Le Montage was the venue of a wedding reception I attended in Sydney and it was beautiful. This venue faces the water so there's a view of the boats and it also gets chilly. Since we arrived early for the reception, we weren't allowed to go in, even if it was to use the restroom the guests weren't allowed to enter, they were very strict on this rule. And it was freakin freezing cold out. Since we had no choice, we tried to keep warm with their small coffee stand next door.
When we finally entered the place, we were greeted with a spiral staircase leading us towards the garden area where they served hors d'oeuvres. The staff were pleasant in trying to distribute them. For the amount of guests for this wedding, this garden was a tad tight for us since we were elbow to elbow but luckily we didn't have to stay out there too long and was able to go into the main hall. The inside had nice lighting designs but also made it hard to take pictures around the dance floor area. There were round tables around the dance floor with the couple and wedding entourage up front at the presidential tables. This venue allowed sparklers and mist makers which added a stylish touch to the program. For the food, it was a set four course menu that every other person would get something different, so 5 of us would either get meat or fish, then if you didn't like what you got, just swamp it with the person next to you. This was my first time experiencing a menu like that and I liked since sometimes at weddings I end up like the person's plate better than mine. In general the food and dessert was pretty standard, nothing stood out to me but it wasn't bad.
Overall, this place is a classy and elegant place to hold a wedding reception and a parking is free around the venue. read more
