It is a major tourist site today and is reputed to be the French capital of gastronomy. "GB", as it is known locally, has a very popular outside patio for dining. Our group of six dined al fresco on the patio for both a lunch and a dinner at this establishment in the Lyon suburb of Bron. GB's menu is somewhat limited with a small selection of appetizers and salads, along with grilled steaks and fish. Starting with a pair of popular and ultra-fresh apps of Burrata and Carpaccio, our group stuck with the basics including the Grilled Filet of Beef and Salmon Steak. Garnished with fresh veggies, rice or this country's famous fries, the entrees were everything they we expected and more. The kind of place you could go to dressed up for a very special occasion or dressed casually for a delicious lunch. I was dressed very casually and felt as welcome as the man dressed to the nines a few tables from me. Service: 5 I don't typically write reviews about service because, frankly, I care much more about the food. However, the service here was so above and beyond excellent, I had to include it. My waiter was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but was genuinely kind. I could really tell how much he cared about me and my experience and how passionate he was about the food he was serving. I had similar positive interactions with the rest of the staff as well. In fact, the chef personally reached out to me on Instagram to thank me for mentioning them in my stories. How cool is that?! Food: 5 I honestly don't know how to even put the food into words. It was indescribably delicious. Every aspect of the meal, from start to finish, was absolutely perfect. We picked the Fish quenelle and veal. We also ordered the fish herring. The fish Quennelle was made so well that you can taste the freshness of the fish used and the sauce that was similar to a subtle lobster bisque. The veal was delicious and was served in a white sauce with hinds of wine. The service was impeccable and had one of the best services while in France. The interior was cosy and comfortable.
