Leah's Waxworks in the city is the bees knees for laser hair removal. It's about a third of the price of one of those wanky medical day spas, with 100% less snobbery. The girls are all really lovely, and you're in and out in 10 minutes for an underarm/bikini laser treatment. Warning - it's drop-in so it can get pretty busy, particularly around lunch time, so make an appointment if you have a schedule to keep. They do great manicures too (ask for Lauren - she's excellent) and you can't go past $6 for an upper lip wax. Six bucks! That's less than the price of a piece of cake at one of the cafes in the fancy Westfield. I have been having laser there for about 6 months and I'm really happy with the progress. read more

Terrible nail job! Untrained staff. I got my shellac manicure done there for my weekend party. The first staff couldn't do her job properly she made me have a sore bleeding finger. And the colour was applied unevenly and the edge of the nail painted in a zigzag shape. when I tried to show and explain to her, she couldn't understand me.... So here came the second staff. She continued the painting and said ' i know it not perfect. But that's the best I can do....' so did I go to the nail shop just to get some imperfect nail painting? Totally speechless! Yup! I'm a fan, Couldn't say it better myself. They have amazing service and know how to get the job done right. I often pop in after to work to see if they would be able to squeeze me in and each and every time they do. The are really affordable and great at what they do. I have been to other places that have been triple the price and leave me extremely disappointed. I love the fact that they are conveniently located close to me work. They are a bit hidden and if it wasn't for yelp i would have never found this place. #1 in my books for cost and service especially in the CBD. read more

I came in with the intention to enquire about having my rear waxed as for men. Upon enquiry they said that they did not do that. Which is fair enough as not all women would be comfortable doing so. But the fact that they advertise this on their front window seems misleading. Instead I had my chest and shoulders waxed which are still paining heavily compared to other waxing clinics. Towards the end the lady offered to wax my rear. However once I arrived home I discovered she only did half the job. if something cannot be done right it shouldn't be advertised Next time (not that I would go back) I should only pay half the money for half the job read more

I went to Leah's waxworks and I am not pleased with how my eyebrows turned out. I asked for a wax and tint and I was disappointed when my eyebrows were tinted GREEN!! The tint was uneven on both eyebrows. Not to mention it was overpriced. The lady who did my eyebrows was very nice and engaged in conversation with me although my friend told me her lady was rude when speaking to her. read more

Agree with Geenie that it's like a blue brothel but if you can get past that, it's friendly, super quick service at a great price. You know those places that will only wax and whatever doesn't come out you're left to deal with? Not here- after waxing, they'll pluck out every stray, pesky hair they can find. I had very bad experience at leah's. Gals who work there do not know how to wax. They will pull wax strips like anything. Now I know that why such shops offering cheap waxing doesn't work in CITY. I would not recommend this to anyone.Staff is rude and not friendly. I asked one of the gal to do full arm waxing, she left both of my hand unwaxed.!!!....when inasked for that .... she surprisingly asks me ohh! do you also want that. Such a bizarre! read more

THIS IS THE WORST WAX IVE RECEIVED IN MY LIFE. I've been getting brazilian's for years now and I've been to leahs wax works quite a few times with little to no problem. The Place is really nicely set up and seemed fine from the times I went before. It was the end of the day and clearly the ladies there did NOT care to properly wax. I came home to see that there was SO much wax left behind down there and it was quite painful to take off. I didn't really even know how to. Literally the worst Manicure I have ever had. Who knew that a manicure could be painful. Will never be back.

Ok if you want a semi cheap wax job done and don't mind completing the job yourself at home waxing the areas that they've missed (strips of dark hair) especially on the back of the leg where they think you won't notice. They really lack attention to detail, just preferring to get the job done quick to get the next person in. Some of the girls know how to wax and some leave you bruised. Another downside is that they don't assume responsibility for damaging your clothes and leaving expensive work clothes covered in oil stains and wax. My advice is that if you desperately need to visit these people, to go in either disposable clothes or your home cleaning gear. Don't go in nice expensive clothes because you will wear the cost. read more
