If you're looking for a much more affordable option to the Ritz Carlton's high tea this is definitely the place to go. It's a little more dressed down but the food was delicious and the service was great!

A great afternoon tea option, should make a reservation as there is very limited seating. For $30 you get a 3 tier item with desserts, sandwiches, scones, and even chocolate and macaroons. Comes with a pot of tea and there is a HUGE selection of teas to choose from The tea shop is quiet and tucked away in a local area and is a hidden gem in the city. Very filling items that could skip lunch for sure The foie gros sandwich and the duck confit is AMAZING and shockingly amazing given the price point

I really don't drink alcohol or coffee, or get my nails done, but I do have one indulgence - tea. As in, the tea experience with the tiered serving platter and the finger sandwiches and the desserts. Oh, the desserts... But I digress. Starting recently I have decided to go to high tea when on vacation, starting with Montreal. Le Parloir wasn't super frilly with hats to try on. It was a little more modern but still fun. The husband and I each had the $26 tea. I was hoping to get my 6-year-olds a teddy bear tea or whatever is the Montreal equivalent, but they didn't offer that. So we had the kids share a $26 tea. They ate everything. First there were the savories. (Or as the French-speaking owner cutely called them until her daughter corrected her, "the salties.)" My husband and I skipped the ham and cheese and the foie gras and got more of the others. My favorite was the duck confit on crostini. I had my doubts since it was served cold, but my concerns disappeared when I tasted it. Topped with a dab of jam, it was really good. It was my daughter's favorite, too. Next best was the smoked salmon with cream cheese. It was delicate and just right. The cream cheese and cucumber was adorable and cut into a heart. However, it was still just a basic cream cheese and cuke. The kids liked their ham and cheese. The next tier was my favorite: a scone and a panna cotta. The scone was more like a biscuit or a shortcake, and it was a big hit at the table. The owners said she made them. I would have preferred that they be served hot, but they were still good. They came with jam and everyone's serving tray had a different flavor. Three of the four of us preferred raspberry - the other jams were strawberry and blueberry. I had my first panna cotta in my late 30s. My twins have now had theirs at age 6. This panna cotta was passion fruit-flavored and topped with (I think) graham cracker crumbles. It was one of my favorite sweets of the day. The top tier was my least favorite overall but still really good. I am mentioning my quibbles below, but it should be known that the husband thought they were all perfect. Each of us had a different flavored chocolate. (Pistachio might be the standard but my daughter is allergic so they gave us others.) Mine was sea salt and I felt the saltiness overwhelmed the chocolate. The lemon curd tartlet with poppy seeds was fine, though I felt like I needed something to cut the lemon curd taste (perhaps a ginger cookie?) The last sweet was a macaron. We each got either a cherry or blueberry one, and they were very good - and for the most part better than those at Paillard (a bakery in Quebec City known for their macarons). Oh yeah, the tea! The tea is always less important to me than the food so it's easy for me to forget. Our rooibos rosemary tea (I think that's what it was) was only okay, the chai better. There wasn't an obvious sweet fruity tea for the kids so we got them the vanilla-y Earl Grey, but they were uninterested. We all got a cutely packaged tea pot-shaped shortbread cookie to take home. Our trip to Le Parloir began with us driving to Montreal from Quebec City, barely checking into our Air BnB and hurrying off to Le Parloir for a 2:30 reservation. We were the only ones there. It was really nice having a relaxing afternoon at Le Parloir. The mom and daughter owner and servers were very sweet. My own daughter declared she wanted to work there one day. When asked she said she wanted to be a cook and then changed her mind to be a server. I'm the tea person so I was surprised when my husband announced that he'd like for our final lunch of the trip be at Le Parloir. (Clearly I need to take him with me to tea more often if he's this willing.) That sounded great to me too, but unfortunately when I called I discovered that they were closed for the week. Great little place. Very quiet and intimate. The teas are great and diverse. The scones are too good for jam, but insane with the Devon cream. The platters are delightful, a good variety of high quality nibbles. I would return in a heartbeat.

My fave place for afternoon tea!!! It's such a cute little place. Perfect place for gossiping hohoho. They have many teas to choose from and make u smell them before choosing. The afternoon tea set comes with the usual: the salty bites, the scones and some sweets. They serve smoked salmon, foie gras and duck on the salty platter and they're so good. The scones come with homemade jam and if you come with friends, you can taste different jams. On top they have macarons and some small pastries. The staff there is very friendly. The place is small so make sure you reserve before coming here!!!

Little cozy place for afternoon tea! Liked the fact that they let us smell the tea before ordering it. The price is reasonable (26$ for the high tea). A place to go if you want to gossip with your friends. Didn't need to reserve but you should call before just to make sure they are not too busy. :)

I ll go for high tea any day. I went here with a friend for brunch on Sunday, it is cosy space with few seats available so you have to reserve if you want a spot for the weekend. We took the multi platter brunch menu. The food was delicious. The ambiance is super chill and nicely decorated.

They let you smell the tea to help you decide!!

An excellent small tea house to sit and enjoy numerous and delicious varieties of tea. They have pastries as well as small sandwiches as far as food goes, but the highlight is the afternoon tea. The decour is beautiful and cozy. If your tea lover, you will love the new loose tea kettles and tea cups available on the table set up as well as on the shelves. To top it off, they allow you to smell the tea before you choose which one you would like. The afternoon tea set up can be set up for one or however many people you have in your party. The sandwiches and the pastries available on the tree or a nice variety including salmon, turkey, ham, and beef. The sweets ranged from tangy lemon, to pistachio, to an amazingly flavorful passion fruit. I am very glad I discovered Le Parloir before my holiday in Montreal was over!

So glad I found and made reservations for Le Parloir. Our group of six gals very much enjoyed our time here. The space is small and cute. I loved the square-ish table so we all were able to see each other and conversely easily. Service was great and helpful. We got three orders and shared them. Their jam was amazing, and we really enjoyed all the cute offerings. It was also great on their instruction of timing the tea with their timer on how dense we wanted it. They have vegetarian/vegan options and it's all very affordable, at least compared to high tea in the States. Le Parloir is a gem. We stayed for quite awhile, and our waters were always replenished and never felt rushed.

    Peach and chai teas: amazing!

Absolutely adore this place. Affordable high tea offerings in a lovely neighborhood. The tea selection was amazing and the tower was enough for two! Delicious sweets and sandwiches which filled us up until dinner. The peach tea was incredible as was the chai and they brew it perfectly so no bitter tea!!

The best tea experience I ever had in Montreal. Cozy, well designed, warm, friendly and welcoming. Smiling staff who are ready to help and address your questions on a variety of teas available to serve. On weekends you can order a plate with ten items, five sweet and five salé. Worth ordering and enough for two people. A small tea pot comes with the plate. A sand clock tells you when your tea in well infused and ready to drink. The best part is the cups and saucers. Beauuutiful :)

A cozy tea house on the Plateau where you can enjoy an afternoon tea. They have a good selection of tea to choose from and it's served in beautiful china. I recommend trying the tea package, which includes a tea of your choice, 5 savory bouchées (the classic cucumber sandwich, foie gras toast, duck confit toast, ham sandwich, and a smoked salmon sandwich) and, 5 sweet desserts (the scone with Devonshire cream & strawberry or blueberry jam, a mini tart, a macaron, mango panna cotta and a chocolate. The service from the owner and the waitress was great, and they're very nice. When you pay the bill, they give you cookies to bring home. :)

Hot chocolate and raspberry almond tart
    Sehee J.

I just visited this place on Christmas Eve with my boyfriend and it was great. Overall atmosphere felt very home-like, and the tarts we had (chocolate and raspberry almond) tasted just right. Not too sweet yet rich flavours. Would love to take this place to Toronto with me.

    The amazing scone!

The highlight for me is the tasting table. There's six tables you can walk in and sit at, and the menu has one item per type of tea (white, green, etc). Each order comes with two contrasting teas within the category (Chinese vs Japanese green), for you to enjoy head-to-head. I hear they rotate the teas, see pic for example of the menu! The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with my many questions. As a tea shop they have a massive selection of teas in an easily understood menu, and many quite nice teaware pieces that are reasonably priced and designed specifically by/for Camellia Sinensis. They also sell tea drinks to go! Limited selection vs tasting table, but a good variety of different tea types. There is no food. Note this is a marked difference from the tasting room/mini restaurant that existed here pre-covid, and is described by many older reviews.
