I was disappointed upon visiting, though, that the shop has nothing that makes it stand out. The closest comparison around town would be Larson's in Upper Arlington. Larson's trumps Learning Express in all categories, though. Learning Express just seems like a room full of random toys. There is no real order to it all. Even more unfortunate is the fact that it is extremely cluttered. Kids couldn't really have fun here like they do at other toys stores. Learning-oriented toys and games are the focus here, predictably. They all roughly adhere to this rule, though there seems to be more traditional toys like dolls and such here than at other learning toy stores. Honestly, a place like this mostly serves to remind me that I miss the Discovery Channel Store. read more

I would caution doing business at this location. The store manager was exceptionally rude during a transaction today regarding a simple purchase made on my behalf. Driving across town to purchase a gift at this location, this individual was met with a confrontational and challenging disposition by the store manager. If an adult returns with the gift, glad to be removed from the experience, and with tears in eyes while explaining the details of the very negative encounter, it motivates me to not only publicly express great concern but also advocate for any future shoppers. I'm no toy store expert, but this one seems decent in the variety they offer for such a small space. Some Hello Kitty here and Thomas the Train there... I braved the toy store to order personalized items. They will paint a theme and name on your choice of product. Containers, piggy banks, lap desks and signs--there are a ton of choices. But a successful experience would include getting said product in a timely fashion. This experience was a disaster. I was told my order would be ready the next day and would receive a call when they were ready. Awesome! I didn't need them for awhile, but I was excited for the speedy service. Crickets...for weeks. I call to check, yes the order is ready and waiting. Another call...just kidding it's not done. Yet another call, my order won't be ready until the next shipment. The entire exchange was rude and inconsiderate and I just canceled. I don't plan to return. read more

We ended up checking out this store because of a segment on a TV news show. I really enjoyed the fact that I had 2 boy twin toddlers (age 4) and my other grandson (11 months) and we browsed. The people in the store were NOT rude to us. They enjoyed the fact that my grandchildren were very well behaved and asked to see certain toys and stayed with me. We selected a few toys and continued to browse the store at a leisurely pace. All the while, the baby was banging on a little toy piano thingy (it was kind of pricey). They never said a word to us, never rushed us and let us enjoy this experience. I ended up buying that little toy piano because my grandson loved it so much and got to play with it the entire time we were browsing. I also purchased large floor puzzles and will more than likely return to purchase other toys and games for Christmas. The prices were kind of steep, so that is the only reason not to get 5 stars; however, the selection is really good if you aren't into a bunch of electronic gadgets and want some real toys. read more

Learning Express is one of my favorite toy stores, I have been going there ever since I was little. Every time I come to Learning Express, there are always new toys! They have all kinds of toys, from toy airplanes to Legos. I remember one time, a child had every single plane,boat,and car in the store and put it in a huge line, or sometimes there is a mini car that you can ride around the store. A child can spend hours in the store, also there a lot of samples of the product displayed out so you can get a feel of what the product is. When it's your birthday party Learning Express lets you pick out toys you want for your birthday. So the people attending your party, can ask for the toys you pick out and pick a toy you want, from the box. When your checking out a present, Learning Express can gift wrap it for you. It's very convenient and you don't have to worry if your friend won't like the gift. Although it's a small store, it's one of the best toy stores in New Albany, and I hope your experience will be as great as mine! read more

Great toy store to get the perfect toy! I was on my way to a birthday party and stopped by to pick up a toy as quickly as possible. I walked in and was greeted immediately and asked if I needed help finding anything. I said I was looking for a great outdoor gift for and 8 year old boy and was given a few helpful suggestions by the staff and pointed in the right direction. I decided on a unique passing game called the "Ogodisk." I had the item wrapped for free and was out the store on my way to the party in 10min. I would highly recommend this store and the Ogodisk as well! My nephew and I had great fun playing with it. Can't wait to come back! read more
