Definitely not hurting for business! Great atmosphere. 5 stars for the food - zero stars for the host & the staff ! Asked for outdoor seating- some was available- told no -reservations only. Saw other people just show up - seated - oh well. Ordered bottle of wine, lobster soufflé, & a petite filet. Asked for water. Wine arrived, asked for water, food arrived, asked for water. Must of been a drought? Food was delicious- fortunately,as waiter never came by to check.

It was a nice July evening after a rainfall, a little steamy though. It was fun watching the people walking by on the pedestrian street. Our service was fine, and the food was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a Bouchon which had salade lyonnaise and I wanted a quenelle. I got exactly what I wanted and was happy. My dad got the same, with Île Flottante for dessert. He raved about his dessert for the next few days. My husband's Blanquette de Veau was a LOT of food. Too much and he had trouble leaving it. Overall great experience if you want a Bouchon where you can eat traditionally and people watch.

The boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to enjoy a NYE dinner during our stay in Lyon and I had saved this spot as a must-try for authentic Lyonnaise food. One problem - we didn't make reservations. Lucky for us (and I mean REALLY lucky) we arrived at just the right time and were able to be seated right away. Yay! We went with the menu and made sure to order different things so we could taste as much as we could. I want to say that everything was absolutely delicious, but my truffle, fois-gras pasta was TO DIE FOR. I meant it. It was maybe the most amazing thing I have ever put in my mouth. I will dream about it until the day I day. Yes, it's rich. Yes, it's over-the-top decadent. But believe me, you do not want to pass this dish up! The service was good despite it being really busy and our wine glasses were never empty. I couldn't imagine a more amazing place to dine on our last meal of the year!

I struggle to find good food when I travel and I'm glad this place caught my eye! The yelp reviews are far and few in between for the smaller towns in France so I had to go with instinct on this one :) We strolled in around 9:30 PM And ended up staying till closing! The service was great. They worked with my poor French and we made it work. I recognized the word lentil so I got that for appetizer! Super good and with a sausage on-top that we shared. We got a pork dish (that we saw on Yelp!) - AWESOME. You can taste the mash potatoes was made from scratch and with love. The truffle pasta was really yummy! In France, they seem to like Liver. I tried it, it was well made but I just don't like liver but the pasta made up for it. Now... the desserts! The Creme bulee was good but the one I would go back for is in the picture. It was like a bead pudding made with a subtle fruit. Just get it! Last - their wine prices are super reasonable You won't regret trying this place

This is a great example of a Lyonnaise restaurant that has a great sample of regional food. Please be prepared to spend upwards of two hours enjoying your dinner because they can be busy with the small kitchen and while trying to perfect their dishes it does take time with the service. Be sure to inquire exactly how the dishes are constructed and what may be in them so you are not surprised. A lot of these places will fill up fast so the trick is to get there as soon as it opens otherwise please make a reservation. I went hear it specifically for my mom who loves blood sausage and she absolutely loved it! Feuillete de Boudin. With all of the great food and a free aperitif at the end, I was not impressed with the cappuccino and would've gone elsewhere just for that.

Le mercier I love the assortment of amuse-bouches served before your meal. Their pâté was exceptional . I started with their all duck salad (duck foie gras, thin slices of breast and offals). If you like this stuff, the flavors of the meats makes you realize how much a lot of our meats in the US lack flavor. I also had the "Entrecôte" served with bone marrow and a creamy mashed potato. It was very good, but I wasn't a fan of the white sauce served as a condiment. All in all a very good "Bouchon" in Lyon.

Oh Lyon, how do I love your food, let me count the ways! I came for dinner with some French students. When they asked if I wanted "crème de cassis" in my appetizer wine, I said oh no, I don't want cream or any sort of dairy in my wine. Well, turns out the crème is simply blackcurrant syrup which sweetens the wine and gives it an amazingly rich red hue. Awesome. For the main dish, they recommended that I try the Andouilette. One of them hesitantly asked if I know what I'm getting myself into ... oh my god, it's so beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and impeccably seasoned with mustard that, even if I was averse to eating pig intestines, I would've still loved it! The Merciere house specialty dessert cake was yummy. One also has the option of getting 3 bite-sized mini desserts with coffee. The restaurant is situated in a tight space, but I loved every moment tucked in those narrow alleyways, winding staircases, and dimly lit cobblestone streets.

Maleducats. No m'hi vaig quedar. Delicious entrecôt with mashed potatoes :) Anyway I came back the second day and they refused to serve me because I went alone, despite there were free tables. They offered me to dine outside although I said I don't like it and besides it was cold. Bad maners. I didn't stay.

The staff was extremely friendly and helped us choose our dishes and a nice bottle of wine. The place was quiet when it first opened, but after an hour many (not all) of the tables filled up. The location is small, but it didn't feel crowded at all. I had the €31 menu. I started with the escargot, followed by the veal, and finished with a sand tart. The escargot was not a traditional French style and was quite small. The veal was fantastic (cooked just right with a bit of redness), but it was light on vegetables. The sand tart was tasty, but it was accompanied by a bizarre green sauce. Our waiter helped us choose a very nice wine, and he brought out an aerator which enhanced its flavour. We walked out happy. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, but I felt the restaurant was trying a bit too hard to be creative in their meals. Come here if you're looking for something innovative and modern in French cuisine. I would consider coming back if I visit Lyon again.

As such, finding an open restaurant in Lyon on Monday after Easter became a challenge. Our hotel's concierge came through with a reservation for Cinq Mains (5inq Mains on their sign) in Vieux Lyon. Not expecting much, we were impressed by this casual bistro with a hip vibe filled by locals. Although every dish was excellent, the main star was a terrine of rabbit - a day after Easter, an unintended irony. Nevertheless, the terrine was superb and a meal for two unto itself. Yet, we mustered on through sea bass with leek, beef with middle eastern spices, followed by relatively unsweet but well done strawberry ice cream with rhubarb, and chocolate and passion fruit ice cream. All were excellent and provided with friendly bilingual service and great, and reasonably priced wine advice. Definitely would return.

I had some last minute unplanned travel changes that landed me in Lyon for a few days. Being the gastronomic capital of France, I wanted to dine at as many Michelin Star restaurants as I could. As fortune would have it, I only had a day or two in advance, so I was only able to reserve a table at one. That meant I had time to visit a little restaurant my friend told me I absolutely HAD to try. I'm so glad I took his advice. Words can't do justice to how truly incredible it was, but I'll do my best to describe my experience... Atmosphere: 5 The restaurant was very nice but not pretentious. The kind of place you could go to dressed up for a very special occasion or dressed casually for a delicious lunch. I was dressed very casually and felt as welcome as the man dressed to the nines a few tables from me. Service: 5 I don't typically write reviews about service because, frankly, I care much more about the food. However, the service here was so above and beyond excellent, I had to include it. My waiter was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but was genuinely kind. I could really tell how much he cared about me and my experience and how passionate he was about the food he was serving. I had similar positive interactions with the rest of the staff as well. In fact, the chef personally reached out to me on Instagram to thank me for mentioning them in my stories. How cool is that?! Food: 5 I honestly don't know how to even put the food into words. It was indescribably delicious. Every aspect of the meal, from start to finish, was absolutely perfect. No exaggeration, my brain released so much dopamine in response to the meal, I legitimately felt high for at least an hour afterwards. I didn't even know food could do that. It was really that good. In conclusion: I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. It's been over a year since I've been and I still think about it almost daily. I feel no need to return to Lyon except to eat here again. You can bet I'll go well out of my way to return. If you have an opportunity, GO! To the staff, thank you SO much for everything. Dining with you was by far the best part of my trip to France. I can't wait to see you again someday soon!

My mom and i got the three course tasting menu with a wine pairing - I got the octopus and my mom got the quail (you didn't pick the appetizer) for dessert i got the marscapone heart and my mom got the cheese plate. The octopus was FABULOUS - tender but not mushy and full of flavor. The wine pairing was literal perfection - every wine paired flawlessly with the dish I was impressed. Seriously floored by how well all of the flavors went together. The appetizer was some carrot dish that was phenomenal - I'd have no problem getting my veggies in if they were all prepared like this. The quail was also so delicious tender and flavorful. The marscapone heart was lovely as was the cheese plate. I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. Perfect perfect perfect cuisine in a lovely little restaurant with wonderful, welcoming decor. I would come back to Lyon just to eat here. Fabulous. immaculate. wonderful.
