Not to be Missed! We made our reservations for dinner…read moreseveral months back, and we are so glad that we did! Alfonso (tour guide and translator) met us right at our villa in Vietri and escorted us to the beautiful property. Were given a private tour of the grounds, cellar and wine making process, and the pride that they take in their passion for wine making shows in everything that they do. The labels are hand applied to each and every one of the 3000 per year bottles. After the tour, we then went to Patrizia's deck which overlooks the water and we were treating to this stunning view, including a breathtaking sunset, throughout the entire dinner. Three different wines were poured and the bottles were left on the table for us to help ourselves. I lost count of the courses, but the food truly exemplifies farm-to-table, slow food in the best way. Patrizia, the wine maker, prepared almost all of the food and you would be hard pressed to find better food in a Michelin starred establishment. She and Alfonso treated us like family and we cannot wait to return. Note: the winery is high atop the cliff, and you have to walk there. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes.

Pasta was perfect. The service was good. We got a wine pourer that didn't seem to be in a good mood that day. Very matter of fact and not talkative compared to the others we saw at different tables. But still fast and attentive. The place was beautiful with the best views.

Cantina del Vesuvio: A Relaxing Afternoon of Wine, Food and Views…read more Cantina del Vesuvio was a lovely way to spend an afternoon near Naples, especially as an alternative to longer excursions to Pompeii or the Amalfi Coast. The entire experience takes only a couple of hours, including transportation from the city center or cruise port. We were welcomed with sparkling rosé before touring the vineyards and learning about their bottling and wine storage processes. Their wines are organic, which was an interesting part of the experience. After the tour, we were taken to an outdoor patio with stunning views of the vineyards and Mount Vesuvius. The tasting began with an antipasto charcuterie board featuring a variety of cheeses, vegetables and meats, accompanied by wines selected to pair with the food. The staff explained a little about each wine. Lunch included spaghetti with tomato sauce and a side of meatballs, paired with what they considered their best red wine. Dessert followed, accompanied by a very sweet wine. Before we left, we were even offered grappa while browsing their small shop. We didn't purchase any bottles because we generally prefer more robust reds than those offered, but the wines were enjoyable to experience alongside the food. Overall, this was a relaxing, well-rounded experience with good food, wine and beautiful scenery. It's a convenient option for cruise passengers or anyone looking for a shorter excursion near Naples without committing to a full-day tour.

This is my 2nd time staying here and 3rd time visiting. My dad and I stumbled upon this place…read moreduring a day trip to Pompeii and then decided to stay at the resort. This place has it all - winery, resort, horse stables, and restaurant. There rooms have a queen bed with a pullout couch and an amazing patio with privacy. The room is very cozy and has a stocked refrigerator of drinks and snacks. The bathroom is very nice and has a walk-in shower and dual shower heads. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They will assist with making any reservations within the resort or setting up excursions. Breakfast is included in your stay. They offer pastries, juice and some hot items. For gluten free they have bread, muffins and cookies. There is also an epic pool with lots of chairs and a pool bar. The towels are wrapped in plastic and the servers will bring you anything you ordered. We had an limoncello spritz and GF snacks. The staff will also give you a tour of the property. It's kept up immaculately and the views are incredible. We also had dinner at the restaurant. They offer GF pasta and other dishes. The pasta was delicious! The resort scheduled a private Pompeii ruins tour for us. They suggest morning or afternoon due to the hot weather. The tour was incredible and the guide was very knowledgeable. There is also a stable where you can take lessons. We didn't opt to do it this time but my dad and I tried last year. You can also schedule a wine tasting. All their wines are made with volcanic grapes and are natural. We were able to try 4 wines with a shot of limoncello. Lunch is also included and can be made GF. Overall had an amazing experience and will definitely continue to come back.

The wine selection was enjoyable, and I have no complaints regarding the tasting itself. However, the dining portion of the experience fell short of expectations. The food service seemed somewhat disorganized, and the featured pasta dish was particularly disappointing. Given the farm-to-table description, I was expecting a meal that showcased fresh, locally sourced ingredients with more depth of flavor and creativity. Unfortunately, the pasta sauce was quite plain and lacked the richness and seasoning one would anticipate from a signature farm-to-table offering. Even a small addition of meat, vegetables, or more robust seasoning would have significantly improved the dish. While the wine experience was worthwhile, the lunch did not match the quality or expectations set by the tour description. With some attention to the food preparation and service, the overall experience could be much stronger.
