I loved that he was honest and upfront about what to expect--so many doctors sugar coat things (i.e. severe pain is not the same thing as "discomfort"). I healed up beautifully and went on my merry way. Now that my other knee is acting up, I'm back. I have full faith in Dr Hatfield's advice and care. He is not the doctor who insists you have a consultation first then sends you for X-rays then had you come back again for treatment. He had me get X-rays first then come in one time. He looked at them, diagnosed, and gave me my cortisone shot all in one quick visit. No nonsense! His staff is also very kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

So I was fully prepared to go in and be told that my knee surgery 15yrs ago didnt quite fix it. But it turns out maybe I just have arthritis. I was immediately called back, had X rays and was diagnosed with a Radial fracture and was out of there within 90 minutes. This place is super efficient - everyone I encountered was amazing. So much better than going to the ER or urgent care - just to be sent home with a referral to follow up with an orthopedic doc. It's literally one stop shopping! Is there is more money in attempted repair than the TKR I had originally requested? I now wonder. Regardless, it has been just over a week; I am off pain killers and moving around with only a cane. I can even walk a little on even ground unassisted. With Weinstein and I couldn't walk properly for months. So after four months I went went back and complained to his face... which was a complete waste of time. My advice (and I did it this time) get multiple opinions, recommendations and do not let your self get sweet talked. Also pick a surgeon that specializes in the particular joint you are replacing or at least that are of the body, not one that can, or does, replace all sorts of other body parts.

I am a competitive powerlifter and I tore my vastus lateralis muscle (one of the quad muscles) attempting to squat 650lbs in a competition. It was nearly a full rupture of the quad muscle and my 28 inch thigh swelled up to well above 30 inches in circumference. Due to the nature of the injury it was imperative to get it looked at and operated on quickly. The staff at SOS got me in and out faster than I would have anywhere else. I got an MRI scheduled the same day as my initial appointment, and a surgery within ~2 weeks, even around the Thanksgiving holiday. Marissa at the front desk is always happy to help and made scheduling and payments a breeze. The X-ray technicians are friendly and accommodating especially when I could hardly move my leg. The PAs and doctors are great and were very mindful when removing stitches. Dr. Weinstein is everything I wanted in my surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and to the point. He won't lie to you or beat around the bush. He gave me the pros and cons of surgery and the possible outcomes with the various choices I had. The surgery itself was very successful and I am nearly back to where I was. He has taken the extra steps to make sure I get back to my goals of squatting heavy again and not stopping at "it's good enough". He treated me like a powerlifter and never once suggested that I should give up on squatting, which was incredibly helpful mentally, especially right after the injury.

While my Physical Therapist was personally very kind and attentive, I would only work with her for about 10-15 minutes per session and was then passed on to the assistants who were NOT attentive. They would give me my exercises to complete but rather than staying and ensuring I was doing them correctly would run to another patient and work with them, and then I would be sitting there for several minutes inbetween exercises waiting for the assistant to come back. I came three weeks in a row and every week was like this-the facility just seemed like they had too many patients scheduled at once and not enough employees to properly take care of all the patients. As someone who has done physical therapy at several facilities over the years I was disappointed in my care and would not recommend coming here. I gave it a two because I liked my physical therapist but if it wasn't for her I would give this facility a one.

After getting two treatments from another PT place, I was referred by a friend to Matt at Foothills and I'm extremely grateful Matt squeezed me in to help me with my shoulder injury, doctors wanted to do surgery but Matt suggested PT along with dry needles/deep tissue massage and it's worked out AMAZING. Talk about night and day difference between PT places, I'd definitely return if I had another injury. The care here from Matt and others is top notch. The facility is clean and orderly, up to date machines and every kind of item needed for exercises for any injury. You need to be aware that the questionnaire you fill out in the waiting room is considered a "Psychological Evaluation". You will be charged $980 for this every year if you go back. In my case, it was never discussed with me. This evaluation costs more that the visit I went for. Just be cautious when you fill this out and aware that you will pay a lot for it.
