You exit the station and turn right and then immediately on your left is the entrance to the hotel (directions from the train station elevator exit). Don't be put off by the front of the building and ground floor lobby. The guest house is on the 2nd floor and there are different businesses on each level of the building. As you enter, the elevator is up a small flight of stairs to your right. The elevator is small, so it may take a few trips if you have a lot of luggage. We stayed in the red room and it was spacious. It looked exactly like the pictures on Trip Advisor. The room was clean, new, and modern. The service was impeccable. The front desk clerk Lilia made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to suggest some delicious local restaurants and sightseeing options. The guest house is centrally located and in walking distance to historical landmarks. It felt very safe as the police and military presence was visible. I can't say enough about how pleased I was with the room and the service. If I am in Napoli again I will definitely stay here!

Seeing the outdoor bed and the outdoor shower on the balcony made me absolutely speechless. Silence between he and I as we took in all of the amenities. We looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Yes, we were going to enjoy this space. It's certainly very Italian. Our floor was completely tiled in blue and yellow ceramic and the balcony made of terracotta. It felt very old world. It did feel "busy" with all of the patterns compared to what most American's probably are used to. While I wouldn't live with it in my home in America, I absolutely loved it and embraced it in Italy. It felt palatial and I loved waking up to that every day that I stayed. LOVED the bathroom. With a huge sliding glass door that also opened to the balcony, I could soak in the 6x4 ft tub as I overlooked the Napoli coastline. A tub that was made completely of glass on one side. Yes, this was a hotel room made for lovers. Despite having been to the Amalfi Coast three times now, I'm still dying to go back. And of course, I would book my stay again at La Tonnarella in room 24. I wasn't there even 20 minutes before I was sprawled out on the balcony in a bathing suit with a mischievous grin on my face.

Best part of Sorrento is A39. This is a small (new) boutique hotel in the heart of the city. What should you expect staying here? Impeccable lodgings at a very reasonable price with a private chef in the morning for your free breakfast buffet. Best of all they have a Bluetooth speaker in each room for those of you who love some tunes during your travels. Interestingly this was the only hotel with this feature we stayed at during our 2.5 week trip through Greece and Italy.

It's a charming boutique hotel with stunning, unbelievable views from the balcony of our room (though note, balcony privacy is limited). We were fully prepared to give a 5-star review. However, a disturbing incident on our final night completely changed our perspective and revealed a shocking lack of duty of care from the management. While returning to the hotel via the steep, dark alleyway approach (approx. 50 steps), we found two young women in clear distress. One was nearly unconscious--limp, unable to speak, with dilated eyes--while her friend, who seemed only slightly intoxicated, was struggling to help her. The friend stated they had just been drinking at the Hotel Casa Albertina rooftop bar. As my wife is a nurse, we immediately stopped to assist. Concerned for their safety on the dark steps, we made the logical decision to help the incapacitated woman back up to the hotel lobby, the very establishment that had served them, so she could sober up safely and we could arrange a secure ride home. The receptionist's reaction was appalling. He was immediately hostile, refused help, and demanded we remove her from the premises. We were not accusing anyone of anything; we were simply trying to ensure a patron's safety. The hotel's defensive and aggressive stance was telling and deeply unsettling. I ultimately had to carry this young woman down all 50 steps myself to get her and her friend into a taxi (we confirmed they got home safely). The most unbelievable part was the manager confronting and yelling at us during checkout the next morning, reiterating that we were "wrong" to bring her to the lobby. The complete lack of concern for a customer's well-being is unacceptable. I cannot stress this enough: I would caution anyone, especially women traveling alone or in small groups, to be extremely aware of their surroundings and seriously reconsider patronizing this hotel's rooftop bar. The management's priority is clearly avoiding liability over ensuring patron safety. Their vicious reaction to our good-faith attempt to help was appalling and ruined our honeymoon's final impression. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this hotel or its bar to anyone. The view is not worth the risk.

Casa di Mimma is literally a piece of heaven. Besides the beauty of the place, the amazing gardens, all the zen corners, you're greeted every morning with an unforgettable breakfast of home made honey, marmalades, and freshly baked goodies. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay another 2 nights. We even took our wedding pictures in the gardens. Will definitely come back, and hopefully soon there will be 3 of us in the room. :)
