The food was mediocre at best. The beef was very tough. The Yorkshire pudding was more like a roll and vegetable did not have any flavor.

So many varieties of food and all six dishes ordered by our party were amazing. Service was excellent and prompt. Trust me. This is the spot. Don't miss out on the panna cotta.

There were plenty of seats for lunch but dinner got crowded quick so go right at opening or make reservations. Beautiful indoor decor, friendly & attentive service, they constantly refilled our waters & they had many gluten free options including crepes. They were so thoughtful to bring bread for my family & gluten free mini crepes for me. My favorite was the sautéed scallops in garlic butter which came with rice & ratatouille. It was very fresh, locally caught & delicious! We also liked the sautéed shrimp with rice and the flank steak with pepper sauce. If you like your steak medium rare, tell them rare with pink. France only does rare, medium or well done. The salmon filet came with mashed potatoes, the fish was a little dry but had good flavor. We were too full to order dessert or else we would have gotten Nutella crepes. Overall a great meal, I highly recommend this restaurant, only 10 min away from Mont Saint Michel.

Favourite restaurant in the world. Unparalleled in my limited experience. The kind of dining…read moreexperience I talk about for months and years after I eat here. Chef Roellinger changed the way I see food. He changed the way I prepare and present my ceviche. He changed the way I use salt. I am a lover of spice, used to calling myself a connoisseur. I learned humility at this restaurant's table. I rediscovered what it is to savour every bite, to marvel at the marriage of tomato and dessert, to relearn curry, coming from a culture where roti is bread, channa is peas, and chutney is confiture. The chateau overlooks the sea, the record breaking tide unveiling miles long sand and Mont St Michel in the near distance. The table settings, votives of seeds and flowers are reminiscent of what you see through the windows. My first plate here, I remember thinking, a piece of the ocean was presented on my plate. I had white fish in a frothy fennel reduction. I tried for weeks after to recreate the experience. Technique is everything at this level of dining. The dessert is an onslaught of the sugar cavalry. It's everything you expect at a mad hatters tea party: fantastical, unusual pairings of things you expect to be savoury but they turn out to be sweet- plus all the classics. And they come in tiered platters on wheels until you say stop. I'm not even a dessert person but here is a place where yes is usually the right word.

With sea views and a terrace overlooking the shoreline, approached through attractive gardens, the restaurant's situation already feels special. The food and excellent service reinforce those first impressions. The menu is particularly strong on seafood, beautifully and imaginatively cooked (Roellinger is renowned for his sophisticated use of spices); the bread is baked on-site. The dessert trolley is something of a highlight, though: a gorgeous, ever-changing selection including ice creams, tarts, caramels and much more. You are encouraged to try as many as you like and everything is superb! While the restaurant is not cheap, it certainly offers excellent value both for the quality of the food and for a lovely overall experience.

We were fortunate to be the first to arrive for our reservation in this modest sized but comfortable dining room. The menu was brief but filled with delicious and unusual dishes. We started with an incredible appetizer which had a butternut squash puree with hazelnuts, a slow poached egg and a creamy sauce. It sounds strange but the taste was exquisite. Our other starter was a most interesting sandwich styled dish with mild beets and smoked herring pieces in a light horseradish cream on a cromesquis tartiflette. Our special main course was a scallop dish. They were so sweet, fresh and tender. It was served with a vegetable resembling mashed potatoes but tasted like a mild celery root flavor. The other main course had three types of local filleted fish served with a creamy sauerkraut. A culinary delight! For desert there was a special cheesecake with a fig topping that maybe had a slight berry flavor as well. The cheese was creamy and light. Overall the meal was superb. Service was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Apparently the menu changes monthly. We only wish we would be back in town next month.

I came back two nights in a row for the tartare. It was excellent! Hand-cut so not minced, very very good! Spring rolls and poached egg with caramelized onions were very good too as starters. Not posting food pictures but a list of their local suppliers posted on the wall, which I think is a great idea Staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home.
