EXCELLENT CHARCUTERIE AND CHEESE! We wanted to try something local and more traditional, and we came across Le Pied Bleu. Their website states they're specialized in cooked charcuterie, so we decided to try it out and it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere with light music. They also have a few tables outside under the roof (ideal if you prefer "under the shade" patio seats). Both the charcuterie platter and the cheese platter are certainly the highlights. Our server was very kind to describe each cured meat and cheese in details. While we all have our own preferences, our group agreed these are of very high quality! We also ordered a few lunch plates to share - crepes, sausage & eggs, etc. They're freshly prepared and are served in a hot pan which kept the food nice and warm! J'adore la salade Lyonnaise et quand j'ai mis Pied Bleu sur ma liste d'endroits où manger ; J'avais bien l'intention d'avoir une salade Lyonnaise et le plateau de charcuterie ou Le Tour Lyonnais quand je me suis arrêté pour le déjeuner. Cependant, le patron ? / mon aimable serveur m'a proposé de commencer par un verre et le petit plateau de charcuterie. J'ai commandé un cidre glacé et mon plateau de délices est arrivé rapidement avec un panier de baguette en tranches - contrairement aux États-Unis, il n'y avait pas de rationnement de pain ici - cela ressemblait à une baguette entière découpée et placée dans le panier. Tout était fantastique - le pâté, les cretons, le saucisson sec, le saucisson de Lyon aux pistaches, le jambon/bacon et la moutarde maison (et il a gentiment partagé la recette) et les cornichons étaient spectaculaires. J'étais aussi heureux que j'étais rassasié et j'étais bourré! Mon serveur était intelligent ainsi qu'un homme gentil - et il m'a fait plaisir avec mon français bien qu'il parlait parfaitement l'anglais. Dîner en plein air sur le trottoir, j'ai eu droit à une grande variété de musique pendant le déjeuner, y compris la musique de Jean Leloup, Mara Tremblay Jok1 Le Chef, tellement cool. Un autre moment parfait assis dans la ville de Québec. Cela me rappelle à bien des égards l'Europe, la France et pourtant il a sa propre ambiance distincte qui résonne vraiment en moi. ***** I love la salade Lyonnaise and when I put Pied Bleu on my list of places to eat; I had every intention of having a salade Lyonnaise and le plateau de charcuterie or Le Tour Lyonnais when I stopped for lunch. However, the proprietor?/my gracious server suggested that I start with a drink and the small plateau de charcuterie. I ordered an icy cider and my platter of delights arrived promptly with a basket of sliced baguette - unlike the USA, there was no bread rationing here - it looked like an entire baguette cut up and placed in the basket. Everything was fantastic - the pate, the cretons, the saucisson sec, saucisson de Lyon with pistachios, the ham/bacon and the house mustard (and he kindly shared the recipe) and the pickles were spectacular. I was as happy as I was full and I was stuffed! My server was smart as well as a nice man - and he indulged me with my French although he spoke English perfectly. Dining al fresco on the sidewalk, I was treated to a wide variety of music during lunch including the music of Jean Leloup, Mara Tremblay Jok1 Le Chef, so cool. Another perfect moment sitting in the city of Quebec. It does remind me in a lot of ways of Europe, of France and yet it has its own distinct vibe that really resonates with me. read more

We loved this concept - an open air deli kitchen with cute little bistro tables and long last supper style dining tables. comfortable and cozy. We loved the vibe and wanted the service to be as good as the vibe but unfortunately it wasn't. There was one waitress on a Friday night to cover 5 tables and one was a party of 12. The server was so slow that we actually opted not to order dinner and go somewhere else. Otherwise we loved the charcuterie, though it lacked a crunchy grain or cracker. It was served with soft bread, which was was hard to eat the charcuterie onto of. Soft bread doesn't make a good base for meat spreads, it came across more like a sandwich. We were only given 3 pieces of bread. We had to ask for more bread and butter, which was not brought with the bread. We would've loved to try the entrees but didn't get the chance, truly a very cool place if you have patience. Also they didn't sell individual glasses of wine which also deterred us from ordering alcohol. The people that work there are very good hard working people. It seems they need just one more person to help at the front of the house. read more

Dined at Le Pied Bleu back in 2016/17. It was one of my favorite experiences while visiting Quebec. Fresh, authentic food in a very comfortable and unpretentious atmosphere. I really felt like we found a non-touristy haven. While not a Vegetarian establishment, it reminded me a lot of Claire's in New Haven or a little like Moosewood in Ithaca. The food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming. It is on my list of priorities when I return to Quebec. In fact, we are planning to go to Quebec as soon as possible after this pandemic is over. read more

The ambience is genuine. Music is nice, food is delicious. The service and staff are very welcoming, super friendly and full of life.
