Some highlights: The amuse bouche course was incredible end-to-end, but what really stood out for me was a blue masa shell holding mussel, sauce, and microgreens/herbs/flowers. The mix of the different herbs, the savory salinity of the mussel, and the sauces was wonderfully complex, yet also harmonious. The poached sea trout with pumpkin and horseradish ice cream was very satisfying. The mix of poached trout and horseradish cream was very familiar, yet the twist of making the horseradish a wholly different temperature and texture was really surprising and innovative. The monkfish in adobo was another extraordinary dish. I have only had monkfish liver before, but the way they were able to perfectly cook the monkfish gave it a texture and flavor reminiscent of lobster. With the spice of the adobo, it was a really well balanced dish. Additionally, all of the wines that we tried were also notable and delicious. Frenchie has definitely earned its Michelin star, and I wouldn't be surprised if it has another by the next time I come back.

Food--quite good. Service--rather odd…read more My husband had made a reservation at Le Fumoir well in advance of our visit to Paris. He chose it because of the reviews and also the fact that the seating area layout seemed to provide more space between tables than is sometimes the case. When we entered, a server directed us to the host station by the bar. My husband had printed out his email with the address & the reservation, and he had made some notes on it about things to consider on the menu. We were seated at a nice window table A woman did come right away to ask about sparkling or still water. Wines are by the glass--no bottles were listed that we saw. The server just stood over us for several minutes while we were looking at the menu, which was a little uncomfortable. So my husband explained we would need a few minutes. She seemed offended. Then the male host came over and insisted on seeing the paper my husband had with the email. He took it out of my husband's hand and started trying to read my husband's notes. I asked if there was a problem with the reservation--had they found it? The man said something about wanting to know if it was prepaid (do they do gift certificates in Paris? We had no idea what he meant). I said no, it was not, so he left again. The menu is prix fixe. A different server came to take our order. She was more upbeat and jovial. The amuse bouche was a pickled herring. I ordered the pumpkin veloute soup, which was yummy. Then I had the vegetarian plate, which was fine but not memorable: squash, mushrooms, and an egg on top. My husband ordered the sausage plate. At the end, I requested the check (l'addition"). The server asked twice if we wanted to add a tip to put on the card. I have not had that happen before in Paris, where the tipping conventions are different, and a 15% service charge is included in the prices by law. I asked if it was not included ("compris") and she said no, it was not. I did leave a cash tip. But all in all, some of those awkward moments with the staff detracted from the experience.

This restaurant is absolutely packed and I don't know what % are Walk ins but my hubby booked the restaurant a month in advance. The food is average and the service lacking. Our dinner lasted almost 3hours and that's not because we were slow but rather, the wait staff was missing. One party beside us left after about more than 45 mins of the waiter not showing up to get their orders. The restaurant itself was unique though. Where we sat looked like a library before with books all over the room. It could be that we came at a bad time, nonetheless, there's other restaurants in Paris to try before I come back to Le Fumoir.

Intimate restaurant with blue banquettes & clean lines; we chuckled at the banana leaf design above the paneled walls that matched Blanche's bedroom wallpaper in "The Golden Girls." I didn't try my dining companion's Scotch Quail Eggs (18 € for three eggs, halved) but I did taste their Fish & Chips (26 €) which was pleasantly mild & came with a tangy tartare sauce. My Onion & Stilton Tart (24 €) was incredibly savory & delicious. Texturally interesting with the creamy bleu cheese & cooked-down onions to offset the flakey tart & frisée salad atop. Perfect restaurant for when you want to deviate from classic Parisian fare but still want a sophisticated meal. Charming, lovely server, as well.

A reservation happened to open up for lunch while I was in Paris and we got to enjoy the lunch tasting menu with 5 courses (+2 extra small plates to begin). It is a blind tasting menu, so they give you the menu at the end of the experience which I enjoyed. It was very plant-forward and used lots of fresh seasonal vegetables. The zucchini in white bean sauce was one of the best bites I've had, and I couldn't believe how good just zucchini could taste. The seasonal vegetables plate was another highlight, with cucumbers pickled with szechuan peppercorn, shiso leaves with a sweet paste inside, and the crispiest tempura I've had. Incredible meal and service in a beautiful setting. You can tell the care and effort they put into each dish and the entire experience. I would eat here everyday if I could, and will definitely be thinking about this meal for a while.

While it was not on the hottest week in Paris, it was close with the temps being in the low 90s. I was so excited that we were able to get a reservation. We arrived to be seated by the open window and every table was filled. With a few minutes, we realized that there was no AC and because the tables were so close together, there was no air circulating and it became sweltering. Think your legs and thighs are sweating onto the seat...no joke. Later, as the other diners cleared out, it cooled down significantly. Today's menu was vegetables. I didn't expect the majority of the courses to be veggies. As one reviewer noted, it can be hit and miss based on your palate. As a meat and seafood lover, this was a huge miss for me. The raw tuna served early was good without being very memorable. At one point when this "brown" dish was served to our neighboring tables, we were so excited that it was finally a filet. Nope, it was eggplant! The eventual protein was sweetbreads in a lettuce wrap. Very flavorful but was scared to tell the teen and my sis what sweetbreads were so that they would eat it!! The pacing was troublesome where we were all super hungry and you would get 3 pieces of lettuce!! Very well cooked lettuce but still three pieces of lettuce. The amuse bouche probably was a hint of what was to come...it was essentially the water from boiling veggies - no real flavor. Kinda reminded me of L'Arpege where we dined years ago but simpler in preparation. It was one too many vegetables cooked - poor son who was 7 at the time had to eat a whole plate of BUTTERED vegetables. Wished that we had hit them on a seafood night or gone to Clamato. The ingredients and cooking were both well-thought out and prepared. Just not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a Yamt'Cha type restaurant so my miss on research.

When we walked in, we asked if we could sit upstairs, and they said that that's where the kitchen was, so no. It was funny - I can see why Americans annoy Parisians. We ask for a lot. For our entrees we had white beans, tartare tuna and tomato salad (you know that entrees' are appetizers in France). For our main dinners (plats) we had the lobster anise ravioli and monk fish, both excellent. The ravioli were large and the monk fish was a thick piece with great texture. I'd definitely go there again but probably won't because their are so many restaurants to try.

It was soon clear why: the place filled up quickly and was bustling with a mix of locals, tourists, and expats. The food was a little mixed: I got the chicken and fresh spaghetti and it was sublime. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the skin perfectly crisp. The spaghetti was very fresh, well seasoned, and had these delicious chanterelles atop it. We also got a beet salad that was quite good: the beets were of high quality, tender (but not mushy), and there was a wonderful contrast in texture with popped quinoa that was mixed in a tasty beet puree. The cheese plate also had a Robuchon (maybe misspelled) that was deliciously creamy and unlike anything I've had before.

The reduced juice also added some good flavor. My only small thing to note was that it was slightly on the tough side at certain point. The potatoes on the side were delicious, and about as good as potatoes could be- creamy with a nice flavor. I think the price was a little bit high for the portion size, but not too bad. The restaurant itself is medium sized with a very pleasant and bright environment. There is simple yet elegant decor and the ambiance could be suitable for both a casual and more formal setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service speed is fast. Overall, I would highly recommend Restaurant Georgette for honestly most types of occasions if you are looking for some good French cuisine.

We sat on the outside patio next to our hotel (Pont Royal). I want to first start off by saying that Kevin who brought our drinks (after we ordered them) was awesome and did a great job and deserves five-star accolades. Maria, on the other hand (who I was told is a student) was there as our patio server (who seemed nice at first), but was actually terrible at her job. I had to get up to request refills on each of my three drinks (which, by the way were €36 a shot). We won't be coming back and I can see why they will not be receiving another Michelin star anytime soon (which they received in 2008 I think). We went to Bistrot l'Olivier for dinner earlier and the food was excellent, and the service was even better. It's sad that what was once a two-star Michelin rated restaurant can't find good servers and claimed that there were no good workers but somehow we found a place off the beaten path down the hill from Montemartre who had constant great service and were so attentive and so much fun (and for a big fraction of the cost).
