We had LeafFilter replace the gutter guards on our lake home. Their service included fixing some damage caused by a falling tree branch and cleaning the gutters. Although the existing gutter guards worked for over a decade, they finally let enough material into the gutters to clog the downspout drainage completely on one side of the house. The salesman, Pat, was very knowledgable about the product and a real pleasure to deal with. He got me scheduled in two days. The installer, James, showed up on time and worked a full day to complete the job on our rather steeply sloped, difficult terrain. Afterwards, he cleaned up all debris. We called Leaf Filter to put guards on the top of them so my husband wouldn't have to be up on the roof. Yes, we are aging! Jerry, with LF, came to the house, laid out what the was included and pricing. He encouraged us to ask any and all questions we might have as he presented the information. He did a great job! We were very happy with the presentation. They may not be the cheapest, or the most expensive, we believe it's just right! Here's why..... Kevin came out, and installed the covers, and even added a down roof pipe at a gable in set so the water would no longer run down up against the house siding. Kevin was professional and hard worker. We were talking about what the plan was and he encouraged me to ask questions and share any concerns with him at any point during installation. He got right to work! He took pictures of the install as he went along. It was great to see the pictures since I was not going up on the roof. Even when there was a hick up with the length of the pipe he was to install, he never blinked, just said no worries. He went to our nearby Orange Hardware Store, got product and came right back and finished the job. He explained it is imperative to do the complete job correctly the first time. Nobody wants to have to come back and work on a project that wasn't done correctly or completely, whether you are the workman or home owner. It was a breath of fresh air. Kevin is an All Star! Salespeople will tell you this is a maintenance free gutter system. They will show you videos of debris bubbling off when it rains. Literally not true. Unfortunately you still need to get the system clean regularly. Particularly if you live around trees. All of a sudden when talking to local manager, they deny the claim of the salesperson and say no no of course it requires maintenance. Of course, they don't offer a maintenance package. Strange. They don't actually evaluate your gutter system when they come out. They will install their product on any old gutter whether it is working or not. They call themselves a gutter company, but when trying to find a solution to my overflowing gutters post install they kept asking me if the different solutions would please me. Either it's a solution or it isn't. They are supposed to be the gutter experts. Did not give me confidence that they know what they are doing. They also subcontract all their installs to other gutter companies. I recently found out that my install was subcontracted to a company that they parted ways with shortly thereafter. Not confident that install was done correctly because of this fact. Forget about the warranty. Deny deny deny. Just like an insurance company. Get ready to eat whatever you pay for their product. While I will admit the people working there have been nice and polite, the product and solutions are not good. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Gutter not aligned well enough to keep water from between building and gutter allowing water, then ice to form on exterior wall which had never happened before. Called outfit in the spring and they said the "workmanship" warranty had expired, sent out a truck and the woman wanted to install some new product (for money) but said it would cost $99 for her to take the ladder off the truck to look at the problem and that if I fixed it myself it would void the "lifetime" warranty. I can hardly wait to see what happens to some of the rest next time temperatures go from snow to thaw. Their response was laughable. The salesman explained things simply, he was polite and knowledgeable. The installer showed up on time and told me what he was going to do and how long it would take. Then a couple weeks later I found the installer outside my house again redoing the gutter filters as he had installed the wrong color the first time and was correcting his mistake. Water runs over filter and over gutter to spill out all over. Service calls say small rocks from shingle roof to blame, need to be cleaned by climbing ladder. 3 days later water running over again. Mistakenly thought the whole idea was not to climb ladders! Called Mike Councilor, Spokane office, his response was "too bad, they are keeping the leaves off, so tough." So now I'm here again to show proof. Here is a pick of the estimate and business card. These guys are predators. DO NOT USE THEM! Leaf Filter gutter screening wants $10,100 to screen my gutters. I said "hell no" he drops it to $7,100 if I schedule today. I passed. Two days later I receive a text from the manager offering $4,103. Commercial grade screen material, screws, and instructions is $879 bucks for 300 linear feet. Once again....do it myself! These contractors are totally disrespectful and flat out liars. I just don't get it ‍ They wanted $10,000 dollars for 6 hours labor and less than $1000 in material. DO YOUR RESEARCH. They will tell you they use "surgical grade" aluminum vs. Home Depot quality screen. It's all a scam!!!! read more

DO NOT USE LEAF FILTER. Find another company that is based out of Spokane. I bought my gutters through this company last year. I felt pressured. The price was way to high for a 1000 square foot manufactured home. I didn't get the helmets installed because I could not afford them. Fast foward to today. I wanted to get the helmets installed. The price? $4000. The salesperson was the same one I dealt with a year ago, so I thought it would be a good thing. Nope! She pressured me. She did bring the price down, but not much. When I said I wanted a day, ONE DAY, to figure out my finances? She stood up, thanked me for wasting her time and walked out of my house. I have blocked her number. The Leaf Filter Company operating in Spokane is a branch of a very large corporation out of Ohio. They use high pressure salesman and will call you every day at least once sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, even after you hire them. They start out with extremely high pricing and then start to whittle away at that price as you object to the high cost. In my experience they started out at almost $5000 to install JUST the filter portion of the system on my existing gutters, and ended up at around $1800 for the job. A local company quoted $1700 for the filter and new gutters. they say that you have a life time warranty, however when you read the fine print that is not the case at all. When they install the filter there is supposed to be a slight slant to the filter so that leaves and debris will slide off as water filters through the filter. On my installation there is not a slant and when I had someone come out to look at the problem they insisted there was no problem. BEWARE!!! This company (& others providing similar services) prey on the elderly who are unaware of customary construction material & labor costs. My 85 year old mother called this company for a free estimate, & was talked into an $1800+ contract for a total of 28 linear feet of gutter work!!! (I am her daughter & POA, she signed the contract without my awareness, & the work was done the day after contract signed). She paid over $50 a linear foot, with approximately 1 hour of labor! Also was supposed to be given a $400 Black Friday Discount, which was not given. Contract was signed 11/26/21-actual Black Friday. I contacted the local operations manager, who did initiate the discount, which was received in 2 weeks. Too soon to know if the product really works as was installed after leaf drop. Contact was written in paragraph form; no breakdown of material and labor cost, or discounts if any applied. (If they were, not many people would sign I'm sure!). Many elderly do not use computers or read on line reviews. So please compare carefully for these type of services!!! read more
