History
Established in 2005.
I came to the United States in 2004, and began teaching Spanish in 2005 at a small language academy. In 2008, I joined Instituto Cervantes of Chicago where I taught all levels of Spanish, as well as special courses such as: Spanish-English Comparative Grammar, Magical Realism and Daily Life in Latin America, The Nobel Prizes of Literature in Spanish, Literature in Movies, Painting and Society in Latin America during the Twentieth Century, and Latin American Current Politics. From 2010 through 2013, I taught Spanish levels 1-4 at Loyola University of Chicago.
I love everything about what I do, but most of all I love building bridges between people and communities--new languages do this.

Meet the Business Owner: Hector S.
I am originally from Columbia, and for over 15 years I worked as a reporter covering stories related to criminal and political violence. I also taught journalism and writing at several colleges, and worked as director of communications and public relations for several mayors' offices and NGOs. Those were hard times: there were no easy facts.
I came to the United States in 2004, and have now been a language teacher for over 15 years. Using language correctly has been very important to me, in both my daily life and in my work.
In my classes, I teach topically: traveling, literature, fine arts, music and architecture, as well as history, politics and social justice are all areas of focus. My classroom environment is friendly, serious, and respectful of differences.
