Great place for all your beauty needs, although it can get pretty busy and you have to make an appointment.

I am someone who goes from brown to ombré, balayage to brown again cuz I'm bored. Always wanted to just go the straight blonde but told let's just do foils a few times. Which going blonde is a process I know and accept that. But the amazing Luke, is the first to actually sit and think about a way to tackle my bronde hair. The staff collaborated with each other to see what could work best to get me along my dream of being blonde. This I think was nice, they really do care about you and your hair at hair cartel. The thing I loved the most was that they didn't try and rush me along and find the quickest solution. No I was there all day and was happy to because Luke was happy to help me get closer to my dream. At no time did I feel like they were rushing my hair or getting over it. Because of this, and the time and effort that was put into me I recommend hair cartel to everyone. Honestly you will not be disappointed. Also all new customers get 20% off their first visit. Who can say no to that.

Classic Nails stole one hour of my life that I can never, ever get back. I walked in off the street…read moreone afternoon because I wanted to get Shallac on my fingers. I didn't have an appointment, so I wasn't surprised when I was asked to sit and wait 15 minutes. About 20 minutes later I was seated. I had asked the price of Shellac when I first walked in and was told $20. What a deal, I thought. After waiting, I was then told that if I wanted a whole manicure, I was going to have to pay $38. I opted for a shape, buff and polish instead- that was the $20 one. In a classic miscommunication, I was told that my cuticles would be attended to, but in reality, this was only included in the $38 version. In a flustered and mixed-up decision, I chose to keep on with my cheapskate treatment (which is ridiculous of me, who wants a nice polish done on overgrown and pealing cuticles??). That aside, my manicurist when to work Shellacing. I had gotten this done at a couple other places before and was pretty familiar with the procedure. After 30 minutes of applying coats and setting under the heat (as per normal), it became very clear that something was wrong. The polish hadn't set correctly and was playable and bubbly. She looked at me and said, "Something wrong, pick new color." What?? Not being happy with my decision to forgo the proper manicure and also being incredibly short of time (I had already been there an hour), I asked her to please just take it all off. I was going to leave. After some heated Vietnamese conversations with the other staff, she set out hastily removing the Shallac. When she was done, my nails looked dehydrated and basically, like total crap. She looked up at me, straight faced and said "Okay, wash your hands and then you can go." With that I took my annoyed self and my shitty looking nails and stormed out of that little shop, vowing never to return.

I then asked whether it would be possible to use the same extensions and have them dyed to my natural colour with some bright blonde bits going through. I also sent pictures for reference. I got told this was possible and I was hugely looking forward to having long hair again with my new more natural tones. Unfortunately there seemed to have been a miscommunication and instead of extensions that matched my colour with the blonde, I was shown extensions of one colour - ash (almost silvery green) extensions which had had toner put on them. I should have followed my instinct that they didn't look right. The hair dresser could obviously see I wasn't sure and did say we didn't have to go ahead, but as he had been so correct the previous time, I thought i should put my trust with him once again. Sadly, this time, it did not turn out the same. My hair, which had also been toned was gold, the extensions were silvery/green with no highlights through them. I paid the 180$ for the toner (I had already paid 180$ on my previous visit for the Cost of the extensions being reapplied). So, I had now paid 360$ for hair I wasn't happy with. I left for a few hours and decided to return and express my disappointment and to see if there was anything we could do to rectify the muddy-puddle hair I now had. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand the frustration from the hairdresser - he gave me an opt out and I still went ahead and got them put in. But at the end of the day, I wasn't happy and was asking for what could Be done, even apologising for the fact that I was complaining. Instead I got told that there was nothing I could do, he felt it was similar enough to the pictures, he has in fact already bumped off 80$ for the toner he had to put on my natural hair (to match these grim coloured extensions) and let me use the same extensions before to save me money. He then proceeded to tell me that if I use straighteners on my hair, this will brighten the toner, but there still wouldn't be any darker bits. I just felt really disappointed, not being listened to (I expressed also it felt more like an ombré than a ballige) and made to feel like I was there to get anything extra I could, when in fact I just wanted to see what could be done to make them more what I actually had asked for. So, although yes, he helped me save money by not having to buy whole new set of extensions, I have had to pay him 180$ for the horrendous toner in the first place, and now have an appointment booked for 115$ elsewhere to fix the mess my hair now is. Sadly, a customer has been lost in me.
