The tour was so unique and informative. Our tour guide, Al, was the absolute best and we got to see the whole vineyard and hear all about the wine making process. It was the most gorgeous vineyard I've ever been to. They treated us so well with the wine tasting at the end too. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. You get a lot of food with the tasting too! It's well worth the money. I wish I could bring everyone here. I will go out of my way to come here next time I'm in Italy. I must say, the environment was fancy, the decorations - pleasant to behold, and the view - stunning. However, the primary roots of my two out of five stars comes with the attentiveness of the servers and the portion size of the food. The Caprese salad was wonderful, the tomatoes were well seasoned and the buffalo mozzarella was very delicious. The bread that they served was also soft, fluffy, and yummy. Our entrées consisted of pasta, Seabass, and red mullet, after waiting 30 minutes for our entrées we were shocked to behold that not much food was given, and we were left feeling hungrier than when we had arrived. The red mullet fillet was perhaps 1 ounce and came with four individual muscles, enough to satisfy a mouse or perhaps a small Chihuahua. The Seabass fillets were substantial, however, they were paired with two thin slices of zucchini, and four small individual russet potatoes, again enough for a camping portion when you are in the mountains. The pasta was good though! All in all, although the servers were nice, we did have to wait quite some time to be served and to receive the check, the food was good tasting, but the portion sizes diminished the experience and left us hungry. Hungry enough, perhaps, to purchase four full-size pizzas immediately after leaving this establishment. Which we did. Because we were still hungry, and this is not to add to the typical stereotype that Americans eat a ton of food, just the entrées were quite puny and the price point was high enough to set our expectations very high. This is a long review, and I would like for it to be communicated that this is purely not harsh feedback but rather constructive criticism based upon our experience. I bid you farewell and good day!

I came to Campania for wine and family history and a birthday present to myself. My last day in…read moreItaly, my Wine Check was four bottles light. This cannot happen. So I asked a man I met while traveling for some bottles I should bring back. He gave me a few producers as well as a few of his favorite bottles. Vintage and maker. I set out to find a wine shop, not a grocery store. I planned to spend a reasonable amount of money, €30-€50 a bottle. I saw a sign on the main street in quartieri spagnoli that just said "enoteco" I believe. It was brown. It was hot. The streets are steep. I had no cell signal and figured... What the hell. So up I went. And up. And up. And there it was. My Italian is pitiful, limited to basics and things you learn when your grandmother is angry at you. I walked in and the man working the shop greeted me. I asked if he spoke English, he did, very little. I explained I was looking for local wines, the varietals, and that a friend had given suggestions. He pointed out the two specific bottles on my list he had, then I asked him for recommendations on two more. As any good wine monger (my preferred term, don't judge. It makes me smile) should, he asked how much I was looking to spend, and if I liked this or that (or acidic or buttery whites, big structure or more supple reds.). Then he pulled down the bottles and told me I wanted these. I paid him, thanked him, and was on my way, back in the heat with my four bottles procured. Overall, the shop is tight. And packed. And the guy seemed knowledgeable enough. English, for an American with terrible Italian, was quite adequate. I will come here if I'm ever in Napoli again. Only complaint, and it's a small one... He put four 75cl bottles in a single plastic bag. When you are walking, A: that's heavy and a bit unruly. B: the bottles clanked constantly. I'm used to the individual bottles at least having paper to keep them from smashing against each other. I managed, and it was a good experience. Check this place out!

We enjoyed the very large beer selection and the excellent meat and cheese platter that was more than enough for two. It was nice to experience the craft beer and take a break from wine.
