In a way this place just had some much charm about it, befitting of a place located along a major tourist road. The staff were warm and friendly, and the tea, well, the tea was just perfect. I guess the decorations also had a lot to be with my love of this place, and it is certainly a place to grab a nice warm beverage.

How can I, a self described foodie, have lived in Geelong for 3-years and never heard of this place…read moreuntil I saw it on deliveroo? I hang my head in shame...Like other reviewers, we visited after dining in the popular Little Malop St precinct, and in hindsight would have skipped the dinner and focussed on dessert. I loved the ecclectic, retro feel of the place and the mix of chairs, tables and lounges. I also loved the menu on the wall...but what I didn't love was that I couldn't try everything that was on offer! So for $22 my wife and I shared the tasting plate that included ×3 cakes, ice cream and x5 sides...now you know why we should have skipped dinner :) Best of all, if you are gluten free or vegan they have something for you. I can't recommend anything specific beyond going regularly so you can try it all.

It's a lovely spot with a great menu and friendly service. I enjoyed sipping on a well-made mocha while waiting for my food. Many locals stopped in (a good sign) to get coffee and breakfast. I also perused the many sweet and savoury treats at the takeaway counter. There was a big selection of Aussie and Kiwi food to keep you happy. For breakfast, I dined on the Imola Eggs, which is their unique take on the Eggs Benedict. Savoury bacon sits atop english muffins with poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. The twist is the spicy Italian marinara that adds depth and even more flavour to a classic dish. It was a joyous celebration!

3.6 Unusual location…read moreattached to a swimming pool and across from commercial businesses in Capel Sound out the back of Dromana. No matter at all. It's a very spacious and quirky breakfast and lunch cafe with heaps of space between tables. There's a communal table too. The whole area has a comfortable spacious feel. Good chance this space was once a bowling alley, I reckon. I chose tomatoes on toast with bacon. Not a cheap dish when you add the bacon at $6 but it's a good dish nonetheless. First off, it's a lovely looking offering. It looks good on the plate. The cherry tomatoes on the vine were absolutely gorgeous. Plump, juicy and cooked perfectly. They were also really nicely seasoned and also had a light smattering of sesame seeds. The spinach on the toast was cooked perfectly, and was nicely warm and sitting up with plenty of moisture still evident. There was also a very good hummus with the dish as well. I was told later that this is made onsite. My only slight criticisms are that parts of the dish were slightly cool when it arrived and the egg was just over and had no running yolk. These are small criticisms though. I really liked the dish a lot. My partner had the chicken schnitzel focaccia with bacon which she liked without ever becoming rapturous. My long black to finish was quite good. A nice coffee. Service was good throughout. Nice music playing too adding to the happy atmosphere. Interesting place. I liked it and would happily return.

This will be the biggest call I have made in a very long time but here goes... best brunch I have…read moreever had. There! I said it! While on a weekend away in Red Hill we checked Yelp for a nearby brunch place and found Dee's. The place was busy but not annoyingly so when we arrived at around 10am on a Saturday. The coffees were... ok, but the food, OH MY, the food. I ordered the 'delicately smashed' rosemary potato and pumpkin, with garlic aioli, poached eggs and crispy pancetta. I am drooling just reminiscing about it. It was magical. A truly hearty dish that feels a bit like a roast dinner for breakfast but you will regret nothing! My partner ordered the smashed avo, which from all accounts was equally as delectable. They offer a variety of foods and wines to take home too - perfect if you live in the area or staying nearby and can't be effed cooking. Dee's Kitchen is probably the best brunch place down that side of Melbourne. Get involved!
