Even my picky 8 years old daughter loved this place

Omg this was Sorprendente and exactly what we were looking for! We drive up and have a glass of wine, go upstairs and the wine and food start flowing - we never ordered anything, yet loved everything - even our 8 & 14 years old kids had a blast! My wife and daughter don't drink so they loved the blood red orange juice which is like nothing you've ever tasted! Everything was wonderful and the setting was out of a movie. I won't visit this region without going back!

This is a wonderful winery with great service you need to visit if you're in the Sorrento, Naples and Pompeii area! We spent the morning at Pompeii and then had a wine tasting and 3 course lunch at Cantina del Vesuvio. It has great views of Mount Vesuvius! Had a few bottles of wine and red wine vinegar shipped to my home in the US.

The view and lunch is 5 stars! Wine is more like a 3.5 stars. Our private driver offered us to stop at this winery for lunch on our way from Rome to Sorrento, so I didn't know what to expect. It was a gorgeous day and we didn't have anything plan, so why not! We had a quick tour of the winery and learned that the volcanic deposits from Vesuvius are enriched in elements. When volcanic rock and ash weathers, these elements are released, producing extremely fertile soils. Very interesting! We then sat down on a lovely rooftop with view of Mount Vesuvius. We had the superior lunch/wine tasting for $45 euros per person. It was 3 courses. The spaghetti with tomatoes sauce was simple and heavenly! The wine was mediocre except for the reserve wine. Maybe I'm a bit bias, but California has the best wine in my opinion. Nevertheless, it was still a fun experience.

We came here for a wine tasting & lunch. It was spectacularly fun. I bought several bottles of wine while leaving. They served us fresh pasta with tomato sauce and meatball. I wouldn't say the food was the best pasta I've had an Italy, but they experience overall was really charming. I will definitely go back if in the area. We booked this as part of a Pompeii tour.

Beautiful location next to Vesuvius with welcoming staff. We booked a tour, wine tasting, and 3 course meal. The tour takes you through the vineyard, production, and cellar with information about the land and history of the area. The tasting has 4 delicious wines paired with fresh, delicious food. Meat, cheese, bruschetta followed by pasta and meatballs, and finally a slice of cake. We hung by the bar after and the very friendly staff insisted we try the apricot liquor and even a couple more wines we did not get on the tour, all on the house. We were called "family" numerous times, told to stay as long as we wished, to just sit and relax, and were explained how important it was this family could share their wine and winery with us and other visitors. Amazing and authentic people who truly want you there experiencing their products. This is well worth the drive up if you're in Naples.

I could have spent my entire Italian vacation at this gem. This family owned winery is a top tier experience, and affordable too. There is nothing like learning about something from people who are passionate on the topic. The family and entire experience is the embodiment of hospitality. After a tour of the grounds, you are able to take in the view and enjoy a 5 course meal which is included in the price of your tour. I highly recommend adding this winery to your Italy itinerary.

Volcanic soil so they don't need water on their vines! Incredible wine, and full service with local lunch snacks and full food options if desired. Staff will tell you all the history of the winery and I would have to say, they have THE BEST BALSAMIC AND OIL on the planet!! Buy in the shop, or ship home if you don't have space. You can join their wine club online also.

We did a private cooking class and wine tour here and this was the highlight of our 10 day trip to Italy. The love and passion that goes into the food and wine at Cantina del Vesuvio is unmatched. Ester shared her family recipes with us and we created a beautiful lunch together. If you are in the area, I cannot recommend this winery enough! I would plan a half day trip here and enjoy the tranquil beauty of this magical place. We enjoyed several varietals and loved them all so much so that we joined their wine club. They even offer free shipping to the US! Do not miss this place!

Was it worth it? Yes. Has it been the best I've been on? No (Yarra Valley, Australia, still holds this title). Would I still recommend it? Of course! So, this vineyard is located on the skirts of Mount Vesuvio, an active volcano located near Napoli, Italy. The drive there is scenic enough, but the view you get once you arrive is even more amazing. The actual plantation extends for many acres, and it goes all the way to the very limit of fertile soil near the volcano's mouth. You don't get to go all the way there, but instead they drop you off at an on-site restaurant. The view is probably even better if you'd have access all the way up. The guided tour itself was very brief. Our guide's name was Maria Paola, and she demonstrated vast knowledge about winemaking. However, the tour was way more focused on a brief history of the vineyard itself than the actual process and challenges they have at making wine. All questions asked, she was quick to respond, but I would have enjoyed it even better if it was a more in-depth look at the winemaking process here. The whole guided tour took about 15 minutes. Afterwards, we were taken into the restaurant where we had a 4-course meal accompanied by 5 different wines. A bruschetta, a pomodoro pasta, a table of cheese and salami, and a cake slice with apricot jam. It was all pretty decent, but nothing was mind-blowing either. The wines were great though, specially the opening one which was a Lacryma Christi white wine. Ended up buying one of these to bring back to the hotel. As they poured each wine, a very fast explanation of the type of winr was given. This could have been more enjoyable, too, if they had taken their time to introduce them better. All said and done, if you enjoy tasting new things, and are around the area looking for a fun way to spend your day, I recommend you check this place out. There's plenty of room for the experience to be improved, but the quality of the wine and the view from up top make it worth the trip, nonetheless.

Maybe a 10-15min drive from Pompeii up on the side of Vesuvius. Great views of the bay and picture opportunities from the restaurant. We opted not to do the tour of the vineyards so I can't speak to that. We were seated by a window on the enclosed deck dining area and the view was gorgeous. If you call ahead, try and ask for a window table. They offer price fix menu options to accompany the wine and although I thought the quality was good, most things were pretty standard. My favorite by far was the grilled pork sausage, tons of flavor. I do think the cost is a bit pricy, but you're getting the wine tasting included so I totally understand. The wines were very nice, they gave us a good variety to try. Special within the region due to the soil content of the volcano. They didn't go into too much detail but they have a nice pamphlet with lots of info. They were readily able to answer any questions we had. We got a prosecco, 2 white wines, 2 red wines, and a dessert wine. You can buy bottles to take with you or order by the case to ship (you can mix and match). A very nice experience and great atmosphere, definitely worth trying.

The first trip involved eight of us, with my wife and I and three of our friends making our first visit to the home country. We were driven from Rome to Pompei to Naples to the hometown of five of us (two families) - Ottati & Castelcivita - back to Naples and then to Rome. We had two drivers: Rocco, who handled the Rome, Naples & Pompeii trips; and Umberto, who drove us from Naples to Ottati & Castelcivita. Both men were professional, charming and friendly, as if your Italian relatives were driving you. Umberto became somewhat of a legend on that trip, since he took us to the towns our families came from and became our interpreter. And oh... Umberto is the father of Giovanni, who runs Benvenuto Limos. (We sent a video to them as a thank you.) This August at the last minute (well, for me at least, during June) after much urging by my wife and the people of Ottati I attended the 75th Anniversary of the opening of town's aqueduct. Fundraising was done by my great uncle and others in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, my hometown, as well by a group in Pennsylvania. There was no way I was driving two hours up the mountains. My wife told me to call Giovanni and Benvenuto and guess who picked me up in Naples? Umberto! And he picked me up a couple of days later to take me back to Naples. Again, it was like family... family that is professional, charming and wonderful. Benvenuto Limos are tremendous. I recommend them highly.

Our experience wouldn't have been as amazing as it was without Giovanni, Daniella and the entire staff. My family (three adult children and two parents) traveled to Italy and after a terrible travel day, we were greeted at the train station in Naples by Roberto and had a wonderful drive to the coast, which was quite refreshing and relaxing after a treturous journey from California. We came to Italy with very little knowledge of the area and very little planned for the week. Giovanni with the assistance of Daniella not only provided us with seamless pick up and drop offs throughout the week in their spotless air conditioned cars, but he and his drivers were basically our tour guides each day which made the trip so much better. They planned our itinerary perfectly with their extensive knowledge of the area and connected us to all the best sights, restaurants, and more. One day we visited Pompeii and Herculaneum. They organized for us to have a private guide in both places and we stopped for an amazing lunch at a winery on Mount Vesuvius during the day. The wine tasting and food was incredible. This was a must all thanks to the Benvenuto team. One of the most memorable moments was our dinner in Positano at a restaurant that is a little bit hidden from the main touristy area, La Guarracino. Giovanni personally called the restaurant to get us a reservation and gave us recommendations of what to order. The assorted chefs choice sea food plate was one of the best things we've ever had and the whole night was so magical. This trip was so special and memorable for my family. When it came to an end, we were so sad to say goodbye to Giovanni who we'd loved getting to know throughout the week. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! We owe so much to Giovanni, Daniella and their amazing drivers Roberto, Luigi, Roberto and Eduardo. If you visit the Amalfi coast, I wouldn't recommend anything more than this company.
