We went with a group and everything was paid for so I'm not sure about the over all value what I do know is that everything that came out of the kitchen was delicious, it seemed as if the food was almost never ending, the music was jamming, beautiful ladies in gorgeous costumes + very handsome talented male dancers, culminated in one fantastic spectacle...manifique! During the time that I was at Pau Brasil, the venue seemed a little on the small side (more normal for french standards) There was a male MC/host, who could ssss-ang, a female vocalist, about 4 or 5 female dancers and 3 male dancers, so at most there were only about 7 to 8 people on stage at one time but given their space and the good use of it, the showed really filled up the room and I really enjoyed the more intimate setting. I also really liked the crowd participation. For now I can only imagine how the show has evolved over the years but I bet now is an even better time to visit because I have a feeling that they probably found a cute way to include this years Olympic games. Obrigado Pau Brasil! Side note: From what I've heard and read about other more touristy cabaret/spectacles like Moulin Rouge, etc I know that our group spent a fraction of the cost and got much better food and over all experience (based on my research, without visiting other places as to not waste my money)

The waiter was great. My adult daughter is a little picky, so he ribbed her (You flew all the way to Paris and you're going to eat fettucine alfredo?!) and encouraged her to eat the Beef Cheek with Foie Gras. It was Amazing and the best dish we ordered! -Beef Cheek w/ Foie Gras: The beef cheek was tender and divine. Grilled foie gras was lovely. Comes with gorgeous potatos and a celery/onion puree. -Creme Brulee: really good. -Pan Fried Scallops: comes with mushroom risotto. Delicious. -Grilled Rib Steak: with pepper sauce and french fries. Unfortunately, not the best cut of meat. -Duck Foie Gras w/ Chutney: Apparently, I am not a fan of foie gras terrine At one point in the night, my husband made eye contact with the waiter across the restaurant and held up his glass to indicate that he would like another. Apparently, the waiter signaled across the room to the bartender who brought it right away without the waiter even coming back our way! It was like magic or a Jedi mind trick! My husband was in awe :)

On my most recent trip to Paris, I stayed at the Renaissance Arc De Triomphe hotel. For one of the…read morenights, the concierge recommended that I tried the Makassar. I read the Yelp reviews and the supposed fusion of French and Indonesian whet my appetite immediately. I usually stay away from "hotel restaurants" but decided to give it a try this time around. We were welcomed with a small basked of shrimp/fish crackers served with some sort of spicy tomato dip which tasted really good. For starters, I had the sambal (spicy shrimp paste) shrimp which was heavenly. The marinated shrimp was grilled to perfection and drizzled with some awesome sauce. My dinner date had the foie gras (why, of course) and the combination of figs, foie gras and toasted baguette slices really set the tone for the entire meal....or so I thought. Both our main course was cod fish in curry (there was a catchier name, I swear) with sticky rice. My heart sank as soon as I had the first bite of the fish. After killing it in the appetizers, I had such high hopes for the fish but the dish turned out to be as bland as plan rice - it was lukewarm, tasteless, spiceless and wasn't too good. I requested for the aforementioned spicy tomato dip in hopes that it would make the dish better but unfortunately, it did not. Ultimately, my dining experience was marred by the main course, and somewhat lack of service. Disappointing :(

I was so happy we stumbled upon this! There is a dress code so prepare. But luckily they felt bad for us, since we just stumbled onto it after a day in the city. Everything we had, drinks included was delicious. Service was on point DJ Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Where was coat check? lol There is a dining room for full dining and the rest of the space is for vibing and grabbing drinks... but I had nowhere to put my coat! Lol Of course not a deal breaker just preference. And maybe if you're familiar with the spot you'll dress accordingly. But.. because the spaces by the bar can get tight.. this was a bit of a struggle
