The food was stellar, we were 6 in the party and so we tried everything (the menu is not large). The food was easily sharable amongst everyone, and everyone was delighted with the quality. Make reservations if you can because there is not much seating so you might be waiting.

Charming, unassuming, and unexpected! I sought this place out based on good reviews on multiple…read morewebsites, and it didn't disappoint! Food/drink: I love that we were served some little nibbles (peanut snack mix) to start. We started with the local wine as an aperitif; it's sweet and slightly fermented. And we ordered our 2 favorite Ethiopian dishes. 1) The qey wat, a spicy beef in sauce, large portion, was nicely spiced with a little heat; it even came with some cheese for a slightly tangy flavor. 2) The vegetarian platter, which had 7 different dishes including 3 different lentils, cabbage, sweet beets, spinach, and salad. The injera was thinner/spongier than what I'm used to, and we had to ask for more twice, but we definitely were nicely stuffed by the end. Service: It's a mom and pop shop, which gives it charm. We were attended to as needed and, given the small size, had no problem finding the host/server when we needed him. Ambiance: This was the fun part! The restaurant was unassuming and almost hidden on a mostly residential street. Inside is the size of a (large) living room; one side had communal style seating with traditional Ethiopian table settings, where most guests sat. Add in the Ethiopian music videos in the background and it felt like an experience! A charming "hole in the wall" spot. Tip: it's small, seats ~6 parties, and pretty close quarters (that includes the bathroom, which is right next to wear people eat, so plan accordingly.)
