A bench! My kingdom for a bench! What a great location to get a rest with a great view. Nice little park tucked into the many sites of Brussels. Sometimes it can be difficult to find a nice bench to rest your weary feet after a long walk. This park fits the bill. Love the fountain, very relaxing. Nice try coverage for shade and plenty of open space. Just a nice spot. read more

Le Petit Sablon - Gorgeous fall day - Parks Near Me - Brussels, BRU

Le Petit Sablon was not really on our Weekend in Bruxelles itinerary but this is one of the most memorable park I visited during this trip. This park is just so cute! Small but grandiose at the same time! Just love all those statues on top of the Gothic Columns which represented the 48 ancient trades of Bruxelles. This garden is a good pit stop to just rest your tired feet and enjoy a moment of quietness. A great view of Eglise Notre Dame au Sablon just across the street! read more

Le Petit Sablon - Can you find me? - Parks Near Me - Brussels, BRU

Le petit Sablon is proof of less is more. Here is a very small, but immaculate garden complete with a bit of Belgian history. One thing to love about Belgium or Brussels is all the historical bits and pieces found around the city and with that the art as well. History bits-- The site was inaugurated in the late 19th century. At the center sits a beautiful monument and fountain. The figures enshrined there are a reminder of the past tyranny of the Spanish. Nothing like some blood to go along with your statues and history and pretty art, right? Of course. Either way, Le Petit Sablon provides some really nice neo-renaissance style statues for pigeons to chill on, lots of nice benches, and one of the most ornamental parks/gardens I've been to in awhile. Across the street is the Eglise Notre Dame au Sablon which tops it off for some more gothic architectural love. read more

A tranquil place to sit and relax across from Eglise Notre Dame du Sablon. The landscaping is well done, there are statues surrounding the park, and at the end is a beautiful water fountain. Benches are in front of the fountain to enjoy the scenery. It's a small park, but picturesque and relatively quiet. read more

This park was quite a surprise. I was not expecting the beautiful calm and oasis found within this small park's gates. This park is surrounded by 48 little statues which represent the medieval guilds of Brussels. It was built in the late 19th century as part of the larger project to improve this area of Brussels. In the center of the park, you will find a beautiful fountain surrounded by statues depicting the counts of Egmont and Hoorne who were executed at the Market Place in 1568 by Philip II of Spain. The hedges and flowers are beautiful and kept trimmed perfectly. The park beckons you to enter and explore it. One of the best little city parks I have visited in my travels. read more

Perhaps the most stunning landscape in Brussels. After walking around the city center for a few days, this small park was a slice of paradise and tranquility. It's impeccably manicured, and if you hang out on the weekends you're liable to see photo shoots and weddings on the grass and in front of the fountain. Bonus: one of the statues ringing the fountain - which is actually of Mercator - requires a double-take to make sure it's not actually Dumbledore. (I'm still not convinced) read more

Vibrant area about 2km south east of the Grand Place. It features an amazing park with trees that have been trained to grow as a midair fence. Has nearby museums such as the musical instruments, Margarita and National Arts Museum. The immediate Grand Sablon area is high end. The le petit sablon is a beautiful park with royal statues and fountains, a massive cathedral and tons of chocolate shops. The main highlight I see are the bars, restaurants and choclateries. read more
