From the first time you meet with Danielle, it will be clear to you that you are not in for the usual math learning experience. She is cool, laid back and has a great sense of humor, which means everything to someone like me with major math anxiety. Furthermore, you will NEVER feel stupid working with Danielle; She is the poster child of patience, laughing it off, trying to explain it another way and helping you work through whatever mental roadblock you're hitting. If you had told me a few months ago that I would actually look FORWARD to learning math, I just couldn't have believed it, because I never even thought learning math was something I was capable of. But now? Working through problems all by myself while Danielle watches on and silently nods in approval. Getting 100% on EVERY homework assignment. No joke. Danielle has literally worked miracles for me. Oh, and did I mention how ridiculously affordable her services are? When I began searching for tutors, I was getting quotes in the $55-$65/hour range, and I actually contemplated it because, well, more money means they must be REALLY awesome, right? Don't be a sucker- Danielle is the best bang for your buck. I could go on forever singing her praises, because frankly, she deserves it and I just don't know where I would be without her. I have a full time career and children; I pay cash for my tuition and can only take one class per semester due to my work and family obligations. This school is perfect for anyone in a situation similar to mine. The online classes were easy to navigate although I will warn you that they require more hours of work compared to in-person classes. In-person classes are taught by instructors who are engaged and passionate about the curriculum. I have not run into "no-call/no-show" situations from teachers. My advice - know what your plan is before you get started. Talk to advisors at your preferred transfer university to find out what they expect you to bring to their school from MCTC. Then get started.

I picked Alamo Driving School based on its Yelp reviews. I didn't need too much tutoring, just a…read morebrief explanation of rules in MN and what to pay attention to during the road test. I give 1 star to their office staff and responsiveness and 5 star to my instructor, Connie. I bought my first class online and called them to schedule. They told me they'd call me back and no one did. I called the next day and got the same response, again no one called me. I went to their office 2 days later and they told me they were on holiday as a reason why nobody returned my calls. If I had been told that they'd be out of office and I had to wait a couple of days, that'd be fine. But they kept telling me they'd return my calls and never did. Similar thing happened with scheduling the road test as well. I called, either no one answered or I was told I will be called back. I had to send a nasty message to finally receive a call and get my test scheduled. On the other hand, my instructor Connie was awesome. She was encouraging and always explaining what to pay attention to during driving. On the exam site, she went over a couple of things we should be careful about. I got my license after the exam. In terms of learning how to drive, it's a good place, if you want to deal with the office staff.

Mohammed is awesome at figuring out how confident a driver is. He modifies his classes depending on your learning curve and is a perfectionist. He made me practice my parking (90 degree and parallel) over and over and over yet again until I felt confident maneuvering the car without guidance. The moment he feels that you are gaining confidence, he throws curve balls at you so that he can test how nervous you get on the road, and how you handle different situations. I took the 10 hour package w /road test and felt I gained a lot from each driving session with him. He is a good teacher and knows how to get through to his students.
