I've dined at Le Refuge twice now - once seated outside on a balmy spring evening with friends, once inside with my husband & visiting (American) parents. Both times the food was excellent, the service efficient, and the prices reasonable for the quality.
The steak was cooked on the rare side of medium rare, just the way I like it. Their Flammkuchen is unparalleled, if you're partial to the melty blobs of Camembert throughout - and their desserts are to die for; pair with even their least expensive wine and let yourself be dazzled.
I think we may make this a regular date-night stop, if only for some dessert and to enjoy the sophisticated minimalist interior. Their outdoor seating leaves a bit to be desired (unless you like hanging out on a corner in Maxvorstadt, surrounded by parked cars) but overall I have no complaints.
For a special occasion (or classy date) I highly recommend Le Refuge. read more
