I hang my head in shame...Like other reviewers, we visited after dining in the popular Little Malop St precinct, and in hindsight would have skipped the dinner and focussed on dessert. I loved the ecclectic, retro feel of the place and the mix of chairs, tables and lounges. I also loved the menu on the wall...but what I didn't love was that I couldn't try everything that was on offer! So for $22 my wife and I shared the tasting plate that included ×3 cakes, ice cream and x5 sides...now you know why we should have skipped dinner :) Best of all, if you are gluten free or vegan they have something for you. I can't recommend anything specific beyond going regularly so you can try it all.

My baked eggs were quite tasty, could have done with a herb or two to make them really pop. My partner in crime had scrambled eggs and bacon. I was really impressed as well by the quality of the coffee they were pumping out. Blend by 7 Seeds and was done beautifully. For those not having breakfast, they had a divine array of cakes and treats, which the second I looked at them, I felt type 1 diabetes coming on. They looked amazing. Now the vanilla slice in my view was quite pricey ($7.50 each) but they were also quite large. I took these home and enjoyed a slice as a late afternoon snack. Oh. My. Goodness. It was AH-MAZING. Crispy pastry, thick custard that wasn't overly sweet and the slightest scraping of jam on the bottom layer that completely changed the whole dessert. Definitely the best vanilla slice I've ever had but the price is a bit overboard. I would have given 5 five stars had the cost been more reasonable.
