Found this spot near our hotel and we're just looking for a bite to eat before we went on our way to continue exploring the city. The plus of this place is definitely the ambiance. You get that small cafe feel in Paris. Great place to meet with friends.
While I didn't order any drinks, the coffee and lattes looked delicious. Same goes for a chocolate dessert drink I saw.
So, the dinner is where this place lost some stars. I ordered the lamb shank and mashed potatoes while my spouse had the chicken with herb potatoes and salad. Overall both meals needed salt. I'm not a big sale person and we don't use a lot of salt to cook work at home, so for me to say the food needs salt means they probably didn't use any.
With a little salt and pepper, the chicken was good and is probably order it again. The lamb shank was a different story. It was unseasoned, tasteless, and almost looked like it was boiled in water or microwaved (no color and bland). The size of the lamb was also pretty big but came out pretty it's a quickness, which again lead me a o think it was boiled or microwaved. The mashed potatoes were made from scratch as you could taste the freshness, but again it was bland and tasteless. For a dinner that was based on the recommendation of the server, this fell flat and I didn't take more than 4-5 small bites before calling it quits.
But let's end on a good note though. While this place had a good amount of seating, the one server and bartender were quick to take orders and produce drinks.
I honestly might stop here again for a coffee and a baked good, or maybe the chicken again if I'm in a pinch. read more
