The food here is great. We had the tostone's, empanadas and mofongo. The waitress was very nice too.

Was out at dinner at a nicer bar and restaurant a couple blocks away with some friends one night…read more We decided to check out some bars on Bridge Street since it's been over a decade and a lot has changed. Although this place has a horrible reputation, we decided to give it a shot. ...... oops! lol It's a much younger atmosphere on a Friday evening then we would like, however, since we walked down there, we decided to grab a drink anyways. The service is horrendous. The drinks were horrible. And the atmosphere was that of a high school cafeteria. Almost literally. We noticed one of our friends, daughters and her friend who are here drinking at a table with several other peers. Problem is these girls are only 19 years old. We immediately spoke with these girls and contacted their parents and also let the Bar know. The Bar tenders did not care and I guess the owner whoever he or she is fully knows and is very supportive of this based off with the bartender and some regulars were alluding to. We have contacted the local police department and the MLCC . Apparently, when filing report with the police department, this place has been under a microscope for quite some time. I would not be surprised if it is closed down within the next year or two.

Colin the bar tender took our drink orders and returned with our craft beer in icy cold mugs! Just the way we like them! He was friendly and had a nice sense of humor. The menu is breakfast served all day and lunch/dinner items. They have a theme of hot dogs (very affordable) friend chicken and smash burgers but also other items. My husband ordered a breakfast waffle sandwich with corn bread waffles fried chicken and a honey drizzle. He loved it!! I had the fried chicken sandwich which comes with lots of shredded pickle and I dipped it in ranch dressing. So yummy! I added fries which were piping hot and tasty. Our server Grace was a sweet helpful young woman! I so love a menu that doesn't have 50 items and 5 pages.

We had beers while we waited for our table and the bartenders were great. Quick service and they were friendly. We were seated at a booth after 30ish minutes. Shaun was our server and he took such good care of us! Our refills were quick, he was so nice and our food was as exactly as we ordered. We had a deluxe pizza on hand tossed crust. I tell ya what - that crust is GOOD. The bottom was crispy and the end was soft and chewy. Decent amount of toppings too! We also had a Caesar wrap with crispy chicken. They add diced tomatoes here - and I like that! Shaun did ask if I was ok with tomatoes, he must have had people complain in the past to know to ask. We went with chips as a side, I knew I wasn't going to eat enough of the side to spend the extra $$ on an upgrade to fries. Z's is a downtown staple, especially late night. It's been a LONG time since we've been out in GR late night, but it was good to know the food is really good when sober too Of course we'll be back!

The appetizers were great and the pizza puffs reheated great the next day! Our sever was so kind and helpful with my indecisiveness with trying to order. There are huge TVs everywhere and she was more than willing to move things around so I could see the games I wanted. It was a fun night! There was an hour wait for a table. They gave us a beeper. We couldn't grab a drink inside at the bar to escape the heat, so we found another restaurant where we snuck in a back door and ordered drinks at the bar. The beeper went off after an hour and we made the 5 minute walk back to the first restaurant. We ordered drinks and appetizers. It took about 1/2 hour to get our drinks. The appetizers came out about 10 minutes later. We decided to order a Margarita pizza with added pepperoni and mushrooms. It sounded simple enough. About an hour later, the Margarita pizza showed up without pepperoni or mushrooms. We asked the waiter to take the pizza back and have the kitchen add the missing ingredients. Silly us. We figured they throw the missing ingredients on the pizza, reheat it in the oven for 5 minutes and bring it back. A half hour later, we asked our waiter about our pizza. He seemed new and a bit overwhelmed. He went to check on it. We never heard back. 15 minutes later we asked again. Nothing. Finally, 2 hours after we ordered the pizza, the pizza arrives, accompanied by the manager. She is very apologetic. They had tossed the 1st pizza, but never remade it. She comped us the pizza and we each got a free dessert. The food was fine. It was your typical Southern Italian-American food, meatballs, pizza knots, and calamari. The pizza was good thin crust pizza. There was a ton of pepperoni. (Maybe that was to make up for the long wait?) and barely any mushrooms. I was fine with that. No one complained. So it's ordinary food at an affordable price. The choices are limited downtown.

I've never had anything here but excellent food and service. I've grown addicted to their French Dip sandwich which is about as good as I've had anywhere. The bread is substantial enough to hold the copious amounts of au jus I dip it in without falling apart. Yet, it is not too heavy to overshadow the meat. I order this just about every time I go here. This time however, they had Korean fried chicken tacos as a special. My wife made me order it because she knows if I didn't, I'd be complaining all the way home. This item should become a regular. Wonderfully flavored chicken with Korean sauces and spices and vegetables in a usual taco set up, My wife became enamored with the Mediterranean salad which she says is the closest thing she's been able to find that resembles what she craves from Greece and Italy. She added chicken which was a generous portion so I sampled some and it was excellent. While waiting for lunch to arrive, I looked at the drink menu, specifically bourbons. Holiday has a impressive list and I was surprised to find even the hard to get, allocated bourbons were in stock and "reasonably" priced. We really have to put this restaurant much higher up in our thought process.
