A fly-by is recommended while in Brussels. You'll snap a quick photo and then probably be on your way. Unlike the little boy and little girl, this statue is not a fountain. However, it is laid out in the area slightly better, so while it gets busy, it doesn't feel as crowded. Unlike the others, I have not seen this mutt decorated or dressed at any point.

Zinneke translates to "mutt." It's a cute statue, but nothing extraordinary. I visited the other two pis statues, so I came because I needed to complete the trio.

This peeing dog statue is cute, but nowhere near as cool as Manneken Pis or Jeanneke Pis. I say this because it's located on a street corner, making it difficult for photos. When we visited last month, the statue also had color on it like someone had drew on it. Still worth seeing!

Someone added yellow 'pee.'

Love random street art like this; it is the 3-D companion to graffiti. This dog made us all happy; he was just doing his business - "nothing to see here."

Pissing statue #3 This was a little bit tricky to find. A few locals remember seeing it but can't recall where it's located exactly. It's on a street corner. I was at St. Catherine's and just started walking aimlessly. There were some quirky stores along the way. A gallery of art using hair as medium. I kept walking and not really looking for anything in particular. Then there was a statue of a dog taking a piss. No crowd whatsoever. I was able to take pictures from different angles without any photobombers. It's free, not locked in a cage and isn't way up high (like Janneke Pis and Manneken Pis)...you can actually touch it.

August 2015 - no more pissing dog

The family dog! He is back - when I visited two months back, apparently someone had run over him and so happy to see him back on his regular street corner. I like this statue heaps more than of Mannekin / Janneke Pis.

I feel a bit sorry for Zinneken Pis (aka. Het Zinneke). He's the third in the Pis family. After Manneken Pis and Jeanneke Pis, the little boy and the little girl, finally comes the pissing little dog. He's much newer, having only been built in 1998. He's far less well known. He's not hidden but he's not obvious either and, although I saw crowds constantly around Manneken and occasionally around Jeanneke, I never saw anyone near poor Het Zinneke. Perhaps it's because he has performance anxiety. Of the three Pis statues in Brussels, he's the only one who isn't part of a fountain. He stands, leg cocked eternally and unable to go. The poor thing. I think he's my favourite.

The urinating dog is a statue and not a fountain like the other two pis. Stop by for a quick picture so you can say that you saw it.

It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site that's pedestrian only. We've hung out and strolled through in the early morning, afternoon, late evening, and even after dark well after midnight. Every two years in August, a floral carpet is installed in the middle of the centre. It's a ginormous arrangement of breathtaking flowers. A Christmas tree and lights go up every year. The neo-gothic architecture is outstanding from the kings's house to the town hall. Such an amazing piece of history that should be on everyone's sightseeing list.

It's worth visiting twice--once during the day to see the intricate details, and again at night when everything is beautifully lit up. While it is usually packed with people, if you come very early in the morning, you can enjoy the square almost entirely to yourself. The surrounding area is full of shops and food, though it is very touristy, so keep that in mind. If you're lucky enough to visit during the holidays, the festive decorations are spectacular!
