A rabbit-themed French cafe - who could resist?
Not rabbit on the menu, rabbits on the walls and on the tables and napkins. Bunnies galore!
On a Saturday afternoon, I gorged on galettes and crepes washed down with Appletiser and pretended I was in France. Easy enough - the staff are mostly French and the food is quite good.
The wide selection of galettes - buckwheat crepes with sweet and savoury fillings - make a nice change from the standard brunch offerings. I had the salmon with beetroot and creme fraiche and it was a delicious and reasonably healthy option. Based on this highly heath conscious choice I went for a dessert crepe with salted caramel which was light and sweet and so good!
The space is sweet but feels a little contrived. It's also a bit bland - located on the ground level of a residential building in leafy, suburban Elsternwick.
I love the rabbit pictures and the easy vibe of the place. The menu had a selection of Winter-warmers that weren't really appealing now we are in Spring but I look forward to seeing what they come up with for their next seasonal menu. read more
